Are you people aware that Obama gutted welfare reform<\/a> yesterday? Just gutted it with executive order to the Health and Human Services, just gutted, or I think it was HHS. Just gutted it. He just totally stripped away the requirements to work or to look for work in order to get welfare. You don\u2019t even have to look like you\u2019re looking for work. You don\u2019t even have to go through the motions. They\u2019re defining sleep as work now. I kid you not. Sitting on your sofa watching The View is now qualified as work. Well, some might say it\u2019s the same brain activity. But you remember how hard-fought welfare reform was and how many times Clinton vetoed it and how hard it was to get it passed, and how it\u2019s working. It was working. And so Obama just guts it with an executive order, just guts welfare reform. Let there be no doubt what this man\u2019s intentions are. Let there be no doubt that all of this economic disaster is not coincidence and not an accident. There is no way. <\/p>\n

So we\u2019ve got the distraction of the day. When did Mitt Romney leave Bain Capital? Stephanie Cutter, we told you this toward the end of the program yesterday, is out there saying Mitt Romney might be a felon<\/a>, might be a criminal. Romney said, “We want apology. This is over the top.” Krauthammer says they jumped the shark. David “Rodham” Gergen, all the people on CNN, “Oh, my God, this is horrible. What\u2019s happened to hope and change?” When are you people gonna realize, all you people in the media, on the left, when are you gonna realize this guy never was what you thought he was? <\/p>\n

He never is going to be what you thought he was. He\u2019s a fraud from the get-go. He\u2019s not something revolutionary and brand-new. The guy\u2019s a flat-out Marxist socialist, and he has every intention of taking this country and transforming it into a western European socialist democracy as soon as he can. That\u2019s all that\u2019s happening here, and he\u2019s in big trouble. He\u2019s got nothing he can get reelected on, so he\u2019s gotta hammer away at Romney. When did Romney leave Bain? You know, if I were Romney I\u2019d say, “I ran the Olympics while I was at Bain. I also invented the iPhone, and while I was inventing the iPhone I did all these…” If I were Romney I\u2019d wear this as proud mantel of Superman, “Yep, I\u2019m capable of doing all this.” And Obama\u2019s out there saying, (paraphrasing) “Well, he\u2019s not qualified. My job is to create jobs, and Romney doesn\u2019t know how to create jobs.” <\/p>\n

The fact that we\u2019re even debating whether Barack Obama\u2019s qualified to be anywhere near the White House is obscene to me. If anybody has demonstrated their lack of qualifications, it\u2019s Barack Obama. If anybody has demonstrated they\u2019re way over their head, it\u2019s Obama. If anybody\u2019s demonstrated that they got no business with the levers of power in this country, it\u2019s Barack Obama. And when did Romney leave Bain? Who cares! “But, Mr. Limbaugh, it might be a felony if he lied to the SEC. You don\u2019t understand SEC documents.” <\/p>\n

It\u2019s been debunked everywhere. Fortune\u2019s debunked it, TIME Magazine, the Washington Post, the fact they\u2019ve all debunked it and yet it survives as a story, how is that? Well, because it\u2019s the seriousness of the charge. Everybody in the Democrat Party in the media is knowingly pumping and sustaining a falsehood, something that\u2019s not even close to true, it\u2019s not even a story. Well, we\u2019re gonna look at it one more time. It\u2019s the seriousness of the charge. It\u2019s no different than the allegation by that Columbia professor, Gary Sick, that Bush 41 had a secret flight to France in 1980 on the SR-71 to negotiate with the Iranians to make sure they held our hostages through the election. And there was no such trip. Bush 41 never went to Paris. He didn\u2019t negotiate with the Iranians, and Tom Foley, Speaker of the House, said, “Well, we gotta look into this. It\u2019s the seriousness of the charge.” <\/p>\n

Now, the woman pushing this diatribe is a lunatic by the name of Stephanie Cutter, Obama\u2019s deputy campaign managerette. She was Bill Clinton\u2019s deputy communications director. She was the communications director for Ted Kennedy. She was the communications director for the Democrat National Committee. The communications director for the haughty John Kerry, who served in Vietnam, and his campaign. She even managed the communications and outreach strategery for Obamacare. So she\u2019s got a long track record as a professional disinformationalist. She is a professional. She is perhaps the most qualified disinformationalist in all of the Democrat Party. <\/p>\n

When did Romney leave Bain? No. When is Obama leaving the White House? That is the question. What can we do to make that a date certain? Now we\u2019re supposed to be concerned with what Romney did with his money. No. We\u2019re not concerned with what Romney did with his money. We are concerned with what Obama is doing with our money. Let\u2019s go to the audio sound bites. I got so ticked off I didn\u2019t even tell the engineer where I was starting on the sound bites today. This is Stephanie Cutter in all of her glory. This is on a conference call with reporters yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n

