CALLER: Well, Rush, Merry Christmas to you, and it\u2019s great to be on the phone with you as well.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Please don\u2019t change. Stay bitter and clinging. We love you that way.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) I can\u2019t change! I can\u2019t change who I am.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t want to change who I am. I love me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, so do we.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So for Christmas, don\u2019t change. The thing I wanted to say today was, as I listen to all the folks — and I am a gun advocate. So listening to all the folks that are talking about, you know, what\u2019s wrong and taking away the guns… First of all, the left is a culture of death. This is what they love, from aborted children to Dr. Kevorkian to all the individuals that they want to put out of our misery as we get older thanks to Obamacare<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait just a second.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But we basically abort 4,100 kids a day in this country since Roe v. Wade.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I want you to hang on. This is an interesting point. This is a fascinating point that you\u2019re making because you\u2019re right. The Democrat Party\u2019s a party of death. They are obsessed with it. Abortion, euthanasia, Kevorkian, Obamacare\u2019s death panels. But at the same time — and this is what\u2019s difficult for people. You know, all you have to do is say that the Democrat Party is the party of death and you realize we\u2019re not persuading anybody to agree with us when you put it that way. You understand that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I understand, but I\u2019ve never been politically correct in my life.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because people believe that the Democrat Party doesn\u2019t want you to die. They don\u2019t want you drinking anything over 16 ounces<\/a>. They don\u2019t want you eating trans fat. They want you to eat all the stuff they say to eat. Don\u2019t eat all the stuff you shouldn\u2019t eat. “You can live forever! You\u2019ll never get sick.” The Democrat Party is perceived as a bunch of people that can save you from death.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. But they are the culture of death. And then again, they\u2019re always out for our wellbeing. You know, our best mental well-being. That\u2019s why, you know, heaven forbid you can\u2019t have a cigarette commercial on television because you\u2019ll be so influenced that you might smoke. But heaven forbid, look at the movies, look at the video games, and the same people who want to help us have now closed all of the mental hospitals.<\/p>\n

We used to have a lot of state mental hospitals in western Pennsylvania. Based in Pittsburgh, you probably know. We had a lot that really did take care of the folks that a family could not — I mean, they just could not take care of them — and they closed them all. They mainstreamed the children to the schools, they forced them into group homes in neighborhoods, and therefore these poor folks have been forced to — uh, I\u2019m missing the word — basically, cope.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

They\u2019re being forced to cope in a culture which is not in their best interests. They\u2019re trying to pigeonhole these poor folks. And I have no doubt that, you know, Adam Lanza\u2019s mother was coping with a lot of that. I have no doubt that the lady that wrote the article the other day, “I am Adam Lanza\u2019s Mother”<\/a> is, too. These folks don\u2019t have the ability to cope with what they\u2019re dealing with every day. It\u2019s harming the other children in the family because of what they have to go through to protect the one youngster who can\u2019t function.<\/p>\n

Yet we\u2019re trying to force these kids to be normal and because of things not under their control, they were born and they were not being normal. They\u2019ve got issues. What\u2019s happened to our western Pennsylvania center? In the Pittsburgh area it was Mayview and all sorts of folks that were there were cared for by folks that understood, for their own safety, what needed to be done. Rush, I just don\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, these people have rights, and they can\u2019t be institutionalized or given medicine without their consent because they have rights. The ACLU is right in there. So, I know. It\u2019s a mess. It\u2019s a total mess.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
