RUSH: So let\u2019s go to the audio sound bites this morning in Mexico City at the Anthropology Museum, present Obama speaking to Mexican college students…<\/p>\n

OBAMA: (godlike reverb) Our attitudes sometimes are trapped in old stereotypes. Some Americans only see the Mexico that is depicted in sensational headlines of violence and border crossings — and let\u2019s admit it. Some Mexicans think that America disrespects Mexico, or thinks that America is trying to impose itself on Mexican sovereignty or just wants to wall ourselves off. And in both countries, such distortions create misunderstandings that make it harder for us to move forward together. So I\u2019ve come to Mexico because I think it\u2019s time for us to put the old mind-sets aside. It\u2019s time to recognize new realities, including the impressive progress of today\u2019s Mexico.<\/p>\n

MEXICANS: (applause)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. You note the God echo is back, the God reverb. Now, ladies and gentlemen, I think this is an outrage. We had the president of the United States apologizing to Mexican college students for the way illegal immigrants in this country are disrespected. We take in millions and millions of them here, in violation of law. We feed and clothe and educate them and provide them health care.<\/line><\/p>\n

The president of the United States is in Mexico apologizing for the attitudes of some Americans, that many Americans convey the old stereotype of Mexicans as illegal border crossers. He then apologized to these college students for America trying to impose itself on Mexican sovereignty. What? Would somebody explain that to me? I do not understand how we are trying to impose ourselves on Mexico.<\/p>\n

It would seem, if we want to discuss this, that it might actually be the opposite. Now, this is the kind of thing that Democrats say when we go to Iraq or when we engage in military activity to liberate the oppressed, the tyrannized. Democrats never like that, such as Iraq. They always run around saying, “We\u2019re trying to impose our way of life on people! We shouldn\u2019t do that. We shouldn\u2019t try and impose freedom.”<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s usually in the context of armed combat that they make this complaint. Now, we are not at war with Mexico. We haven\u2019t invaded. Quite the opposite. So I really don\u2019t understand the president apologizing to Mexican college students on behalf of people in this country because of the stereotypes in which you engage in when you talk about Mexicans, and for the attempt to impose America on them. I\u2019m at a loss, I must tell you.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, folks, this sound bite that I just played, if you have, despite my expert talents in explaining things, if you have not yet grasped the Limbaugh Theorem<\/a>, it\u2019s right here in this sound bite. Grab audio sound bite number one and play it again. There is a specific claim made by the president in this piece that illustrates the Limbaugh Theorem <\/a>to a T. As you listen to this, I want you to remember that Obama\u2019s not campaigning for office, that he is the president of the United States of America. He is the face of this country, and he has been for four and a half years.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, that\u2019s enough. Now, if he goes to Mexico as a candidate in 2008 and says that, that\u2019s one thing. He has been president for four and a half years, and he\u2019s down in Mexico talking about a country, America, that he has nothing to do with, it appears. If this country is attempting to impose itself on Mexico, who the hell would be doing that? There\u2019s only one man who has that power. I can\u2019t impose anything on Mexico. Neither can you. Nor can John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio. Only one man can impose America on Mexico.<\/p>\n

So here is Barack Obama going down to talk to the Mexican college students and sounding like he is as distant from the powers of America as the students are. (imitating Obama) “Well, you know, a lot of people in my country are doing this. A lot of people in my country think this, and the people of my country, five years they\u2019ve been trying to impose, uhhhh.” Who\u2019s the imposer? This is the Limbaugh Theorem illustrated to a T. Whatever America\u2019s doing, it hasn\u2019t anything to do with him. He\u2019s got nothing to do with it. Whatever\u2019s happening in America, it isn\u2019t his fault. He\u2019s got no connection to it. He\u2019s down talking to these Mexican students as though he\u2019s campaigning for office. As though he wants to fix all of these things wrong with America, but he\u2019s been in charge of it for four and a half years.<\/p>\n

So here\u2019s the sitting president of the United States of America traveling to Mexico speaking to Mexican citizens, apologizing and criticizing the country he leads and has been leading for four and a half years. This criticism is offered in such a way that that audience will not associate him with any of the complaints that he has about the country. Thus Obama can never be seen governing. His fingerprints can never be on anything. This is how he gets away with constantly criticizing this country and for often apologizing for it. But in reality he\u2019s criticizing himself. In reality he\u2019s apologizing for himself, in addition to this notion that America is trying to impose itself on Mexican sovereignty? What is that? No, I don\u2019t know what it means.<\/p>\n

