He\u2019s under 50%, and the media is worried about this. They\u2019re not accustomed to Obama being underwater. They\u2019re accustomed to Obama, no matter what\u2019s happening in the country, being at 55%. They\u2019re accustomed to whatever\u2019s happening in the country not attaching itself to Obama.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_75069\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaGunQUote.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><BR\/>Now it looks like some of it might be attaching itself to Obama, and they\u2019re a little bit concerned about it, and it may even be that Obama\u2019s concerned about it. Did you hear what he said in Connecticut? Let me find this exact quote. (interruption) No, no, not the worst day of his presidency. It was something about how we can\u2019t make it as easy for them to gun down or kids or some such thing. This quote is so&#8230; I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t even know how to characterize it. It\u2019s not presidential, for one thing.<\/line><BR\/>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Here\u2019s Obama. This is Hartford, Connecticut. To me this is disgusting and it\u2019s another illustration of the Limbaugh Theorem. Can you imagine what these parents are going through in Connecticut, still, and to be trotted out as props for the advancement of an Obama policy? I don\u2019t know what that must feel like, but here\u2019s what our president said.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: We have to tell Congress it\u2019s time to restore the ban on military-style assault weapons &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (wild cheering)<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: &#8212; and a ten-round limit for magazines to make it harder for a gunman to fire 154 bullets into his victims in less than five minutes!<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (wild cheering)<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: Let\u2019s put that to a vote!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I don\u2019t think there\u2019s anything on the table, there\u2019s no proposal on the table that would have stopped what happened at Sandy Hook elementary. But his next bite contains the quote that just has me puzzled.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: I\u2019ve heard some in the Washington press suggest that what happens to gun violence legislation in Congress this week will either be a political victory or defeat for &#8230; me! Connecticut, this is not about me.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Bull.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_3-cTiQfH5A\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: This is not about politics.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: It\u2019s all about you.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: This job do the right thing &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (wild cheering)<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: &#8212; for all the families who are here that have been torn apart by gun violence!<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (wild cheering)<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: That\u2019s what this is about!<\/p>\n<p>FOLLOWERS: (wild cheering)<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: This is not about politics!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yes, it is.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: This is not about politics. This is about these families, and families all across the country, who are saying, &#8220;Let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: What in the hell does that mean? &#8220;Let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.&#8221; Why don\u2019t you go to Chicago and drag those people into your speech? What in the name of Sam Hill&#8230;? In the list of quotes of great presidents, can you see this one? &#8220;Let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.&#8221; I mean, if we\u2019re gonna get gunned down, let\u2019s make it really hard to do. What in the&#8230;? For crying out loud, folks, where are we here?<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: A Politician &#8212; a Politician with a capital P.<\/p>\n<p>A Politician in front of a crowd that he has arranged that is made up of parents of victims of random gunfire in a school, says (impression), &#8220;This isn\u2019t about politics.&#8221; Right. A Politician. The country\u2019s leading Politician. The country\u2019s craftiest Politician, the country\u2019s most adept Politician, the country\u2019s slickest Politician, says, &#8220;This isn\u2019t about politics!&#8221; Yeah? What else is it about, then? Who are you? All you do is politics, yet this isn\u2019t about politics? Yeah, right.<\/p>\n<p>(impression) &#8220;It isn\u2019t about me. Thiiiiis isn\u2019t about me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_75067\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaWaronAmerica.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It isn\u2019t? It isn\u2019t about you? I still, ladies and gentlemen&#8230; &#8220;This is about these families and families all across the country who are saying, &#8216;Let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.'&#8221; &#8220;Four score and seven years ago, our forefathers&#8230;&#8221; &#8220;Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.&#8221; &#8220;Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!&#8221; (impression) &#8220;Hey, let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.&#8221; Now, maybe I\u2019m a lone wolf.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe in today\u2019s lost culture and in today\u2019s lost society dominated by low-information people, that sings. Maybe that is a great melody. Maybe that is a profundity. Maybe that\u2019s a great statement. The president of the United States, with family members of kids killed at a school, says (impression), &#8220;Let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.&#8221; A little harder? (impression) &#8220;Let\u2019s acknowledge that our kids are gonna get gunned down. Let\u2019s just make it harder.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our kids are gonna get gunned down, \u2019cause there are too many guns. But let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.&#8221; Does anybody really care why this is happening? Is it just me, or is there an acknowledgement, if you will &#8212; an acceptance &#8212; of the decay and deterioration of the culture that kids are gonna get gunned down. So, since kids are gonna get gunned down, let\u2019s make it harder for the &#8220;gun-downers&#8221; to get away with gunning down our kids. And how are we gonna do that? (impression)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, we\u2019re gonna get rid of those ten-clip magazines and we\u2019re gonna get rid of 45-clip magazines. We\u2019re gonna get rid of magazines, get rid of clips, and automatic weapons!