RUSH: There\u2019s a story that actually started way, way back in March. In March I told you<\/a> about this story and nothing was made of it much after we spent some time on it back in March, until Friday and throughout the weekend. It\u2019s the story of Operation Fast and Furious. Operation Fast and Furious is where the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, some wizard got the idea to ship a bunch of AK-47s, ammunition and other weapons to Mexico, hoping that the weapons and ammunition would end up in the possession of drug lords. We purposely shipped a bunch of AK-47s, other weapons and ammo to drug lords in Mexico, ostensibly to track the stuff so as to be able to tell where it went and who had it and thus we could identify them. <\/p>\n

Before this story broke — CBS broke it, Sharyl Attkisson back on March 4th, we covered it back then, I got e-mails all weekend long, “Hey, Rush, how come you didn\u2019t talk about –” We did. Way, way back in March. This is an old story. We covered it thoroughly. I\u2019m gonna go back and I\u2019ll prove it to you. We covered it from top to bottom, side to side. What\u2019s new is that now Jay Carney, the White House spokesman, and Obama said, “I didn\u2019t know anything about it.” They\u2019re claiming they had no idea, and they certainly didn\u2019t authorize it. <\/p>\n

<\/a>Oh, by the way, have you heard Obama\u2019s gonna start tweeting? He\u2019s gonna start tweeting. I see he\u2019s learned nothing from the Weiner scandal. By the way, speaking of the Weiner scandal, has there been any news at all since the Weiner scandal ended? Well, there are a couple of stories about women in politics, and one of the interesting ones is why women don\u2019t make it big in business. And that\u2019s because they\u2019re taught to be too nice. That\u2019s coming up. No, the Weiner story, the last I saw Weiner and Huma were out yukking it up in the Hamptons, laughing and having a grand old time. So, anyway, Obama is tweeting and a lot of people say, “When does he have the time to do this? He\u2019s the president of the United States.” My friends, when does he have time to play golf? What is it, 13 weekends in a row? Very smart move by Obama to ask Boehner to play with him. You know why? Obama calls up Boehner, (imitating Obama) “Hey, let\u2019s go play golf.” Boehner says, “You don\u2019t turn down an invitation to see the president.” Okay, let\u2019s go play golf. Guess what\u2019s now off the table? Criticizing Obama for playing golf. I mean Boehner\u2019s out there playing with him, so is John Kasich, Republican governor, Ohio. So if you\u2019re gonna criticize Obama for playing golf, you gotta criticize Boehner, too. <\/p>\n

Now, I got an idea. You\u2019re going to hear the sound bites coming up, but I\u2019m just gonna do this because, folks, if you listen to this program regularly and religiously you will be on the cutting edge of societal evolution. I got e-mails throughout the week, “Hey, you dropped the ball, Rush. Spending too much time on your tea, you forget all about this big –” We didn\u2019t forget about it. We did it way, way back in March. Everybody acting like this is a brand-new story on Friday missed when this thing actually began. We didn\u2019t. The only thing new is Obama saying he had no idea about it, which is not a wise thing to say. That means he\u2019s got rogue agents in the ATF coming up with these rogue plans. It\u2019s a silly, stupid plan. It\u2019s like we\u2019ve chronicled how many times the federal government spent a half million bucks back in the seventies to study whether or not Eskimos still swap wives. <\/p>\n