If he\u2019s trying to make some disjointed connection to the way we are opposing immigration, and therefore opposing what Mexicans wish to happen, Mexicans want to come here but we\u2019re saying we got some blockheads this country: “No, you\u2019re not allowed here. We don\u2019t like you. We don\u2019t want you here.” That\u2019s what he\u2019s trying to convey. I think it\u2019s outrageous, folks. I think it\u2019s utterly outrageous to lie like this and to act as though he is not even involved in this country. Here\u2019s the next sound bite. This is drug violence in Mexico. Guess what? America\u2019s problem.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: (godlike reverb) We understand that much of the root cause of violence that\u2019s been happening here in Mexico, from which so many Mexicans have suffered, is the demand for illegal drugs in the United States. We also recognize that most of the guns used to commit violence here in Mexico come from the United States. Many of you know that in America our Constitution guarantees our individual right to bear arms. And as president, I swore an oath to uphold that right, and I always will. But at the same time, as I\u2019ve said in the United States, I will continue to do everything in my power to pass common-sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people that can save lives here in Mexico and back home in the United States. It\u2019s the right thing to do. (applause)<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Any of you in this country that live in Mexico or have lived, I want to tell you about a program called Fast and Furious that you might not have heard of. Fast and Furious was a program created by President Obama and his attorney general, Eric Holder. And here\u2019s what Fast and Furious was. Guns that were legally in gun shops in Arizona were purchased by agents of the administration and then taken to Mexico. Those guns, AK-47s and other very powerful weapons like them, were then given to the leaders of drug cartels. That is how American guns got into the hands of Mexican criminals. The president of the United States had a plan to make it happen.<\/p>\n

Now, you might be saying, “Rush, Rush, why would a president do that?” Because the president looked at the polls and saw the American people were not in favor of any new gun control laws. He and the Democrats were very angry about that. The American people in poll after poll after poll wanted no new gun control laws. They wanted no new action taken on the Second Amendment. But the president and the Democrat Party don\u2019t like you having guns, so what they thought they would do, come up with a plan that would put guns from America in the hands of the most dangerous violent people in Mexico, knowing full well what they would do with them.<\/p>\n

Once you take guns from Phoenix gun shops across the border to Mexico, put them in the hands of drug cartel leaders, what\u2019s gonna happen? People are gonna get shot down. They\u2019re gonna get murdered, maimed in mass numbers. That\u2019s what was supposed to happen. Then the next thing that was supposed to happen is that the news media was supposed to hear about this and express outrage and blaring headlines across the country were supposed to say: “Guns from America end up in the hands of drug lords, and 200 people were killed yesterday.” And people were supposed to say, “My God, we gotta do something about guns. I mean, my God, if guns from Phoenix are ending up in drug cartel hands in Mexico, we\u2019ve got a problem.”<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what was supposed to happen. Violent mayhem and death was supposed to occur with guns provided Mexican trucking cartel leaders by this administration so that you, upon reading those headlines, would throw up your hands in utter disgust and demand new gun control. That was the purpose of the program Fast and Furious. Now, it didn\u2019t work. Those guns, by the way, were not even tracked. Because they didn\u2019t want any proof. It was a stealth program that was uncovered. The only person in America that died is a Border Patrol agent, a man named Brian Terry. So for the president of the United States, in that sound bite you heard him say much of the root cause of violence that\u2019s happening in Mexico, Americans\u2019 fault.<\/p>\n

Yep, it\u2019s the demand for illegal drugs. Well, who\u2019s making the drugs available? Mexican drug cartels, aren\u2019t they? Yeah, you have the demand, but who\u2019s on the supply side? People on the supply side have no responsibility here as far as the president is concerned. The Mexican drug cartels have no relevance here. So it\u2019s the demand for illegal drugs in America that\u2019s leading to Mexican death. And we realize, he said, that most of the guns used to commit violence in Mexico come from the United States. That also is not true. He tried to make it true. But it isn\u2019t true.<\/p>\n

