RUSH: Governor Christie of New Jersey. Let me tell you something, folks. This act of his to throw this open Senate seat because of the death of The Lout to an open election in New Jersey? Ha! I\u2019m just gonna tell you something. I will not be surprised… I\u2019m not predicting it officially here, but I will not be surprised, if when 2016 rolls around and Governor Christie is seeking the presidency, I won\u2019t surprised if he seeks the Democrat<\/emphasize> Party nomination. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m not predicting it. I\u2019m telling you I won\u2019t be surprised. It\u2019s my intelligence guided by experience. You have here an opportunity to add a Republican senator. I don\u2019t care whether it\u2019s for two months or 10 months or 18 months. I don\u2019t care. You\u2019ve got a chance to buttress your party and stop, or help stop, this onslaught from the left that\u2019s happening in this country. There are some pretty important things that are going to be coming up in the next 18 months. Immigration reform. You\u2019re gonna have maybe…<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know. You\u2019ve got judge nominations. Who knows? There might be a Supreme Court vacancy. In addition to immigration, there\u2019s gun control. Any number of things in legislation will be coming up in the next 18 months or in the next 12 months, where a new Republican senator could make the difference in stopping it. Instead, we\u2019re gonna get a Democrat in there. A special election in New Jersey? What are we…?<\/p>\n

“Because it\u2019s only fair! The people of New Jersey elected The Lout, and they didn\u2019t intend a Republican to have this seat.” You just reverse this if this is a Democrat governor and Republican senator dies. Heh! What do you think happens? The seat flips. Hee-hee. (snaps his fingers) Just like that. There\u2019s more to this than meets the eye.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s no opposition there to liberalism and the Democrat Party. You sit here all day long and get filled with anger over Obama throwing it back at us in our face with Susan Rice and Samantha Power<\/a>, which is exactly what he\u2019s doing. But, folks, I gotta keep throwing back at you the Limbaugh Theorem. None of it attaches to him yet. So all of the IRS scandals and all these things that people think at some point — like Snerdley said at the beginning of the program, “When is this stuff gonna finally matter?” Well, as far as Obama\u2019s concerned, it may never touch him. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s why the midterms in 2014 are crucial, and it\u2019s why what Chris Christie did deserves real scrutiny from the standpoint of the Republican Party. You talk about slap in the face. You talk about throwing it right back at people, here\u2019s a chance, even if it is for 18 months, who cares if there\u2019s a special election? This is politics. Which means it\u2019s warfare of a type. And there are real things that we are fighting and trying to roll back and stop. And we need people in the Republican Party in positions of power voting against some of this stuff. We just had a chance to have another one in the Senate. Sorry, it would be unfair. I\u2019m gonna throw it open to special election to show people how moderate and partisan and bipartisan, whatever I am. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m gonna end up getting a phone call. Don\u2019t anybody tell me that Governor Christie\u2019s a conservative. Maybe a Republican or a RINO, but not a — (interruption) What? Well, you think I stepped in it with that? Now, how in the world is that stepping in it? Tell me, Snerdley. How in the world is that stepping in it? ‘Cause so many people think he is? Really? Even now? Maybe not as many now, exactly right. H.R.\u2019s whispering to me, “He\u2019s never said he was a conservative.” Let me tell you something.
