RUSH: Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, wait \u2019til you hear it. We\u2019ve got that, we\u2019ve got Cornel West — (laughing) — Cornel West, who spent many years at Harvard, Cambridge, Princeton, well known black ghettos, claiming that Obama has been deracinized, or deracinated, he\u2019s not black enough now. We\u2019re back to this again. He\u2019s really uncomfortable hanging around independent black guys. His whole experience is white. He\u2019s actually a white guy with black skin. He\u2019s confused and he\u2019s a sellout. Cornel West is fit to be tied. Al Sharpton now mad at Cornel West, but deracinated is the term. This is in the Boston Globe. <\/p>\n

So, yeah — oh, folks, we\u2019re loaded today, and we\u2019ll resume right after all of this. Don\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Boston Globe had a had a story on the 17th, couple days ago. Here\u2019s the story: “Cornel West, a Princeton University professor and leading black intellectual, is harshly criticizing President Obama, a candidate he once supported but now calls ‘a black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats.\u2019 West, a former Harvard University professor, faulted Obama in an interview with the website Truthdig,” posted yesterday that the president has not been true to his race. He said, “I think my dear brother Barack Obama has a certain fear of free black men. It&rsquo;s understandable. As a young brother who grows up in a white context, brilliant African father, he&rsquo;s always had to fear being a white man with black skin. All he has known culturally is white . . . When he meets an independent black brother, it is frightening.”<\/p>\n

The White House did not have an immediate comment. West was not finished. He said, “Obama, coming out of Kansas influence, white, loving grandparents, coming out of Hawaii and Indonesia, when he meets these independent black folk who have a history of slavery, Jim Crow, Jane Crow and so on, he is very apprehensive. He has a certain rootlessness, a deracination. It is understandable.” Obama been deracinated. He\u2019s not down for the struggle. “West is a professor at Princeton&rsquo;s Center for African American Studies and the author of ‘Race Matters.\u2019 He left the Harvard faculty in 2002 amid quarrels with its president at the time, Lawrence Summers. West also recounts personal slights –” get this. This is one of the reasons Cornel West is upset, Obama doesn\u2019t return his phone calls and he couldn\u2019t get enough tickets to Obama\u2019s inauguration. “He couldn&rsquo;t get a ticket with his mother and brother.” I guess he got one ticket, but they wouldn\u2019t give him two more tickets to the inauguration, so because of that Obama has been deracinated. <\/p>\n

“It is not the first time West has raised questions about Obama. Last year, in an interview with NPR, he said he wished the president were more ‘Martin Luther King-like.'” So basically what Cornel West is saying here, it\u2019s, you know, Dinesh D\u2019Souza, we interviewed him for the Limbaugh Letter<\/a>, Dinesh D\u2019Souza explains Obama by saying he dislikes America because of the anti-imperialist views of his father, Barack Obama Sr. Cornel West is saying that Obama is an Uncle Tom because of his white upbringing and family, deracinated. <\/p>\n

And then Peter Fonda. Peter Fonda is over at Cannes at the film festival over there, and he\u2019s called Obama a traitor. He sent him a note dropping the F-bomb in the note, in front of the word “traitor.” “Peter Fonda launched a four-letter attack on US President Barack Obama at the Cannes film festival on Wednesday, calling him a traitor over the handling of the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill. … Fonda — a keen environmentalist [wacko] and co-producer of the film which centers on the explosion of the BP oil rig Deepwater Horizon, the ensuing spill and its consequences — accused Washington of trying to gag reporting on the issue. ‘I sent an e-mail to President Obama saying, “You are a f(expletive) traitor,” using those words… “You\u2019re a traitor, you allowed foreign boots on our soil telling our military — in this case the coastguard — what they can and could not do, and telling us, the citizens of the United States, what we could or could not do.”‘” So they\u2019re not happy out there. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s another story here that American Jews are telling Obama, “You better back off on Israel, bud, on these settlements and stuff or we may not be as forthcoming with campaign donations.” Now, we hear this every four years. We hear it every four years. Now, let me put this in perspective, \u2019cause Cornel West, I mean here\u2019s a guy who hangs around the ghettos of Harvard and Princeton, right? He\u2019s hanging around with all the people down for the struggle. He\u2019s in the hood. The Harvard hood, the Cambridge hood, the Princeton hood. And here he is telling Obama he\u2019s not black enough. He\u2019s been deracinated. And the media can\u2019t wait to report this stuff. <\/p>\n

Now, nobody cares what Peter Fonda says, but there they are reporting it, and they do this to create an impression. It\u2019s not that Cornel West and Peter Fonda are involved in any kind of conspiracy here. Fonda\u2019s too stupid to be involved in anything in long-range planning, and Cornel West is just a radical here. There are thousands of kooks out there who can be quoted saying that Obama is disappointing them. But all of this is designed to make Obama look like he\u2019s not what he is. He\u2019s a centrist, exactly right, Snerdley. The media, the left loves it when Cornel West loses control, \u2019cause when Cornel West starts acting like Cornel West, this far-left fringe, you know, racial activist ripping Obama, that\u2019s music to the ears of the Obama reelect team. Oh, yeah, give me more of it, yeah, Sister Souljah. Give me more of this. Give me more wacko leftists ripping into the brutha. Oh, yeah, they love it. Than the Cornel is in on it. Nobody could convince Cornel to join a conspiracy. He is one in and of himself and he\u2019s not gonna join another one. People are gonna join him if that\u2019s gonna be happening.<\/p>\n