The Mexican drug cartels are getting guns on their own. But they are getting some here, and they had a great idea. Let\u2019s make sure they get more. This is a great way to turn public opinion. That was the objective. It didn\u2019t work, but that\u2019s what they tried. And then to Mexican students, a lecture on the Constitution and the Second Amendment and how he always supports it, but he\u2019s gonna do everything in his power to pass common sense reforms that keep guns out of the hands of criminals and dangerous people.<\/p>\n

What does that matter to these people in Mexico? American law on guns has absolutely no impact on crime. None whatsoever. They do not live under the US Constitution! It doesn\u2019t affect them. The Second Amendment is irrelevant to people that live in Mexico. What the hell is he talking about? What does American policy, what does American constitutional law have anything to do with people in Mexico, particularly students? Beyond teaching them something, but that\u2019s not what he\u2019s doing.<\/p>\n

He goes down to Mexico and he starts blaming this country for everything going wrong in their country. Who\u2019s been president for 4-1\/2 years? If guns are ending in the hands of drug cartels in Mexico, if American guns, how\u2019s that happening? Who\u2019s been president for 4-1\/2 years? Who is it that actually concocted a program to see to it that guns from American gun shops ended up in the hands of Mexican drug cartel leaders? Him, Eric Holder, his regime. This whole thing is outrageous. Who is the president?<\/p>\n

Who is, therefore, responsible for all of this horrible, rotten things he\u2019s telling these Mexican students about?<\/p>\n

OBAMA: (godlike reverb) We\u2019re so grateful to Mexican-Americans in every segment of our society who are teaching our children and running our companies and serving with honor in our military and making breakthroughs in science and standing up for social justice. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said to Cesar Chavez once, “We are brothers in the fight for equality,” and, in fact, without the strong support of Latinos including so many Mexican-Americans I would not be standing here today as president of the United States. That\u2019s the truth.<\/line><\/p>\n

MEXICANS: (cheers and applause)<\/p>\n

RUSH: So he wanted to thank them for their votes, in addition. He wouldn\u2019t be president without them. He\u2019s in Mexico, folks, thanking them for his election. He\u2019s thanking illegal immigration for his election. Byron York has done a fascinating story in the DC Examiner. Do you know…? Let me give it to you in a nutshell, and I\u2019ll explain it in detail later on. If Mitt Romney had received 70% of the Hispanic vote, he would still have lost the presidency. That\u2019s how small the Hispanic vote was.<\/p>\n

Just 7% of the electorate was Hispanic.<\/p>\n

If Romney had gotten 70% of the Hispanic vote, he would still have lost.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the Republican Party doing? They\u2019re desperately trying to get 70% of the Hispanic vote. Anyway, that\u2019s another subject. So it\u2019s America\u2019s fault. We\u2019re imposing our way on \u2019em. We\u2019re imposing our will on \u2019em. We are stereotyping them. We\u2019re making fun of \u2019em. We\u2019re laughing at \u2019em. So Obama went to Mexico to apologize for all that. Then he apologized for all the American guns that end up in Mexico where people are getting killed. Then he apologized for American drug users. And then he lectured them on the Second Amendment, and then he thanked them for their votes.<\/p>\n

This is the president of the United States doing all this, today.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, folks, here is what Obama means by sovereignty, imposing our sovereignty. Do you want to know what it means? Get ready. What he means is America is imposing our sovereignty by asserting that Southern California and other parts of the southwest United States are part of America. La Raza and other Mexican groups have never consented that Southern California is America, and Obama\u2019s essentially agreeing with that.<\/p>\n

When he says that we\u2019re imposing sovereignty on Mexico, what Obama\u2019s essentially saying is he agrees with them that California\u2019s not ours, that parts of New Mexico and Arizona are not ours. They belong to Mexico. That\u2019s what the president of the United States just said this morning to Mexican students. Now, where is he? He\u2019s in Mexico. He\u2019s in Mexico City, at the Anthropology Museum, speaking in stereotypes, which is what he does.<\/p>\n

He creates all these straw men.<\/p>\n

In his case, it means attacking America.<\/p>\n

See, he\u2019s better than America. He\u2019s bigger than America! America\u2019s this chump bunch. He\u2019s doing what he can, but my God! What a bunch of embarrassing hayseeds he has to be president of. But he\u2019s working hard. He\u2019s trying to drag America forward in the twenty-first century so that it\u2019s everything Mexico is. Now, when he\u2019s down talking to the Mexican students, does he talk to \u2019em about Mexico\u2019s immigration policy?<\/p>\n

