RUSH: Let\u2019s go to the audio sound bites. These people are showing up and giving McCain the business. They don\u2019t like what this regime is doing; they don\u2019t want our party helping. The people showing up understand that what\u2019s going on here is politics, not national interests.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s going on here is politics, not foreign policy, and I don\u2019t understand why McCain doesn\u2019t see that. So we\u2019ve got two or three the sound bites here.<\/p>\n

MAN: How much is the life of American serviceman worth? To me it\u2019s worth a whole lot more —<\/line><\/p>\n

MCCAIN: Sir, there is no contemplation of putting a single American serviceman or woman in danger. There\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

MAN: I know, but you can say that now, but when —<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: I\u2019m telling you there\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

MAN: I know, but —<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: I\u2019m telling you there\u2019s not, sir —<\/p>\n

MAN: Military planes. (crosstalk)<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: — so that is not an argument we can have. It\u2019s not gonna happen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. And McCain has said today, by the way, this had an impact on him, he has said today that if — I\u2019m paraphrasing, at least I saw it on Drudge. He said that if Obama puts boots on the ground that\u2019s an impeachable offense. He said that, something like that. McCain said there would be an impeachment of Obama if he puts boots on the ground, that\u2019s a quote. So this guy had an impact. He reached McCain last night. Here\u2019s the next little tete-a-tete.<\/p>\n

MAN: I would much rather use our taxpayer\u2019s money to take care of our vets that are coming home from the two conflicts we\u2019ve already been in.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: I appreciate your service very much, and I appreciate your opinion. I don\u2019t think I need to be lectured to about veterans.<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, here you go. This is exactly what a caller earlier today was talking about, about gratitude and humility. Why\u2019s McCain taking this personally? Here\u2019s one of his voters, he\u2019s an American citizen just offering his opinion. (imitating exchange) “I don\u2019t think we need to be spending all this money to go in there and siding with Al-Qaeda and so forth. If we\u2019re gonna be spending additional money let\u2019s take care of the vets.”<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t need to be lectured to by you, sir, on veterans. I was in Vietnam with John Kerry.” It\u2019s unnecessary. McCain is acting like the guy is being contentious with him, and he hasn\u2019t been. He took that as a personal attack. This next one is very fast, eight seconds.<\/p>\n

MAN: This is what I think of Congress. They are a bunch of marshmallows. That\u2019s what they are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s waving a bag of marshmallows in McCain\u2019s face. So after this, McCain ran into a reporter from CNN, got a little testy.<\/p>\n

NAVIDEH FORGHANI: It sounds like a lot of people are opposing this.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

NAVIDEH FORGHANI: You sound like you have your mind made up. Does this —<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: Do you think I would be having a town hall meeting if I had my mind totally made up? Do you?<\/p>\n

NAVIDEH FORGHANI: No, I\u2019m just asking, because of prior statements that you\u2019ve made.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: You\u2019re asking a dumb question.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, you\u2019re asking a dumb question. See, this didn\u2019t go quite the way it was supposed to go. And Senator McCain, he\u2019s perfectly comfortable with lecturing us about things, but, “I don\u2019t need to be lectured to by you, sir.” I know the reporter did sound 24.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