&#8221; These clowns have no idea what they\u2019re talking about and they\u2019re not even getting to the root problem. Do you think the existence of guns is what drove Adam Lanza into that classroom? Or could it be the kid was zoned out on drugs that maybe he didn\u2019t need to be on? Could it just be that the kid was just mentally ill and ought not to have been walking around free as a bird?<\/p>\n<p>Is anybody really interested in getting to the bottom of why Gabby Giffords got shot? Why did that trigger-puller do what he did? What was it? Was it the existence of the gun? Was it the fact that there aren\u2019t enough laws in Washington that enabled it? Of course not! So, once again, we have a series of tragedies being utilized and purely politicized by the Democrat Party for the express advancement of their agenda &#8212; which is grow government and less freedom for every citizen. That\u2019s what this is about.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_75068\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaBenghaziFastFurious.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s being made to look like it\u2019s about saving kids. It\u2019s being made to look like it\u2019s about safety. It\u2019s being made to look like it\u2019s about the fact that we care about all this. But what it really is about is the same thing Obamacare is about, and the same thing the stimulus was about, and the same thing Fast and Furious was about, the same Solyndra is about, and the same thing all the greens policies are about. It\u2019s all about expanding the government, shrinking the private sector, taking away economic prosperity and liberty at the same time &#8212; and all of that\u2019s taking place under false premise.<\/p>\n<p>(impression) &#8220;Let\u2019s make it a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.&#8221; I don\u2019t know, folks. That one, I didn\u2019t hear it. I heard it with you for the first time today. I don\u2019t turn the TV on to news much anymore. It\u2019s too depressing. I just don\u2019t care to see a bunch of human debris celebrating Margaret Thatcher\u2019s death. I just don\u2019t want to watch it. It\u2019s getting harder and harder to watch what passes for news and all that on cable networks when it\u2019s just an endless parade of stupidity and ignorance. So I watch real mayhem and murder: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=12812\">Game of Thrones<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, I got into it over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>I did. I started season one.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=12812\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_75072\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushGameofThronesWalkingDead.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I wanted to find out what it\u2019s all about. I had seen episode one, the first 20 minutes of it, and I don\u2019t like medieval stuff. You know, when they start gutting animals and ripping the intestines out, &#8220;Okay, time to change the channel.&#8221; Just not my cup of tea. But I stuck with this, and I understand why it has captivated people. I haven\u2019t read any of the Game of Thrones books but I\u2019ve caught up. I went back to episode one, season one, and watched. A bad omen, though. I got to episode one, season two late yesterday afternoon and I found myself doing other things while it was on &#8212; without hitting the pause button.<\/p>\n<p>So it may be harder for me to stick with it during season two, but I shall endeavor. <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I\u2019ve gotta play this now just to make sure I don\u2019t leave it behind. It\u2019s Good Morning America. George Stephanopoulos and Jeff Zeleny of the New York Times were worrying, fretting over Obama\u2019s approval numbers being underwater, particularly on gun control.<\/p>\n<p>STEPHANOPOULOS: We\u2019re gonna turn to President Obama\u2019s all-hands-on-deck push for gun control. He flew in families of the Newtown victims on Air Force One last night, hoping they can convince lawmakers to back some kind of compromise on the key issue of background checks for gun buyers. ABC\u2019s Jeff Zeleny is covering all this from the Capitol. And, Jeff, the president needs all the help he can get. Resistance continues to grow!<\/p>\n<p>ZELENY: That\u2019s right, George. The president is facing stiff headwinds on his gun-control plan, with a new CNN poll this morning showing that 52% of Americans disapprove of how President Obama is handling gun control. But now the president is hoping that a bipartisan agreement can be reached before the momentum slips away.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MRC TV video player\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mrctv.org\/embed\/120770\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Uh-oh. See, they don\u2019t like this. They\u2019ve been operating under the theory, the narrative that the country became 100% liberal when Romney lost. They\u2019ve been operating on the theory that a massive majority of Americans support everything they want to do. They are learning that that isn\u2019t the case. Not that it will matter, not that it will stop them, but it still has them discombobulated. It just means they\u2019re gonna have to take another route to get what they want.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If the people don\u2019t want it, to hell with that! We\u2019ll just have to take a different route, such as any executive something or other.&#8221; Yeah, just what they did with Obamacare. Nobody wanted that and they found a way to get it done, but they\u2019re a little worried because they want Obama to be loved and the number one celebrity in the country and all that and 52% of the people do not support his gun control proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, that\u2019s gonna be a difficult thing for them to compute, to comprehend. In their view, the public, if they\u2019re gonna support Obama on anything, it would be his gun control bill. They just can\u2019t believe that 52% of the people do not want this. Same thing with immigration. They don\u2019t care. Same thing with health care. But gun control! I mean, gun control\u2019s that latest orgasm they\u2019re all waiting to have. It\u2019s almost like they don\u2019t have a willing partner here, so it isn\u2019t gonna be as much fun.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Jay Carney, the White House press briefing this afternoon, a question from ABC Radio White House reporterette Ann Compton. She said, &#8220;In President Obama\u2019s talks with the Newtown parents, would background checks have made any difference in Newtown, Jay?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CARNEY: There would still be gun violence in America, there\u2019s no question.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Really.<\/p>\n<p>CARNEY: But it\u2019s incumbent upon those lawmakers who were sent here by their constituents and incumbent upon the president and the vice president who were elected by the entire country to do whatever they can that is sensible and common sense that will reduce gun violence, that will save the lives of children like the children of Newtown. It won\u2019t eliminate the problem, but the problem needs to be addressed.