Does he talk about Mexico\u2019s need to reform its government and social policies? Did he talk about how America helps Mexico financially with bailouts? How we mistreat our illegals? Oh, they all get welfare and health care and education when they come here, and their children do. Yeah, we\u2019re really rotten! And if we\u2019re trying to impose our sovereignty on \u2019em, why is it that practically every phone call you make, the first thing you hear is, “Press one for English”?<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. So this was a campaign stop for 2014. Obama\u2019s not leaving it up to black turnout to win the House in 2014. This is a full push for the Hispanic vote 2014 midterms. That\u2019s what this was. He has to campaign against America.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The mainstream media told us that it\u2019s a myth that Obama apologizes for this country when he goes abroad. He just apologized to students in Mexico City at the Anthropology Museum. I mean, they told us that he doesn\u2019t apologize, that we just make that up, it\u2019s just a myth. Now, folks, let me tell you something. This sovereignty business, this is significant. This is not a throwaway. That\u2019s a dog whistle. That\u2019s the latest term, that we conservatives are sending out dog whistles, you know, things that only other conservatives translate and recognize when they hear. It gets \u2019em whipped up into a frenzy. The media claims we dog whistle on things about race and sexual orientation and all that.<\/p>\n

Let me tell you something. Obama apologizing to these students for America imposing its sovereignty on Mexico, that, folks, is a huge dog whistle to radicalized young Hispanic voters. What Obama has just done is send signals to that voting bloc beneath the radar, \u2019cause most people are not even gonna pay any attention to it. They\u2019re just going to say, “Oh, wow, it\u2019s really great our president was talking to some Mexican students, Ethel. It was really cool, and the Mexican students loved our president. It was really neat out there. Did Jay-Z go with him, I wonder? Was Beyonce there?” That\u2019s gonna be the extent of it. To people like La Raza, radicalized young Hispanic voters — Obama\u2019s always done this. If anybody engages in dog whistles, it is President Obama.<\/p>\n

This radicalized Hispanic voting bloc that\u2019s out there under the radar — he usually does this in Hispanic media. Telemundo, Univision. He counts on the mainstream of America not hearing or understanding what he\u2019s saying. But we just blew his cover decoding this. I won\u2019t be surprised if we get some blowback on this. They\u2019ll start calling me a bunch of names and accusing me of making things up or accusing me of harboring hate for all these people. Accusing me of, once again, Limbaugh goes off on an extreme tangent, expect something like that, because this is huge. There are radicalized Mexicans, California\u2019s still theirs, particularly Southern California. Arizona, New Mexico, radicals. And Obama\u2019s just fueled \u2019em. He just told \u2019em he agrees with \u2019em.<\/p>\n

When he goes down there, when he apologizes, what did he say? (imitating Obama) “And let\u2019s admit it, some Mexicans think that America disrespects Mexico or thinks that America\u2019s trying to impose itself on Mexican sovereignty or just wants to wall ourselves off. So I\u2019ve come to Mexico \u2019cause I think it\u2019s time for us to put the old mind-sets aside, recognize a new reality.” And he apologized! So he\u2019s dog whistling to \u2019em. He\u2019s letting them know he knows what they think and he\u2019s on their side. No, no, no. When he talks about putting old mind-sets aside, he\u2019s not talking about them. He\u2019s talking about us. This is a big deal.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t talk about Mexico immigration policy. He didn\u2019t talk about Mexico\u2019s need to reform its government, its socialist policies. He didn\u2019t talk about how America helps Mexico financially. He didn\u2019t talk about how we feed and clothe and educate and provide health care to even those from Mexico who are illegally in the United States. The sovereignty business, if you wanted to go to an extreme, you could almost say that Obama has it actually backwards, that it\u2019s Mexico imposing its sovereignty on us. Because we are being made to feed, clothe, and house and provide health care for its citizens. Is Mexico doing that for American citizens? Huh! Try to go down there and become a Mexican. You can\u2019t do it. Their immigration laws, you don\u2019t even want to mess with it, folks. You do not want to mess with it. They do not play games with their immigration.<\/p>\n

