RUSH: Now, I mentioned earlier that the theme<\/a> in Washington amongst many, not all, but many in the Washington press corps is, “Man, this guy, Obama, he couldn\u2019t possibly have been involved \u2019cause he\u2019s not involved. This guy, he\u2019s lazy, he\u2019s disengaged. The government\u2019s too big. He can\u2019t control it all. His fingerprints are not possible to be found on these events \u2019cause it\u2019s too big, it\u2019s too massive, Obama can\u2019t control this.” That was David Axelrod\u2019s excuse. “It\u2019s just too big.” Which is why the Tea Party exists, by the way. But that\u2019s another story. He says it\u2019s unmanageable. And Obama is called President Passerby, by Dana Milbank. <\/p>\n

So this job, president, is so beneath Obama. His talents are so much larger than just this office, and he really is not that interested anymore. That\u2019s how they\u2019re attempting to convince people, be it Benghazi or the AP phone scandal or the IRS scandal, it couldn\u2019t have been Obama. Why, I mean, he\u2019s just sitting around watching all this stuff just like you. This morning on the Today Show. The cohost, Savannah Guthrie just talked to David Gregory, the host of Meet the Depressed. And Guthrie said, “We have three scandals at a boil right now, David. Which is the most potentially dangerous to the administration in the long term?”<\/p>\n

GREGORY: This IRS story is the most politically toxic. We are not necessarily at the end of this by a long shot. And there is a passivity about the president and the White House that even his aides that allies on the outside acknowledge is a problem, why there has not been a faster, more stringent response. What they say on the inside is they\u2019re frustrated, too, by the practical limitations on the president\u2019s power. He can\u2019t, after all, just dismiss his acting head of the IRS without cause, because the IRS has insulation from the executive branch precisely out of fear of political interference.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, you see? Obama couldn\u2019t have had anything to do with this. There\u2019s insulation. These people at the IRS, there\u2019s no way Obama can control them. He just can\u2019t fire the IRS guy, because that isn\u2019t gonna solve anything. He just can\u2019t dismiss the guy over there without cause. I mean, the IRS has insulation from the executive branch. The executive branch can\u2019t tell the IRS to do anything. Tell that to Frank VanderSloot. “Billionaire businessman Frank VanderSloot, a major Mitt Romney super PAC donor who was subjected to three federal agency audits after being slimed by the Obama campaign, says he isn\u00c2\u2019t the only one of his peers who was audited after donating to Romney.<\/p>\n

“VanderSloot, who was also national co-chair of the Romney campaign\u00c2\u2019s finance committee, was described in an April 2012 Obama campaign Web posting as one of eight ‘wealthy individuals with less-than-reputable records.\u2019 Shortly after the post appeared, VanderSloot was subjected to two Internal Revenue Service audits — one focusing on his personal finances, the other related to his business interests — and a Labor Department audit of one of his businesses.” <\/p>\n

Sheldon Adelson, another major GOP donor, was scrutinized by the IRS. Franklin Graham, the IRS went after Billy Graham, too, his son charged yesterday in a letter to President Obama. But Obama, there\u2019s insulation. Obama can\u2019t do any of that. See, his fingerprints can\u2019t be on that. There\u2019s insulation, as David Gregory said. Besides, he\u2019s so passive he couldn\u2019t possibly. It\u2019s just so frustrating. It\u2019s just too big for Obama to control.<\/p>\n

RUSH: “Barack Hussein Obama! Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!”, the nation\u2019s number one community organizer, hasn\u2019t the foggiest idea what\u2019s going on in his own regime. He\u2019s the best organizer there\u2019s ever been, this guy\u2019s hands, he knows what to do, organizing. “It\u2019s too big, Rush. The administration, the government, is too big. Obama couldn\u2019t possibly know what was going on.” Now, George Bush, that\u2019s another matter. Abu Ghraib, Bush, I mean, he may as well have been over there in that picture himself. And Bush may as well have been down at Club Gitmo and flushing the Koran down the toilet. I know it didn\u2019t happen, but nevertheless. You have Bush, weapons of mass destruction, he put \u2019em there and then he took \u2019em back, and he\u2019s hid \u2019em somewhere. <\/p>\n
