RUSH: I was gonna see if the sound bite roster\u2019s got Wayne LaPierre on it, and… Okay. Nobody… Well, maybe I will use it if we get it down to it. Anyway, he went out, sat low, lied low for couple weeks. The NRA, of course, is to blame for what happened at Sandy Hook. Oh, yeah! The NRA is to blame. CNN has been ginning up hatred for the NRA for a week. The rest of the Drive-By Media has been ginning up hatred for the NRA for a week. The NRA was very classy and laid back for a week. They didn\u2019t say anything, didn\u2019t get involved, didn\u2019t attempt to exploit it one way or another. They are the greatest, the largest gun safety organization in the country. <\/p>\n

So LaPierre goes out today; he gets heckled, shouted down.<\/p>\n

And when he gets to the meat of what he\u2019s saying, CNN goes to a commercial break. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, we got the Wayne LaPierre sound bites. Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association went out today and had a press conference just before the program started. We have five sound bites. Here\u2019s the first…<\/p>\n

LAPIERRE: Does anybody really believe that the next Adam Lanza isn\u2019t planning his attack <\/a>on a school he\u2019s already identified at this very moment? How many more copycats are waiting in the wings for their moment of fame from a national media machine that rewards them with wall-to-wall attention and a sense of identity that they crave, while provoking others to try to make their mark? A dozen more killers? A hundred more? How can we possibly even guess how many?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: They hate this guy. They hate this guy! So now he\u2019s putting the onus on the media. He\u2019s putting the onus on Hollywood as you\u2019ll hear coming up. “How many copycats? How many people are targeting their schools, and on what basis are they targeting them?” Here\u2019s the next LaPierre sound bite…<\/p>\n

LAPIERRE: There exists in this country — sadly — a callous, corrupt, and corrupting shadow industry that sells and sows violence against its own people through vicious, violent video games. Here\u2019s one. (sigh) It\u2019s called Kindergarten Killers. It\u2019s been online for ten years. How come my research staff can find it and all of yours couldn\u2019t, or didn\u2019t want anyone to know you had found it? <\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s a video game, “Kindergarten Killers.” Ten years, it\u2019s out there. See, but you don\u2019t do this. He\u2019s calling attention to the stuff that everybody wants ignored or papered over or, in fact, defended. “Oh, come on! Hollywood had nothing to do with it. Just grow up. These people are doing it on their own.” The only time the left ever supports personal responsibility is when their institutions are under assault. Here\u2019s the next LaPierre bite…<\/p>\n

LAPIERRE: We have blood-soaked films out there like American Psycho, Natural Born Killers. They\u2019re aired like propaganda loops, and every single day. A child growing up in America today witnesses 16,000 murders and 200,000 acts of violence by the time he or she reaches the ripe old age of 18. Throughout it all, too many in the national media, their corporate owners, and their stockholders act as silent enablers if not complicit coconspirators. Rather than face their own moral failings, the media demonize gun owners.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who had nothing to do with it! They had nothing whatsoever to do with it. In fact, I\u2019d venture to say that 99% of the gun owners in this country, had they been there, would have gone over and taken the shooter out, had they had the chance. But it was a “gun-free zone.” This next bite is some of the solutions that he\u2019s thinking about.<\/p>\n

LAPIERRE: The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. I can imagine the headlines — the shocking headlines — you\u2019ll print tomorrow. Your implication will be that guns are evil and have no place in society, much less in our schools. But since when did the gun automatically become a bad word? With all the money in the federal budget, can\u2019t we afford to put a police officer in every single school?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: How many people want that, though? <\/p>\n

How many people want schools to become…? (interruption) You do? Well, see, here\u2019s the thing. Either deal with reality, or you say, “Let\u2019s roll back the clock to where such a thing isn\u2019t necessary,” and which is easier to do? Put the cop, the armed cop, the armed guard in the school…? Everybody knows he\u2019s there, just like the sky marshal. You know he\u2019s there but you don\u2019t know who he is on the airplane. <\/p>\n

You know you have a sky marshal. You know you have somebody with a weapon on this airplane, but you don\u2019t know who. You put somebody on there. Make \u2019em uniformed. Let everybody know who it is, but somebody\u2019s there. In every instance of these shootings, what is it that ends it? Somebody else shows up with a gun aimed at the perp. That\u2019s when he either commits suicide or runs for it and is shot or what have you. <\/p>\n

He doesn\u2019t complete it, doesn\u2019t finish it \u2019til somebody shows up that can stop him. I think most parents would probably say, “Yep, put an armed guard in there.” It would be easier than rolling back the clock a couple generations where it wasn\u2019t necessary because our culture hadn\u2019t spiraled out of control. But now that it has we gotta deal with it as it exists. Well, the media didn\u2019t like any of this. The media saw to it that some opponents of Wayne LaPierre by the name of Code Pink went in there.<\/p>\n
