RUSH: I mentioned to you the president is staying hunkered down and trying to act presidential in the White House, overseeing the recovery efforts for Hurricane Sandy, and he will remain in Washington to monitor the response and to ensure that all available federal resources continue to be provided. So he\u00c2\u2019s not gonna be on the trail. He\u00c2\u2019s got Moochelle out there sending e-mail and fundraising letters. Bill Clinton is out there campaigning for him, but Obama is not.<\/p>\n

And the latest from the Obama campaign, the latest thing they\u2019re doing on Romney is that Romney worked at Bain Capital. Which is a recycle. I mean, that\u2019s what… They started with that months ago. And now they\u2019re back to it. \u00c2\u201cRomney\u2019s an evil rich guy! He knows Wall Street people. He was at Bain Capital. He doesn\u2019t care about people.\u00c2\u201d They\u2019re back to that. It\u00c2\u2019s the third day, third day in a row Obama suspended his campaign, and a lot of people… <\/line>You know, the media — starting Sunday when the storm was on the verge of hitting — were actually speculating about how this could help Obama, which I thought was sick. You have what, 30 people dead now? The flooding, we\u2019ve seen the pictures, and media people are still today speculating on how this can help Obama. And some re saying, \u00c2\u201cIt\u2019s really helping him a lot. He looks presidential. You know, he\u2019s in charge and he looks in control, and he\u2019s in charge of who gets what and giving away stuff, and that\u2019s really good for Obama.\u00c2\u201d<\/line><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know. I think if you\u2019re running for reelection, you need to be out on the campaign trail. He\u2019s not there. You know, it adds to the belief on the part of some Democrats that he really doesn\u2019t want this. Some Democrats think that he doesn\u2019t look like somebody who really wants it. You know what somebody looks like when they really want something. You know what you\u2019ve done, what you\u2019ve felt like, what you\u2019ve been willing to do when you really wanted something. You\u2019ve seen it in other people.<\/p>\n

So have these other Democrats, and they\u2019re not seeing that in Obama. And a lot of people in Chicago, I might add, have that view of this. AP, a typically fawning AP: \u00c2\u201cObama Seeks to Project Presidential Leadership as Storm Shakes up Campaign — President Barack Obama the candidate stepped aside Monday so the commander in chief could take over.\u00c2\u201d You know, it\u2019s a shame he didn\u2019t think to be commander-in-chief back on September 11th in Benghazi and all that. <\/line>He\u00c2\u2019ll go all commander-in-chief on us in the hurricane aftermath but he didn\u2019t go commander-in-chief on us during terror attacks on our consulate in Benghazi. And you know despite all the praise Obama is getting here — and there is some — for nobly scratching his campaign… \u00c2\u201cScrapping the campaign, that\u00c2\u2019s a very noble thing. It\u2019s very big thing. He\u2019s got his priorities straight. He cares about people.\u00c2\u201d
