RUSH: Yes, Klaus Nomi and the official gay community update theme song. He looks exactly like he sounds, folks. Last Friday they had the first-ever gay pride reception at the White House. A bunch of gay activists were there, obviously, a gay pride reception. A group from Philadelphia showed up, made a beeline for the portrait of Ronald Reagan and flipped him off. And there are pictures<\/a> at Glenn Beck\u2019s website, The Blaze. One lesbian posted pictures of her and her buddy making out under the Reagan portrait in the White House with both hands raised, flipping off Reagan. Obama, gay pride. Okay, Klaus. He\u2019s really revved up here, folks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Klaus Nomi! Let\u2019s hear it for the late great Klaus Nomi. He died August 6, 1983 in the middle of Reagan\u2019s first term. I remember, folks, I was working in Sacramento in 1984, and the gay community blamed Reagan for AIDS because he never talked about it, they said. I never did understand the actual… if Reagan\u2019s responsible for it, then what was Reagan doing that we didn\u2019t know about? That was always my reaction.<\/p>\n

Anyway, it is true. “An attache of important gay people from Philadelphia made a trip to Washington DC as invited guests of President Barack Obama for the White House\u00c2\u2019s first-ever gay pride reception. There, they danced to the sounds of a Marine Corps band; they dined on crab cakes and canapes; they hand-delivered letters from concerned citizens … and some of them took advantage of photo opportunities to give the late President Ronald Reagan the middle finger.” And there are photos of it. <\/line><\/a><\/line><\/p>\n

Philadelphia Gay News publisher Mark Segal said, “It\u00c2\u2019s not a gesture that I would use in the White House when representing our city and our community.” But a lot of people did. “I have friends who work in that building. I\u00c2\u2019m not going to do something that could embarrass them or that could somehow damage a campaign that is so important. ‘Be on your best behavior,\u2019 my staff told me. I think they know me too well.”<\/p>\n

This guy, Mark Segal, Gay News publisher and so forth, he said he wouldn\u2019t do it, and he was asking others not to do it. But they did it anyway. And they posted Facebook photos. Drudge posted this story I think from Philly.com and immediately shut down the website. The Weekly Standard had the details I just shared with you, and TheBlaze.com went and got some of the pictures. There\u2019s a woman named Zoe Strauss, part of the group, she\u2019s pictured flipping Reagan\u2019s portrait off and making out with her wife, husband, girlfriend, I don\u2019t know, under the portrait of Reagan in the White House. And the news has now gone viral. It\u2019s out there, as we have pretty much guaranteed that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
