RUSH: The French have shot down a Libyan jet, which is news. The French finally found somebody they can beat up on. <\/p>\n

Folks, I gotta warn you, I\u2019m kinetic today. I\u2019ve got all kinds of kinetic action. People won\u2019t leave me alone. I barely had time for show prep today. I mean I\u2019m sitting here, I\u2019m already frazzled. I feel like I feel after three hours of this program and we just now started, so you people out there in the media waiting for your tweak, there might be 25 of them today. I\u2019m irritated, my guard is down, so who knows what\u2019s gonna happen out there. But now, kinetic activity. We\u2019re not at war. We are engaged in kinetic activity. We have a headline, this from the DC Examiner: “In the last few days, Obama administration officials have frequently faced the question: Is the fighting in Libya a war? From military officers to White House spokesmen up to the president himself, the answer is no. But that leaves the question: What is it? In a briefing on board Air Force One Wednesday, deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes took a crack at an answer. ‘I think what we are doing is enforcing a resolution that has a very clear set of goals.'”<\/p>\n

By the way, did you hear that Boehner sent Obama a letter? I have a copy of the letter. A little side note to you Republicans, could you do something about this? As long as you\u2019re gonna submit these as PDF files 95% of people are not gonna be able to read your stuff. Just put it up on the website, don\u2019t make \u2019em download a PDF. At any rate, it\u2019s a good letter from Boehner, but I wonder why did he send it to Obama? Why didn\u2019t he send it to NATO or the UN? I mean he wants answers. Boehner, what\u2019s the purpose, why send that to Obama? At any rate, this guy, the Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes took a crack at an answer. He said, “I think what we are doing is enforcing a resolution that has a very clear set of goals, which is protecting the Libyan people, averting a humanitarian crisis, and setting up a no-fly zone. Obviously that involves kinetic military action, particularly on the front end.”<\/p>\n

Folks, this is pathetic, literally, genuinely pathetic. Kinetic military action, particularly on the front end. Kinetic simply means motion! That\u2019s all it means. Depending on movement for its effect, of, relating to, or resulting from motion. So now we\u2019ve got kinetic military action, and here\u2019s the defense secretary, let\u2019s grab sound bite five. This is Robert Gates Tuesday in Moscow, and he spoke with reporters, and this is what he said about the war in Libya. <\/p>\n

GATES: I think as we are successful in suppressing the air defenses, the level of kinetic activity should decline, I assume, in the next few days.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I swear, this is surreal. KMA, kinetic military activity has replaced WTF, (laughing) which is winning the future. I\u2019m sure you thought it was something else. (laughing) Kick my — has replaced what the — Okay, so I guess we\u2019re to assume it\u2019s not a protest anymore. It\u2019s a kinetic assembling action. It\u2019s not a riot. It\u2019s kinetic thuggery action. It\u2019s not a vacation. It\u2019s kinetic leisure action. It\u2019s not golf. It\u2019s kinetic ball striking action. It\u2019s not dancing. It\u2019s kinetic foot action. It\u2019s not sex. It\u2019s kinetic Lewinsky. (laughing) I\u2019m not drunk. I\u2019ve been engaging in kinetic adult beverage action. It\u2019s not an election. It\u2019s kinetic voting action. It\u2019s not radio. It\u2019s kinetic Limbaugh action. Whatever. Kinetic means motion. Military means armed forces. Action means motion. Kinetic action, moving motion. And these are the smartest people in the world. Well, the reason they can\u2019t say it is because they don\u2019t want to say what it really is. We all know what it is, but they don\u2019t want to say it. They don\u2019t want to go on record as saying what this really is, because they\u2019re actually trying to pretend it isn\u2019t anything. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Back to the audio sound bites. Zbigniew Brzezinski on MSNBC this morning, he was on there with his daughter, Mika Brzezinski. Mika Brzezinski asking her father Zbig Brzezinski, “Last time we talked you said the president shouldn\u2019t act alone in Libya, that it should be collective action and they\u2019re not calling it war.”<\/p>\n

