CALLER: Mister Big. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Mister Big of the vast right-wing conspiracy.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. Rush, is the lexicon in the Washington White House correspondents gonna change for using the “bully pulpit” term?<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s an interesting question. The president has the bully pulpit. But being a bully isn\u2019t cool<\/a>. Will they stop using the term “bully pulpit”? I don\u2019t know. What do you think?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think they should in the current vocabulary that\u2019s going on. But, Rush, it\u2019s Open Line Friday. Can I touch base on one thing with you?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Sure. What is it? <\/p>\n

CALLER: You remember way back when they started the TSA? They held Bush\u2019s feet to the fire that they had to be unionized before they would agree to that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have a vague recollection of that, yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So they were holding their feet to the fire to unionize them and the Democrats were just horrible in holding that up. And also, at last guess, 20 weeks from now the unemployment will run out. You\u2019re exactly right, in September they\u2019re gonna use that as a political chip to show how mean the Republicans are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. See, this is the thing. It\u2019s expiring in eight states this weekend, but as they continue to lower the unemployment rate, more states\u2019 unemployment extensions will end throughout the summer. More people losing unemployment benefits. Obama\u2019s rolling the dice that he can blame this pain on the Republicans. And who knows. Look what the media did with Romney. Look at this phony, fraudulent story, front page, Washington Post. Not even Joe Scarborough believed it. I\u2019m told they had Mark McKinnon on there today, he was Bush\u2019s media guy, head of this group called No Labels, and McKinnon said, what this means is that nobody can ever run for president again. And what he means by that is who the hell is gonna subject themselves to this kind of stuff to run for president? Who\u2019s gonna do it? <\/p>\n

And he pointed out that fewer and fewer women are seeking public office, and he\u2019s assuming it\u2019s because they don\u2019t like the media anal that they get, like happened to Nikki Haley. Totally exonerated after how many months of charges of fraud and whatever she had been involved in. There was never anything to it. McKinnon, well, I didn\u2019t see the show so I don\u2019t know if he mentioned or not. It\u2019s not that nobody can run for president, because the Washington Post doesn\u2019t do this to Democrats. They do it to George Allen. Macaca. They\u2019re doing it to Romney on the front page. But this does not happen to Democrats. Any Democrat can run for office. <\/p>\n

As I say, Romney was not at Chappaquiddick. Romney was not accused of rape. Romney didn\u2019t have an affair with a mob gal, an actress who later committed suicide. Romney didn\u2019t father a child out of wedlock, and then ask some heiress to pay for it. Romney didn\u2019t support the tapping of Martin Luther King\u2019s phone, and Romney was never a member of the Klan. Romney didn\u2019t lie about his law school grades, but every one of those people: Ted Kennedy, Chappaquiddick; Bill Clinton, rape; John Kennedy mob gal and actress; John Edwards, child out of wedlock; Robert Kennedy, tapped Martin Luther King\u2019s phone; Robert Byrd, member of the Ku Klux Klan; law school grades, gosh, it\u2019s Ted Kennedy again. All those things happened after high school, and they don\u2019t matter. Don\u2019t hurt Democrats with that stuff.