Do Mexican drug lords have AK-47s? Yeah, and if they\u2019re ours, how in the world does that help us? We know we\u2019ve got \u2019em, why are we gonna add to their collection. Be able to track them? Who needs to track them? We know what they\u2019re using. We don\u2019t forget anything here and nothing gets past us. In fact, if you listen regularly you will hear about things long before they become mainstream pop culture. Here we go. Let\u2019s go back, March 4th and just listen. We\u2019ve got three soundbites and I\u2019ll be honest, I was bouncing off of a CBS story on this by Sharyl Attkisson. She\u2019s a reporterette infobabe that used to work at CNN. So here\u2019s the first of three bites that we have on this.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: From CBS News. This is Sharyl Attkisson reporting: “Federal agent John Dodson says what he was asked to do was beyond belief. He was intentionally letting guns go to Mexico? ‘Yes ma\u2019am,\u2019 Dodson told CBS News. ‘The agency was.\u2019 An Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms senior agent assigned to the Phoenix office in 2010, Dodson\u2019s job is to stop gun trafficking across the border. Instead, he says he was ordered to sit by and watch it happen. Investigators call the tactic letting guns ‘walk.\u2019 In this case, walking into the hands of criminals who would use them in Mexico and the United States. Center for Public Integrity reports Dodson\u2019s bosses say that never happened. Now, he\u2019s risking his job to go public. ‘I\u2019m boots on the ground in Phoenix, telling you we\u2019ve been doing it every day since I\u2019ve been here,\u2019 he said. ‘Here I am. Tell me I didn\u2019t do the things that I did. Tell me you didn\u2019t order me to do the things I did. Tell me it didn\u2019t happen. Now you have a name on it. You have a face to put with it. Here I am. Someone now, tell me it didn\u2019t happen.\u2019 Agent Dodson and other sources say the gun walking strategy was approved all the way up to the Justice Department,\u2019 Eric Holder. The guns that ATF let go began showing up at crime scenes in Mexico. And as ATF stood by watching thousands of weapons hit the streets… the Fast and Furious group supervisor noted the escalating Mexican violence.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. So back in March we had the news for you. It went all the way up to Eric Holder. Obama doesn\u2019t know anything about it, of course, plausible deniability notwithstanding. That report continued just to show you the incredible detail we gave to this story.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: “On Dec. 14, 2010, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down. Dodson got the bad news from a colleague. ‘We just knew it wasn\u2019t going to end well. There\u2019s just no way it could,\u2019 Dodson said. According to Dodson, ‘They said, “Did you hear about the border patrol agent?” And I said, “Yeah.” And they said “Well, it was one of the Fast and Furious guns.” There\u2019s not really much you can say after that.'” Two assault rifles ATF had let go nearly a year before were found at Terry\u2019s murder. Dodson said, ‘I felt guilty. I mean it\u2019s crushing. I don\u2019t know how to explain it.\u2019 Sen. Grassley began investigating after his office spoke to Dodson and a dozen other ATF sources — all telling the same story.” For the life of me, I can\u2019t understand the purpose of this operation. I do not understand. I\u2019m open to having it explained to me. Obama just yesterday in the press conference with Felipe Calderon assured the government of Mexico that US agents working in Mexico would not be armed, but we\u2019re letting guns “walk” from Phoenix gun shows. They\u2019re being bought by Mexican cartel members and walked back home, and they end up being used for criminal purposes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s what we called it back on March 4th. We came up with our own name for it: Operation Gun Runner or Gun Walker. Now, the real reason for this — and again, yeah, I\u2019m gonna beat myself on the chest, I had this, we did this in great detail. We still have one more sound bite to go just to refresh your memory. But the real reason for Operation Gun Runner or Fast and Furious, whatever they want to call it now, the purpose of this was so that Obama and the rest of the Democrats can scream bloody murder about the lack of gun control in the US which is causing all the murders in Mexico. This was a setup from the get-go. Send American guns from Phoenix from gun shows, get them into the hands, purposely, of Mexican drug lords and then have those guns used in the commission of crimes against, in some cases American US border agents all for the purpose of facilitating a domestic agenda of anti- the Second Amendment. We\u2019re always the firstest with the mostest here. Well, yeah, I was a little exorcised all weekend long. I mean if people are not gonna listen, why do this? I\u2019m just kidding. I say this with great affection. But all this was made in great detail back in March. One more sound bite here to go, this again from March 4th, this program, and this is the finale of my comments on the ATF operation code named Fast and Furious.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: Now, don\u2019t forget Obama wanted evidence. The left has an accusation out there about crime and drugs: “You think they\u2019re coming from Mexico? No!” Remember this? It\u2019s all part of the illegal immigration business here. The pro-illegal immigration, the amnesty crowd is questioning this notion that crime and drugs come from Mexico. So what better way to counter that than to have the guns come from America, to take Mexico out of the equation? So the guns coming in are not a problem as far as immigration. “Those guns are American! It\u2019s a whole different thing.” What better way to stop one of the arguments that would say, “Tighten the borders because of all the crime, all the drugs, all the guns coming from Mexico”? That\u2019s one argument. How better to nullify that than to end up arranging for the guns to be American guns? Look, I wouldn\u2019t put it past this bunch. <\/p>\n

What better way to refute the argument that it\u2019s coming from Mexico than for the guns to end up being American? So if you run the regime, you are the regime. You come up with a program designed to (as far as public is concerned) be able to track the drug cartels so you let American guns “walk” into Mexico; those guns end up being used in crimes in the United States. “Those are not Mexican guns,” the regime can say. “Those are American guns! We don\u2019t have a problem here.” (interruption) Do we have to apologize to Mexico for sending the guns to them? No. Remember, now, they\u2019re not officially admitting that\u2019s what\u2019s going on. We\u2019ve had a whistleblower, Agent Dodson, saying this is what\u2019s going on, but we\u2019re not admitting it, but the story is now out. The whistleblower\u2019s done his job. CBS, the source of the story, is doing it\u2019s job, reporting: The gun that killed the border agent is an American AK-47; it wasn\u2019t Mexican gun. This has been a huge argument, folks. It\u2019s been a huge argument. With the ranchers being shot, Arizona trying to stanch the flow of illegals, one of the big arguments has been the crime element, the criminal element of all this. Mexican guns and so forth. So now you have, “Looky here! Looky here! They\u2019re American guns, they\u2019re not Mexican guns.” It\u2019s just a thought.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So all the way back in March and for domestic political purposes. Now, here, this is Friday afternoon at the White House, the press secretary Jay Carney, the daily press briefing, Jake Tapper says, “Does the president have any personal reaction to the investigative report from the House investigative committee upon the ATF\u2019s Fast and Furious program and all the blow-back from that operation?”<\/p>\n

CARNEY: I don\u2019t have anything specific like a quote from the president. I can tell you that as the president has already said, he did not know about or authorize this operation.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Bohunk. It went all the way up to Holder, alter ego. I bet the president also doesn\u2019t know that he\u2019s ordered his own health care waivers to end early, if you haven\u2019t heard about that.<\/p>\n