When has a president of the United States ever attacked America\u2019s sovereignty? I think this is a first. I am not aware of any president ever attacking America\u2019s sovereignty. And in coded language, which is what this was, he\u2019s winking and nodding and dog whistling to the radicalized — not all of them — the radicalized Hispanics. (imitating Obama) “I get it, I get it, we should never have taken Mexico. It\u2019s really yours. I get it, I get it. We\u2019ve been mean. We\u2019ve been imposing our way too long.” Time for a new mind-set.<\/p>\n

We have a story here from April 5th of 2011: “Most Illegal Immigrant Families Collect Welfare.” Judicial Watch. “Surprise, surprise; Census Bureau data reveals that most U.S. families headed by illegal immigrants use taxpayer-funded welfare programs on behalf of their American-born anchor babies.” Not to mention the chain.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not a bad people. We are not a bad people. We\u2019re one of the most compassionate people in the world. And the president of the United States has to go down and apologize for it. But again, let me say, the Limbaugh Theorem. Obama was speaking to these people as though he\u2019s got nothing to do with what he says is wrong here. It\u2019s exactly what he does. He speaks in stereotypes, creates straw men, and today\u2019s straw man was America, the whole country. So he\u2019s down there. The attitude in this speech was, he\u2019s better than America. He\u2019s bigger than America. Working hard on fixing it.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s doing everything he can, but, man, there\u2019s a lot of blockheads in my country and there\u2019s a lot of racists in my country and there\u2019s a lot of bitter clingers in my country. There\u2019s a lot of people that harbor old stereotypes about you in my country. I\u2019m doing everything I can, but, boy, it\u2019s hard, a bunch of blockheads in my country. I\u2019m trying to drag my country in the twenty-first century so we\u2019ll be as progressive as you are. This is what he told them. That is what his message was.<\/p>\n

One more sound bite from Mexico. This is the final portion of his remarks to the students at the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City today.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: The immigration system we have in the United States right now doesn\u2019t reflect our values. It separates families when we should be reuniting them. It\u2019s left millions of people to live in the shadows. It deprives us of the talents of so many young people, even though we know that immigrants have always been the engine of our economy, starting some of our greatest companies and pioneering new industries. That\u2019s one of the reasons I acted to lift the shadow of deportation from what we call the dreamers, young people brought to the United States as children. And that\u2019s why I\u2019m working with our Congress to pass common-sense immigration reform this year. (applause) I\u2019m convinced we can get it done.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (imitating Obama) “The immigration system that we have in the United States right now does not reflect our values. Now, the immigration system that we have is a set of laws which are not being enforced. And those laws do not reflect our values. And he promises this time, we\u2019re gonna really get it right. We did amnesty once back in 1986, and we\u2019re gonna do it again for you. Yep. Not only are we not gonna enforce the laws we have on the books now because they don\u2019t reflect our values, we\u2019re gonna sue any state that tries to, like I did in Arizona. Right now our backwards immigration law separates families when we should be reuniting them. It\u2019s led millions of people to live in the shadows and it\u2019s depriving the United States of the talent of so many young people. What a rotten place, is the United States of America. What an absolutely rotten place.<\/p>\n

“Now, I know I\u2019ve been president of it for four and a half years, but don\u2019t hold it against me. I\u2019m better than America and I\u2019m bigger than America and I\u2019m trying to drag America in the twenty-first century so they\u2019re just as progressive as you are. I realize that you\u2019re embarrassed by me country. I\u2019m embarrassed by my country, but I want you to know that I\u2019m working as hard as I can so that you can be as proud of America as you are of Mexico. I realize you\u2019re angry. I realize you\u2019re embarrassed. I realize you know that we are imposing our sovereignty on you by claiming California and Arizona, New Mexico as our own.<\/p>\n

“I agree with you that that\u2019s not right. And I agree with you that our immigration policy stinks, that you ought to be able to come to our country any time you want and leave any time you want and get on any welfare plan or any job or whatever that you want, just because you want it. I know my country ass backwards because it won\u2019t let you do that, but I\u2019m trying to fix it. I\u2019ve been president for four and a half years, and because I\u2019m so ineffective I haven\u2019t been able to, but I\u2019m working very hard. I\u2019ve got these people called Republicans standing in my way, and I got this thing called talk radio standing in my way, and I got the bitter clingers in my country, a bunch of hayseeds. But I\u2019m working on it, and I want you to be proud of me, because, like you, I\u2019m not proud of my country.”<\/p>\n
