This is Angus in Newburgh, New York, as we head back to the phones.  Great to have you on the program, sir, and hello.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Hello, sir.  Why is Boehner purging conservatives, and do you get the sense that House Republicans are dissatisfied enough with him that they would to want replace him with new leadership?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I\u2019m not sure about the latter yet, but, I\u2019ll tell you what, since you called, we have a couple of bites here from a conservative who was punished by Boehner, and he says he was booted because he voted against big government.  I mean this guy can explain it himself.  He was on Soledad O\u2019Brien\u2019s show this morning on CNN, and his name is Justin Amash.  He\u2019s a Republican from Michigan.  She says, &#8220;You learned you were kicked off a big deal of a committee. You went to Facebook and posted why.  What happened?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_70356\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/BoehnerAmash.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>AMASH:  It\u2019s pretty clear they had a score card. And if you were in support of more government you got a positive score. And if you were in support of less government you got a negative score, which seems completely contrary to what you\u00c2\u2019d expect for Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Right, so he said, &#8220;I didn\u2019t vote enough for big government. I didn\u2019t vote enough the way the leadership wanted me to, so they kicked me off the committee.&#8221;  She said, &#8220;That\u2019s certainly one line we\u2019ve heard. You guys that lost your committee positions were simply too conservative or too \u00c2\u2018tea party\u00c2\u2019 but others are saying because you guys went out of your way not only to vote against leadership but seemed like you were trying to embarrass them at times. What do you say about that?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AMASH:  That\u2019s totally ridiculous.  This is not a conservative versus liberal thing.  There are people like me in Congress who are out there representing the vast majority of Americans who want us to balance our budget.  It\u2019s not about who will work with Democrats or who will work with Republicans or who\u2019s too conservative.  It\u2019s about whether people are serious about getting things done to balance our budget.  And there are few of us who are very serious about it.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  And we were kicked off our committees because the current mode of thinking in the Republican Party, look, they\u2019re thinking we have to agree with amnesty and then gotta relax social issues, the Republican leadership thinks they gotta be for big government if they want to stay elected, and anybody who\u2019s not is considered a threat to where the party thinks they ought to go so they get off.  Does that answer it for you?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Well, not really.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  It doesn\u2019t?  I mean, I\u2019m not saying you have to agree with it, but you wanted to know why the purge of conservatives was happening, there\u2019s your answer.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  I just seems like a prima facie that spending\u2019s the problem.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  To you and me, yeah, but that\u2019s what he\u2019s telling you.
