RUSH: Bloomfield, New Mexico, this is Lee. How are you, Lee?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m fine, Mr. Limbaugh. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Couldn\u2019t be better. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, it is Bloomfield, New Mexico, and it\u2019s in the four corners area.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And according to geologists, we are sitting on approximately 500 years or more of untapped natural gas resources here. During the entire time that President Bush was the leader of our nation, and I\u2019m not saying he\u2019s perfect, I mean I\u2019m a registered Republican, but I\u2019m not saying he\u2019s perfect, I don\u2019t vote just because you\u2019re Republican; I vote how I vote, you know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My husband\u2019s income went up on an average of10 to 15 to $20,000 a year the whole eight years that he was in office. My husband worked in the natural gas fields, which, by the way, do not pollute the countryside. You don\u2019t even know the wells are there. I have three up behind me, I don\u2019t even know they\u2019re there. I have three P&A, that\u2019s where you plug and abandon, that are outside my back door, and, Mr. Limbaugh, if you would stand on my back porch and point them out to me, I\u2019ll buy you dinner.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, what you are illustrating, Lee, is that all of this talk about changing our environmental focus to safer and greener and cleaner is all bogus. It\u2019s how they\u2019re selling it, but it\u2019s not at all the reason they\u2019re doing anything. They\u2019re not interested in cleaner energy. They\u2019re not interested in saving the planet.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I know that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All that\u2019s bogus.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. You plug in an electric car. Where the heck do you think that energy is coming from?<\/p>\n

RUSH: From coal!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah. And that\u2019s the biggest oxymoron there is, clean coal.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly. Everybody knows this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You saw Robocop, didn\u2019t you, the movie?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think I\u2019ve seen it one time. Not the whole thing, but, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Just take another look at how it looks. It\u2019s supposed to be Detroit in the future. Well, if you go up here to this coal-fired plant up here, that\u2019s what it looks like. I had the worst headache I\u2019ve ever had in my life for almost a week after my husband took me up there. I went, “What is that?” But natural gas, I have a plant right down the hill from me here. It\u2019s nothing. It\u2019s steam. Two percent of what comes out of that plant is CO2. The rest of it is steam. It\u2019s natural gas. It\u2019s the cleanest burning stuff we\u2019ve got. The point I wanted to make about Republicans ruining the economy, my husband no longer has a job now. They have basically shut down the natural gas fields here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. But you\u2019re not telling me that you think the Republicans are sabotaging the economy?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Whew.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My husband had a job and his income went up.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s what I thought you said at the beginning of the phone call. This kind of outrage, by the way, is all over the western parts of the United States. What is happening to people in the western parts of the country, what you\u2019ve heard here from Lee, it could be a farmer working in the natural gas industry. There is an all-out assault on things that have employed people, that have encouraged economic advancement, economic growth, prosperity for people, that do not cause harm to people. (interruption) I know, Louisiana is not happy. It\u2019s all over the country. It\u2019s stunning to come into contact with people who have this kind of attitude. They\u2019re fit to be tied. It\u2019s why I say that if the election were tomorrow, Obama\u2019s done in a landslide, if the election is tomorrow. Lee, thanks much.<\/p>\n
