RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I just started listening to you guys a couple months ago, you and Michael Medved, and I appreciate there\u2019s actually people out there who actually have some common sense anymore.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You\u2019re 25, and you just started listening three months ago?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, about three or four months ago.<\/p>\n
RUSH: How did you find the program?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I had heard about you, you know, the whole time I\u2019ve been growing up. “Rush, Rush, Rush, Rush.”<\/p>\n
RUSH: Why didn\u2019t you tune in then?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Because I just wasn\u2019t very politically interested. You know, I didn\u2019t know too much about politics.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right. It didn\u2019t seem to interest you much. But then something happened and you got interested in it?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly. I\u2019ve been… You know, I\u2019m just the average Joe. I like to work.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait a second.<\/p>\n
CALLER: So as soon as I heard all about that stimulus package —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait. That\u2019s not average. (laughing)<\/p>\n
CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n
RUSH: Not anymore. You\u2019re special if you want to work. (laughing)<\/p>\n
CALLER: I know, I know. And I just got excited because, you know, we heard about the stimulus package and I work in construction.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n
CALLER: And I\u2019ve worked construction ever since I was 18 years old, and that\u2019s pretty much all I know is construction. So I depend a lot on these major projects starting up out there.<\/p>\n
RUSH: So you were probably all excited when Obama announced the stimulus.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Very excited. I was looking forward to working on the infrastructure — the bridges, roads, everything.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right, but what happened?<\/p>\n
CALLER: As soon as it got passed, work stopped.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n
CALLER: I mean, it completely stopped for almost three years.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (laughing) I never heard it put that way. (laughing) I love it.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, I mean, we wondered why.<\/p>\n
RUSH: “As soon as it got passed…” (laughing) “As soon as it got passed, work stopped.”<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, look, you\u2019re not an average Joe. Let me tell you that. You want to work. You\u2019re part of that group of people that I say make the country work. Look, hang on here a minute. I\u2019ve got more to ask you but I don\u2019t have any time.<\/p>\n

You kept Cody, right? This is a 25-year-old guy who has been listening to the program for three months. He\u2019s in construction. When he heard about the stimulus, he thought, “Good, all kinds of construction work is gonna be coming our way.” As soon as it was passed, the work stopped, and we had to end the conversation because of time. Welcome back, Cody.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hey, how\u2019s it going, Rush?<\/p>\n
RUSH: So, are you working yet? Have you found jobs? Have you found work to go back to?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Oh, yeah, I stuck it out with my company for three years, working 15-hour weeks and it just started picking up about, say, two months ago.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah. Fifteen hour work weeks.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That\u2019s not enough, is it? <\/p>\n
CALLER: No. No, no, no. (unintelligible) with unemployment? It\u2019s impossible.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Are you a member of a union?<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, you\u2019re not? So it\u2019s, what, an independent construction company?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Pretty much. Third party.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Third party. Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Third party construction.<\/p>\n
RUSH: So did you vote four years ago?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Oh, yes, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Who did you vote for?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I voted for — oh, gosh, what was his name? I\u2019m having a big brain fart right now. I didn\u2019t vote for Obama. I voted for — gosh, I\u2019m having a brain fart right now, Rush.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let\u2019s see, who did Obama run against?<\/p>\n
CALLER: The Republican.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Uh, uh, I\u2019m trying to — who ran against Obama.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Obama four years ago.<\/p>\n
RUSH: McCain.<\/p>\n
CALLER: McCain, right. I voted for McCain.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You voted for McCain?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I talked about the president being in the military and should have served at least some time in the military. I firmly believe in that. So I voted for McCain that time.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I see. Well, what did you think of Sarah Palin?<\/p>\n
CALLER: She\u2019s really pretty. But other than that, she\u2019s a good speaker for the Tea Party. I do have faith in Sarah. I really — I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s kinda hard to explain.<\/p>\n
RUSH: No. She\u2019s pretty. That sums it up.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Oh, yeah. Yes, definitely. Well, see, I was out in a rural town out in the middle of the woods, so I kinda, you know, Alaska, out in the woods —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Out in the middle of nowhere, she\u2019s pretty, not too many women around.<\/p>\n
CALLER: (laughing) Oh, no, we\u2019re pretty close to Seattle.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Close enough. Well, look, Cody —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yep, close enough.<\/p>\n
RUSH: — so you\u2019re not gonna vote for Obama this time, either, I guess —<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: — that\u2019s safe to conclude.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, sir. With the way the economy is and with everything he has promised, I know, it\u2019s weird, Rush, but I quit watching the daily news because it\u2019s almost like a scare tactic.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Like they\u2019re trying to scare you into voting for Obama.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Cody?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You are a smart guy. You\u2019re smarter than even you know.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, thank you. I do appreciate it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Don\u2019t ever forget that. I\u2019m telling you, I appreciate your call. Thanks very much. Look what we just heard here. This guy is 25 years old. He couldn\u2019t remember who he voted for. It was McCain. I had a little brain lockup there, too, but Obama said nobody\u2019s paying attention. Here\u2019s 25 years old, the yute of America. This guy is up to speed on what\u2019s wrong with Obama. He gets it. And I\u2019m telling you that that\u2019s far more widespread than anybody in the media and the Democrat Party would like to think. Cody, I appreciate your call. Thank you for holding on. If the stimulus had worked, we\u2019d-a lost Cody. He was excited about it. This guy, in construction, he believed Obama. He believed it. He thought it was gonna launch his construction business. <\/p>\n
Now he\u2019s learned. That was almost a trillion dollars and his construction business shut down because they didn\u2019t get any money. Obama ended up laughing about the whole notion of shovel-ready jobs. Cody, I don\u2019t know if you know where the money went. I don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve been listening long enough. That money that you thought was gonna go to shovel-ready jobs and construction jobs like you had, that money went to the states so that they could make sure that public sector union employees, like teachers and bureaucrats within the state government, did not lose their jobs during the recession. That\u2019s where that money went. <\/p>\n
And I\u2019ll tell you why. That $787 billion, Cody… Cody, stop what you\u2019re doing. I want you to listen to this. That $787 billion, nearly a trillion dollars, was nothing more than a money-laundering scheme. And it\u2019s not the only one. The entire relationship between labor unions\u2019 (municipal-state worker union) arrangements with the Democrat Party is a money-laundering scheme. Here\u2019s the way it works: That $787 billion, where did the government get it? Well, theoretically, they had to take it from the private sector.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s where the money is.<\/p>\n
Either that or print it or borrow it. But the point is, they didn\u2019t have it themselves. Wherever they get it — two out of the three places, if they borrow it or if they tax it — they are taking it out of the private sector. And then they want us to believe that putting it back is gonna have some sort of stimulus or boost to economic growth. It\u2019s not possible, because it\u2019s a net zero or a deficit. They weren\u2019t taking a trillion dollars that wasn\u2019t somewhere and putting it somewhere else. They took a trillion dollars from somewhere and then put it back.<\/p>\n
