CALLER: And I was telling Mr. Snerdley, I was so furious, and I couldn\u2019t wait to hear what you had to say about it. I feel like, as a housewife raising a family, supporting my husband who is a small business owner in the natural gas industry, I feel like I\u2019m at constant war with this administration. I\u2019m the war with them at the gas pump. I\u2019m the war with them in the grocery store. I\u2019m at war with them at every signal Disney movie I take my kids to see.<\/p>\n

\nRUSH: That\u2019s exactly right. That was my point, you go to the gas station, too. You shop for groceries. The idea that you can listen to a trumped-up fake made up so-called war about taking away your birth control pills and running to Obama is foolish. It\u2019s sophistry. That\u2019s why we can\u2019t find the internals of this poll. We don\u2019t know if it\u2019s likely, registered, or whatever kind of adults, voters, what have you. But it\u2019s absurd, and I think it\u2019s insulting.
\nCALLER: It absolutely is, and every woman, every friend of mine that I speak to, we talk about these issues all the time. And it was flabbergasting to me to see that, because that is not what is going on in the pulse of America, in the pulse of every family out there that\u2019s working hard to provide a great future for their children. We work our tails off, and my husband is constantly having to defend his occupation. I\u2019m having to explain to my kids when we come out of the movie Cars or The Muppets or anything like that that your daddy is not a bad guy. You know, it gets a little exhausting, but, you know what? The feminists of this world —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait just a second, now. You are more informed than I. I have not seen movie Cars nor The Muppets in a long time. What are they doing? Why, when those movies are over, do you have to tell your kids your dad\u2019s not a bad guy?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, the bad, evil guy in The Muppets is a big oil man, and he\u2019s gonna tear down the Muppets studio so he can drill for oil underneath it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You gotta be kidding me. I didn\u2019t know this. I\u2019m sorry, folks, I should know these things. I don\u2019t know these things. The Muppets have an evil oil man that\u2019s gonna drill for oil in their studio?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes. So he\u2019s trying to destroy the whole Muppet industry, the whole Muppet, you know —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Their house. He\u2019s trying to destroy the Muppet\u2019s house and their trees and everything.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Everything, their total existence.<\/p>\n
RUSH: And what about the Cars, what the hell happens there?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, the Cars is the same situation. The guy who\u2019s trying to promote good, clean energy is being destroyed by the evil guy who doesn\u2019t want this guy to win because if he wins, the clean energy guy —<\/p>\n
RUSH: I thought it ended with Captain Planet on Saturday morning cartoons. Holly, hang on. Holly, don\u2019t hang up.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And we\u2019re back. We\u2019ve got Holly from Bee Cave, Texas, as in “Bumblebee Cave.”<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Or “Wasp Cave,” Texas. I am embarrassed. I did not know that the Muppets were doing this. During the break I did a Google search and I found a Houston Chronicle story back in November: “Muppets Reunite to Take on Big Oil.” Basically, a big, bad Texas oil man played by Chris Cooper plans to drill beneath the Muppet theater, and their only hope is reuniting the old Muppet crew for a one-night variety show fundraiser.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I\u2019m embarrassed. I know everything, and I didn\u2019t know that, and that\u2019s because I don\u2019t have kids. It\u2019s not worth having kids to know it, but I still didn\u2019t know it. And I\u2019ve never seen Toy Story or Cars or any of the Pixar stuff. Well, I take it back. I saw Finding Nemo. But that\u2019s the only one.<\/p>\n
CALLER: It\u2019s everywhere. And we have constant conversations about it because it\u2019s what their daddy does, and it\u2019s their livelihood and —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Their dad\u2019s in the oil and gas business, right?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And so their dad now is the equivalent here of the big, bad Texas oil man who wants to destroy the Muppets theater?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly. And it\u2019s really tough, and I will tell you this, a funny story my daughter told me yesterday. We were on our way back from visiting family for the weekend and we went to McDonald\u2019s and she got the new small McDonald\u2019s thing, French fries, and she was very upset about it. And last night during our prayer time —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait, now, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold it, wait a minute, now.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Are you telling me I\u2019m more informed than you are?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait a second. I haven\u2019t been to a McDonald\u2019s in a long time, either, \u2019cause I got spies that would report me if I did that. Why is your daughter upset at the French fries? Is there something about the Muppets on the French fry box?<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, the French fries are smaller than they have ever been and they come with apples, and it\u2019s a drastic —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Hold it. You mean the container is smaller, or the actual French fries are smaller?<\/p>\n
CALLER: The serving size has changed —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Serving size.<\/p>\n
CALLER: — because of Michelle Obama and her initiative to get —<\/p>\n
RUSH: And they\u2019re serving French fries with apples?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes. And she was so upset, and we said prayers last night, and she said, “I pray that my mama will not vote for Barack Obama because he changed the size of our French fries.”<\/p>\n
RUSH: Hallelujah. So your daughter — this probably because of you — your daughter is associating Obama and Michelle with the getting screwed on the French fries serving size?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, she asked me what happened, and so I explained it to her. And I said, “Listen, honey, she wants us to eat better, and I\u2019m all for that –”<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, come on, was the apple deep fried, at least?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, I mean, they just have as much sugar as anything else you want to give your kid. I mean they\u2019re not an apple you pick off the tree, that\u2019s for sure. So it\u2019s just something that we have —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, wait. It had to be on some tree somewhere.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I mean for me personally, you know, giving my child a treat every once in a while at McDonald\u2019s should be my prerogative, and I —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, now, did the price stay the same?<\/p>\n