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Right, it won\u2019t eliminate the problem, but that\u2019s not the point. We\u2019re talking about it, and that\u2019s all that matters, so shut up. Don\u2019t ask me whether what we\u2019re doing\u2019s gonna work. That\u2019s not the point. The point is we\u2019re talking about it and we care, and we gotta make it harder for our kids to get gunned down.  That\u2019s what we\u2019re doing, shut up. We need common sense. We need sensible, common sense that will reduce gun violence. And we need the president working on it, the vice president working on it, all these state and local legislatures working, everybody caring. There\u2019s still gonna be gun violence after we do this. There\u2019s still gonna be gun violence, no question about that, but we still gotta do something.  Why don\u2019t you tax it? Tax gun violence. Go tax the family of Adam Lanza, whatever. Yes, I\u2019m a little testy today. I have reasons for it, but I\u2019m not gonna bother you with it.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: To Monroe, Louisiana, this is Lonnie. I\u2019m glad you called. Great to have you and welcome to the program.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Thank you so much, Rush. Two things I want to say. People like the president and Piers Morgan, they have only two choices for those parents in Newtown and their children. Either you wait until that gunman changes his clip and maybe your children can run out, or they wait for the police. Those are the only two choices that they are giving them. God forbid if a janitor could have taken him out when he was busting the door down, and no one would have gotten killed. But they don\u2019t want anyone else with a gun but the gunman or the police. It\u2019s crazy, Rush.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: It is crazy.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: This is what the president and Piers Morgan and people of that ilk have. Either they wait until the gunman changes his clip and maybe jam, or wait until the policemen get there. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, I mean, you heard the president. We\u2019re gonna make a little harder for our kids to get gunned down.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Waited until he was out of seven, not 50 clips to change or a hundred clips, but wait until he shoots seven times, and then time he does it, I like kids, I guess they\u2019re gonna have to start training the children when it\u2019s seven clips, you all get ready to run out.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, look, what you\u2019re saying is only an armed person can stop a shooter.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: But what they think is that a bunch of people could rush the shooter and disarm him while he\u2019s changing clips.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Right, right. Or a jam. What if there are no jams? What if he changes in two seconds and no one &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: But you understand, Lonnie &#8212; (crosstalk)<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: &#8212; people are gonna rush a gunman?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Lonnie, you understand that this bunch cannot possibly ever support the concept of additional guns. They\u2019re all about taking guns away from people.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Exactly. But yet the president has his Secret Service. I would think Piers Morgan probably has bodyguards.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, they\u2019re special people, Lonnie. They\u2019re special, they\u2019re really important people.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: That\u2019s right, so what they\u2019re telling those parents is, even though I have bodyguards, I have Secret Service, your little angels have nothing but waiting until he runs out of clips &#8212;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_75076\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaCampaignerandChief2PIX.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Lonnie, are you telling me that the president\u2019s life is no more important than any of these other people or Piers Morgan\u2019s life?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Now we\u2019re opening up a whole other&#8230; I guess he and Piers Morgan, they don\u2019t want to be down with the little people, I guess. And these are little people in these schools. So they can just go back to the White House, go back to their desk &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, Lonnie &#8212; (crosstalk)<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: &#8212; their security &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You understand this. You\u2019re exactly right. There are two sets of rules in this country. There\u2019s one set of rules for the important people, and one set of rules for the people that make the rules, one set of rules for the elites and there\u2019s another set of rules for all the rest of us.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  All I\u2019m saying, Rush, is they\u2019re not offering &#8212; when LaPierre says maybe a janitor or a teacher, or someone, if someone could have had a gun and stopped him. But I heard &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, here\u2019s a &#8212; (crosstalk)<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: &#8212; that\u2019s all we need, is other guns &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: What do you think about this, what do you think about eliminating the whole no-gun zone, the gun-free zone?  Take the signs down, get rid of the notion, stop telling people, &#8220;Hey, guess what? There are no guns in this school.&#8221; It\u2019s an open invitation.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Well, it seems that way because what are the gunmen doing? They\u2019re picking out areas that the people have no guns.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: That\u2019s my point.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, look, I\u2019m glad you called. Folks, she\u2019s exactly right.  It isn\u2019t complicated. Ten-magazine clips are never gonna be banned, and that\u2019s what most guns have, at least as I understand it. The vast majority of handguns, including the police, use ten-bullet clips. There was just a serial shooter in Serbia, killed 14 people. Serbia has really strict gun laws.  Gun laws that are more strict than what any of the current Democrat proposals are. In the Soviet Union guns were banned, too, but the powerful elite, they all had their armed guards in their offices, in their dachas, in their cars, wherever they went, but they\u2019re special people, see.<\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t say that the president shouldn\u2019t have an armed guard. Who do you think you are? We have to protect the president here? I guarantee you that if the president were under fire we wouldn\u2019t be waiting for the shooter to reload before making a move.