BRZEZINSKI: Well, it really isn\u2019t war. It\u2019s something in between war and military intervention to stop something that\u2019s going on, but without intending to conquer the country. But I have to tell you frankly, Mika, that I cannot think of another instance in recent times in which I myself was so uncertain in thinking about the problem how we should act, because there are so many downsides and so many uncertainties. But in the end, I concluded that if we didn\u2019t act it would be worse.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It sounds like we\u2019re in a Bond movie here. So Zbig is talking to his daughter, Mika, the Brzezinskis on MSNBC, and it\u2019s not a war. It\u2019s something in between that and military intervention, stop something that\u2019s going on but without intending to conquer the country. Not according to the American left. The American left, the kooks out there think that\u2019s exactly what this is about, if you listen to \u2019em. Establishing a US base. They\u2019re mad. These leftists are mad. Obama\u2019s no different than George W. Bush to them in all of this. (interruption) Well, according to Mr. Brzezinski, Mr. Snerdley, an act of war is not an act of war unless we\u2019re trying to conquer the country, you know, hold territory, so to speak. And Zbig says that that\u2019s not what we\u2019re doing. We\u2019re not going in to conquer the place, so it really isn\u2019t a war. And it\u2019s not really a military intervention. It\u2019s kinetic military action. I mean that\u2019s why they\u2019ve come up with this ludicrous term. That\u2019s why they don\u2019t want to call it a war on terror because the Muslims don\u2019t intend to occupy us. They just blew up the World Trade Center. Of course, you might get some argument on that from certain people. <\/p>\n

All of this is nothing more than one of these intellectual exercises to excuse Obama, give him a pass. It really isn\u2019t war. You know, Democrat presidents don\u2019t like using the US military. If the truth be known, liberals actually are happier when the US military loses. Liberals don\u2019t want military success. They don\u2019t think the world should be shaped that way. Of course, ours is a world governed by the aggressive use of force. Liberals hate that. To them, this is a world governed by the aggressive use of speeches. You know, all the speeches in the world didn\u2019t stop Khadafy from deciding he wanted to become illegitimate. I have never seen such pretzel-like maneuvering on the part of Democrats. This whole kinetic military action, war, military intervention, whatever they don\u2019t want to call it, is nothing more than a PR move to try to elevate Obama\u2019s stature from a position they\u2019re not particularly happy that he occupies. <\/p>\n

But it\u2019s like I said in the first hour, this is a joke. You know, all of this, the commentary about it, the action itself, the lack of an objective, the lack of a withdrawal strategy, no definition of victory, I mean it is a joke. The question is, is it purposefully so? We look like anything but the solution to the world\u2019s problems here. We look like an utterly aimless, purposeless country here. You couple that with the fact that we have a president who views this country\u2019s past in exactly that way and questions are aroused.<\/p>\n

RUSH: CNN is running a crawl, a graphic crawl at the bottom of the screen about Libya. It says, “Humanitarian Crisis Feared.” What now? I thought that\u2019s precisely what we had averted! I thought that\u2019s what everybody was taking credit for, that we have averted a humanitarian crisis. Go back here to number 15, Ed. Audio sound bite number 15. RUSH: I wonder if Zbig would have the same view if there were a Republican in the White House. I just have that question. But (Zbig impression), “[I]t really isn\u2019t war. But I have to tell you frankly, Mika, that I cannot think of another instance…” I thought we\u2019d averted a humanitarian crisis, but you also heard Zbig here say that it is not a war because we are not “intending to conquer the country.” <\/p>\n

So I guess the first Gulf War was not a war. We didn\u2019t try to conquer Iraq. Saddam Hussein was left in place. The Vietnam War was not a war. We weren\u2019t trying to conquer North Vietnam, right? So that wasn\u2019t a war. The War of 1812, was that not a war? We weren\u2019t trying to conquer and occupy Great Britain. We were trying to keep from being conquered and occupied. This is not a pickup basketball game. That\u2019s what they\u2019re trying to make it look like. It\u2019s not just midnight basketball. This thing\u2019s going on around the clock. <\/p>\n