CALLER: The price is the same.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, so you just can\u2019t buy two servings and make up — oh.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly. And those kind of things, when it shifts down to that kind of stuff, it\u2019s infuriating that they are really blowing this into something that is not and I couldn\u2019t wait to call you today and talk to you about it.<\/p>\n
RUSH: How old are your children?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, I have two girls and they\u2019re eight and seven.![](\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushJoinRush247.jpg\")

RUSH: Eight and seven.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, that means you have to be at least, what, 20?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019m 38.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (laughing.)<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019m 38 years old.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, then you know this has been going on a long time.<\/p>\n
CALLER: It absolutely has, and it\u2019s gotten to the point where I feel like I talk about it all of the time, and I\u2019m really frustrated. This is what\u2019s happening. This is the conversations I have with all of my friends. Anybody at school, trying to raise money for things at school, it\u2019s hard for people to donate now. I mean it\u2019s a totally different world than it was three years ago.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah. It is. There\u2019s no question. But this attempt to use pop culture to propagandize kids and indoctrinate \u2019em, that is not new. When you were their age, it might have been the forefront of it, Ted Turner had a cartoon on Saturday morning called Captain Planet, and Captain Planet was a superhero saving the world from major corporations who are destroying the planet by exploring for oil and all this other stuff.<\/p>\n
CALLER: But the difference between then and now is 24 hours. And it\u2019s at school, and it\u2019s everywhere we go.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, that\u2019s a good point.<\/p>\n
CALLER: That was not the situation back in the seventies, in the early eighties. It just wasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n
RUSH: In other words, you can\u2019t avoid it and they can\u2019t avoid it. You could turn off Saturday morning cartoons, but now their teacher is filling them with this kind of pap, too?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly. I just want to say, Rush, my dad used to make me listen to you when I was a teenager.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n
CALLER: He used to record your show on a little tape cassette thing and it was mandatory that I had to listen to it, and it\u2019s one of the greatest gifts I was ever given.<\/p>\n
RUSH: I was gonna say, look how well that turned out for you.<\/p>\n
CALLER: So thank you so much.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Holly, just a second here. You need some encouragement here, because you\u2019re single-handedly, your kids now, they recognize and they\u2019re complaining to you about it rather than accusing you of being part of the problem, right?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You gotta understand, a lot of kids would see the Muppet movie and if situation\u2019s the same thing but the kids have not been alerted, would really hate their dad because of this.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Would really hate their dad if they believe what\u2019s in this movie. This is what these people are doing.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I know.<\/p>\n
RUSH: This is a full-time job just countering the garbage that they see.<\/p>\n
CALLER: It seems like it nowadays, so we definitely have changed our thoughts on certain things that they do watch and —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, look at the story out of North Carolina that was maybe six weeks ago, the little girl who had the government agent take away her boxed lunch from home. Remember that? And what was the message there? Your mommy doesn\u2019t care for you. Your mommy is not putting a healthy lunch together for you. We will do it. That was the message sent to the kids. They\u2019re really trying to divide kids from their mothers and fathers here. It\u2019s reprehensible, it really is.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Absolutely. I\u2019m just blessed that I can be at home with them and talk to them about this stuff when the questions come up and the things happen and, you know, unfortunately not everybody can do that, especially nowadays.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, I\u2019m glad you called. It\u2019s not often that a caller tells me something I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Oh, thank you so much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I do. The old one.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You have the iPad 1 or the iPad 2?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I have the iPad 1. In fact, the new iPad is on my Mother\u2019s Day wish list.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay. Well, this new screen, called the retina display, is the finest you have ever seen on any electronic device. But it\u2019s gonna take you a couple of days of using this for that to hit you. It doesn\u2019t scream. Now, it might if you\u2019re using the old iPad, the very first one, but when I first unboxed mine and hooked it up on the first day I was a little disappointed because I\u2019d heard all this hype. I\u2019d heard how great it is. And I thought it would just leap out at me. It took me a day-and-a-half, and I don\u2019t know why, I don\u2019t know how, but a day-and-a-half, and finally it hit me just how awesome this screen is. It\u2019s flat-out amazing. But give yourself some time with it for that realization to hit you. But it\u2019s a 64-gig, it\u2019s got Wi-Fi. Would you prefer white or black?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Oh, gosh. I don\u2019t prefer. I don\u2019t know. Whatever you decide.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, it has LTE 4G cellular capability, too. What large city is Bee Cave next to?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Austin.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Austin.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, I\u2019m gonna send you a Verizon one. Unless you want AT&T.<\/p>\n
