RUSH: Livermore, California. Hi, Ray. Great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s great to have you, Rush, and your brother, you guys are a national treasure. I just wanted to compliment you, Rush, and I tell you, when I started listening to you, the left just flat-out ignored you and pretended you weren\u2019t there. Then when they couldn\u2019t pretend that anymore, they mocked you. Then they called you a disc jockey or a entertainer with an opinion. And then I don\u2019t know what happened, if there was a road or a bridge built outside of your studio, but you are no longer an entertainer, Rush. You\u2019re the de facto leader of the Republican Party.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The titular head.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, and you\u2019re operating the Romney campaign also. You are one amazing fellow, and I must say, you must have some fantastic roads and bridges there in Florida, because what else can it be, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think it\u2019s a great point. I live on a road. I drive on a road to get here, and I\u2019m real close to a bridge, real close to two bridges.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I\u2019ve been running a business for about 20 years, and I have a road in front of my business, but I don\u2019t have a bridge. I was wondering, who do I contact in the Obama administration to get myself a bridge so my business can be more successful?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it\u2019s a great point. Maybe the fastest thing would be to move somewhere where there\u2019s a bridge, much faster than to have one built. But, you know, you\u2019re very kind. Obviously you\u2019ve been listening to this program a long time. And it sounds like you take personally all this mindless criticism of me.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Rush, you know, it was supposed to be directed at Romney, but he didn\u2019t realize how badly he stepped in it when he directed it at the people who are responsible for the most job growth in the entire nation, which are small business owners who bust their butts every day to try to make this thing happen. And not because we\u2019re told to by a government agency —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — but because we want to do this.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re following your passions and whatever obstacles are put in your way, you try to find a way around \u2019em or over them or whatever. Ray, I\u2019m really glad you called. I appreciate it. Thank you very much. I am, folks. I mean, he\u2019s right. I am the titular head of the Republican Party. Always breast-feeding<\/a> the rest of everybody else.<\/p>\n
