CALLER: Hi. It\u2019s great to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve been listening to you since well before I was 24, and I\u2019ve never been afraid of you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, God bless you. There\u2019s no need to be. I can\u2019t thank you enough for that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m very excited about your book, and since you can write for 10 to 13 years old, I\u2019m hoping you can — I\u2019m blonde, so I\u2019m having problems figuring out the Syrian, Egypt conflict. And I was hoping you could help me figure it out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, you make a good point, need to remind people of something. You mentioned ages 10 to 13. Folks, this hardcover is 224 pages. This is not some skimpy little book for kids. This is a real book. It\u2019s 224 pages, hardcover. It took beaucoup hours to record the audio of this. Now, you want to know the similarities of the two, Egypt and Syria?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

CALLER: Well, I just am confused because I thought the Arab Spring was a good thing, that\u2019s what the media, not you, that\u2019s what the media said. I had thought Assad in Syria was like —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re like everybody else. Brandy, you\u2019re just responding to what you heard. You heard Nancy Pelosi and Hillary and whoever else talk about what a great guy Assad was and —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — what a great reformer, and John Kerry went to dinner with him and said the same thing. And then in Egypt the Arab Spring was happening, and that was good, that was the Obama campaign happening in Egypt. It was such a wonderful thing, hope and change in Egypt. That was all good and now it\u2019s all falling apart and you\u2019re scratching year head saying, “Wait a minute, I thought it was all good. How can it become this?”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And the answer to your question is they were lying to you from the get-go about what all this was. The Arab Spring was not democracy and freedom and liberty for citizens of these countries breaking out. What the Arab Spring was — let me sum it up for you in my words. The Arab Spring is this administration\u2019s attempt to get rid of leaders, some would say dictators, who had been sympathetic and supportive of the United States for years, and replace them with militant Islamist extremists. That\u2019s what is taking place, under the guise — because the American people don\u2019t have any questions about it — under the guise of hope and change, Arab Spring, whatever supposedly nice sounding thing it is. <\/p>\n

But it\u2019s all falling apart because it never was what we were told it was. We were being misled by everybody, by the regime and then by their slavish media. And because it never was what they said it was, now it appears to be falling apart when in reality this has been in the cards from the get-go, I think. I think Obama has wanted to get rid of a lot of dictators in that region who have been sympathetic to the United States for years, in one way or the other, because of stability in the region and replace them, \u2019cause he doesn\u2019t like them, for whatever reason. Does that help?<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s helped with Egypt. It does help with Egypt. Now, the red flag for Syria, for me, was that Putin\u2019s calling us a liar, and so now I know — I mean, I already knew the Obama administration was lying to us on a number of things. So if both of them are lying, what\u2019s really happening in Syria?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, somebody in Syria is using chemical weapons on the population there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There is an argument taking place as to who is doing it, and that\u2019s where you got people on both sides accusing the other, and where both sides don\u2019t have any trust and credibility. Should we believe Putin and his investigation? There\u2019s one guy, Jossef Bodansky, who is a renowned scholar, quoted him on Tuesday, claims that it is the Syrian rebels who are not a bunch of innocent men, women, and children, and families. They are thug, criminal. They\u2019re Al-Qaeda, many of them are, the rebels trying to get rid of Assad, take over the country for themselves. <\/p>\n

Bodansky says that they are the ones that used the chemical weapons, not Assad, and that the United States knew that they were going to use chemical weapons and help because the objective is to get rid of Assad. So you\u2019re like a lot of people, we had a previous caller, “How do we know what we\u2019re being told is true because they haven\u2019t presented any evidence?” And you\u2019re not the only one who doesn\u2019t get it. Nobody, even the media, Brandy, is starting to ask the administration, “Where\u2019s your evidence for what you\u2019re claiming? How do we know Assad is doing this?” Nobody really knows. Don\u2019t miss the last half hour, because I\u2019m gonna answer the rest of your questions as we finish the program today. Thanks for the call.<\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Nathan, West Alexander, Pennsylvania, great to have you on the program. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, thanks Rush, mega western PA calling on my iPhone 4 hope you can hear me dittos.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I hear you great.<\/p>\n

CALLER: All right, good deal. Hey, just a quick comment. The situation in the Middle East seems like the peaceful Muslims need to rise up against the extremist Muslims and squash it themselves. That\u2019s basically where the whole dilemma is. If they can figure out between the sects over there which ones are peaceful, which ones are extremist —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. What are the odds that\u2019s gonna happen?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know, I know, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Everybody\u2019s scared of the extremists, Nathan.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, if everybody stood up together, I think it might make a difference. I mean all the peaceful regions over there. If everybody stood up as one big collective to get rid of that, I think it might make a difference.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, obviously that would be wonderful if that happened, but that usually is not the way of the world. Now, you\u2019re right in one sense. These people are gonna have to be defeated. But, you know, there\u2019s another question, what peaceful Muslims? Syria is run by the Assad family, they are Shias. We\u2019re talking about Assad here. He\u2019s not a peaceful guy. He\u2019s brutal. He probably is not the one using nerve gas, but he\u2019s not a good guy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I completely understand. That\u2019s why I\u2019m saying if everybody were to get together and squash the Muslim extremists, it would make it that much better. I think that\u2019s what needs to happen and we need to stay out of it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019d be great if that would happen, but the aggressor always sets the rules, and people are scared to death of them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I guess the Muslims over there need to search themselves and find out if they want to live with that or get rid of it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think you need to understand, they live under dictatorships. It\u2019s not a question for them. I mean, women who get raped are put to death because it was their fault.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. And that\u2019s a shame.<\/p>\n

RUSH: How do you rise up against that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: What about the military leaders in Syria? Didn\u2019t they overthrow the Assad regime?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. The Assad regime is still the Assad regime.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, I thought they had kicked them out of office.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. You\u2019re thinking of Egypt.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, Egypt.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re thinking of Egypt where the military rose up —<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re right, you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — against Morsi, but the military has always controlled Egypt. Mubarak, they were buds, they were aligned. Mubarak did what he had to do. The brotherhood was attempting to wrest power from the military in Egypt, and Morsi paid the price for it. People did stand up in Egypt. People did stand up in Egypt. I mean, what you\u2019re saying is not impossible. But Egypt\u2019s a different country than Syria. And we\u2019re allies with Egypt for a reason. Were. But not Syria.