CUTTER: Either Mitt Romney, through his own words and his own signature, was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the SEC, which is a felony, or he was misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people to avoid responsibility for some of the consequences of his investment.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He didn\u2019t misrepresent anything. You people on the Obama side are so pathetic that this is all you\u2019ve got to try to bring back to life a story that\u2019s been dead for months and years. Is there one thing positive you can tell about your guy? Is there one story you can say that\u2019s positive about Barack Obama and his reign of terror? Is there one positive story you people can find? Is there one reason you can give people to vote for Obama? ‘Cause you can\u2019t. <\/line><\/p>\n

More people have heard about the Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes divorce, than have heard about the Supreme Court Obamacare ruling. Okay, this is CBS The Insider, Hollywood Reporter Staff Editor Sophie Schillaci reporting about a poll comparing what people know about the court and Tom Cruise.<\/p>\n

SCHILLACI: What we found was, among 18 to 49 years olds, 91% of people were aware of Tom and Katie\u2019s divorce. However, only 84% were aware of Obamacare being held up in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And they\u2019re no doubt happy about that at CBS. Anyway, grab John King next. Back to audio sound bite number 14. This is last night on Anderson Cooper “I\u2019m Getting Married.” Did you see that? Anderson Cooper\u2019s getting married. He\u2019s gonna marry the guy. He\u2019s gonna marry the guy goes to the gym with. I saw it in one of the New York tabloids yesterday. He\u2019s getting married to a guy. He\u2019s a big, muscle-bound guy, too. I saw that, coming out of the gym. His mother, Gloria Vanderbilt is urging him to get married.<\/p>\n

I tell you, CNN\u2019s desperate. But, anyway, he said he\u2019s getting married. Anyway, he\u2019s not there. John King is sitting in for Anderson Cooper. And they\u2019re talking about all this, and… No! I\u2019m sorry, Cooper is there. Cooper is there. Happy to be getting married, Cooper was at his own show. He had King on as a correspondent. And Cooper said, “The company is called Stericycle. What role if any did Romney have in that deal?”<\/p>\n

KING: (out of breath) In November 1999, uh, Bain did invest in a company called Stericycle. It\u2019s a medical waste company. Among the things it did — excuse me for saying this — was help dispose of aborted fetuses. Now, what some people inside the Romney campaign believe is that the Obama campaign would like to be able to say, “We\u2019ve now convinced you he was there into 2000. Well, in 1999 Mitt Romney, who says he\u2019s anti-abortion, invested in this company.” How would they use that? Nobody\u2019s quite certain. But inside the campaign, they think it could be used, say, on Christian radio [or] a direct mail piece late in the campaign to try to discourage turnout among social conservatives who would be absolutely critical to any Romney path to victory.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Okay. So here you have John King exposing the dirty motives that the regime has behind this Bain attack. He wasn\u2019t at the company in 2000! It doesn\u00c2\u2019t matter. The truth doesn\u2019t matter. They\u2019re going to tell the story and make Romney go out and say everything is not true and deny it. Did Romney sign on to legislation to get rid of human babies? They\u2019ll take this advertisement, and they\u2019ll run it. This is how low-down, skunk filthy these people are. This is all they\u2019ve got. And it\u2019s all based on lies, a hundred percent of it. Romney left Bain February 11th, 1999, and nobody disputes it other than the Obama campaign! And they know it\u2019s not true what they\u2019re saying.<\/p>\n

So David “Rodham” Gergen, he\u2019s up next here, and he\u2019s disgusted by all this. He wants to know whatever happened to “hope and change.”<\/p>\n

GERGEN: I talked today to two of the senior leaders of Bain Capital, people I\u2019ve known for a long time. What they said to a person is, “After February 1999, he made no calls on behalf of Bain Capital. He made no hiring decisions. He made no investment decisions.” Knowing what I know about the Bain Capital partnership, how I think that they are people of real integrity — they are very well regarded in Boston — I think that the Romney people… The burden is on the Obama people to prove this. What\u2019s surprising about this is (snorts) the Obama campaign is now playing a very rough form of politics, and is that really what we were promised way back when?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Awwww. Feeling betrayed. David “Rodham” Gergen is feeling betrayed. “I actually thought Obama was gonna be Mr. Hope and Change! Is this the kind of campaign we were promised?” But even expressing his regret over Obama, he still has to say, “I think that the burden is on the Obama people to prove this. The burden\u2019s on the Obama people to prove this.” They can\u2019t prove it; it isn\u2019t true! What is so hard about that? Obama launches a lie, an abject lie that has been proved as a lie months ago. So they relaunch it.<\/p>\n

Why does anybody take it seriously? Why does anybody treat it as a story that deserves investigation? Well, we all know the answer to this. This is just obscene! It\u2019s desperate and everything else. Obama campaigns have always been dirty. 2008 was the exception. This is who Obama is! This is always how Obama runs his campaigns. This is who the guy is. This is who David Axelrod is. There\u2019s nothing new about this. It doesn\u2019t matter. Of course, he wasn\u2019t gonna use the race card. We\u2019re gonna be post-racial and unified and all this.
