RUSH: “On Eve of Foreign Debate, Growing Pessimism about Arab Spring Aftermath.” Oh, no, what\u2019s this? This is a Pew Research Center story. Hmm, what\u2019s this? Ah. It\u2019s a poll. Here, listen to this, ladies and gentlemen. According to the latest Pew poll which was conducted October 4th through the 7th before the second debate and before the more recent revelations about Benghazi<\/a>, Romney has gained a whopping 11 points against Obama on foreign policy just since September. However, Obama still leads Romney on handling foreign policy. By the way, Pew oversampled Democrats by 4% here. However, their story begins thus.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“As next week\u00c2\u2019s third and final presidential debate on foreign policy approaches, a national survey by the Pew Research Center finds increasing public pessimism about developments in the Middle East.” Meaning, the Arab Spring no longer has people enthralled. Now, wait \u2019til these people find out the truth that we had for you today about Benghazi and the initial 24 hours and the video being used as a cover story for the fact that Al-Qaeda now has a beachhead in Benghazi as a result of our taking out Khadafy. Not looking particularly good. <\/p>\n

Now, there was a hubbub and a firestorm late yesterday afternoon. Obama, before going to the Alfred E. Smith dinner<\/a>, went over to Jon Stewart\u2019s show, and he taped an interview there, sixth appearance on The Daily Show. Let me grab sound bite number two. This is what it is. Jon Stewart said, “Is part of the investigation helping the communication between these divisions?” Stewart had no clue. He was clueless, he\u2019s asking a question obviously from the standpoint of the left and he\u2019s trying to give Obama some cover with this, but he didn\u2019t know yesterday what we now know, that there was no coordinated investigation to try to get to the bottom of the situation. It was a cover-up. <\/p>\n

“Is part of the investigation, Mr. President, helping the communication between these divisions? I mean not just what happened in Benghazi, but what happened within Benghazi, because I would say, even if you would admit, it was not the optimal response, at least to the American people, as far as all of us being on the same page.” I don\u2019t know what that question is. I think what he\u2019s asking Obama is, “Do you guys know what you\u2019re doing?” You have this investigation and the results here are not the best. It was not optimal here, as far as everybody understanding what went on. And this what Obama said.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: Here\u2019s what I\u2019ll say. If four Americans get killed, it\u2019s not optimal and we\u2019re gonna fix it, all of it, and — and what happens during the course of a presidency is that, you know, the government is a big operation. At any given time something screws up and you make sure that you find out what\u2019s broken and you fix it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you realize that government never screws up in health care. It never screws up in welfare. It never screws up in anything else it does. I mean, the government\u2019s the answer to everything in his world, but now, well, you realize, uh, during the course of the presidency government\u2019s a big operation and at any given time there\u2019s screw-ups. Anyway, people went ballistic when Obama said four Americans getting killed is not optimal. When I saw that he was pivoting off what Stewart said and using a word that Stewart used, it wasn\u2019t nearly as problematic for me, but I\u2019ll tell you all you need to know from this “optimal” thing. <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the real thing to know. Tells you everything, when Obama says “not optimal.” How come he has no reluctance whatsoever about calling this movie disgusting, reprehensible, everything else he\u2019s called it, but he can\u2019t bring himself to issue a clear-voiced condemnation of Islamic terror. Do you know he still has not called this a terrorist attack? Everybody thinks after the debate that he and Candy Crowley cooked up<\/a> there that he did call it a terror attack, and he didn\u2019t. And if people who watched the debate didn\u2019t watch the next day they don\u2019t know. Of course he didn\u2019t get a bounce out of that debate, folks. <\/a>Snerdley was stunned. He couldn\u2019t believe it, inside the Beltway experts, the elites can\u2019t believe it, Obama didn\u2019t get a bounce. And everybody said he won. Ha-ha-ha. But he didn\u2019t. I told you. <\/p>\n

But he can\u2019t bring himself to issue a clear-voiced condemnation of Islamic terror, but he will use “optimal” or agree with the use of optimal. They won\u2019t even call the Fort Hood terror attack a terror attack, even now. With the guy on trial they won\u2019t do that. You see in the alternative universe in which Obama lives, he doesn\u2019t live in Realville. There isn\u2019t any Al-Qaeda anymore. There isn\u2019t any terrorism. He vanquished it. Besides, even if there is some terrorism, you don\u2019t insult them by calling them that because that will just make them attack more. Conflict resolution 101. I mean that\u2019s the school the guy comes from. Yeah, ragging about killing Osama. He gets to flex his muscles there because there\u2019s no doubt Osama\u2019s a bad guy. Everybody agrees with that. So he\u2019s on safe ground. <\/p>\n

Anyway, this is the guy, let\u2019s keep in mind, this is the guy who can\u2019t bring himself to condemn terrorism, yet expects the public to follow along these elaborate lies and creations, their language screw ups like Romney and binders and stuff. I just don\u2019t think they\u2019re fooling anybody anymore.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, it has been brought to my attention by a friend in the e-mail that the “optimal” comment that Obama made might be a much bigger thing than any of us know because of where it happened: Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart\u2019s show, to the young skulls full of mush out there, is thought to be the real news, particularly among young skulls full of mush. It\u2019s thought to be the news. Stewart\u2019s base and many in the media hold Stewart\u2019s show in high regard, and Obama said something very cold and stupid in some people\u2019s mind, no matter whether Stewart led him into it and pivoted into it or Obama was pivoting off of it, “the death of four Americans is not optimal.” <\/p>\n
