{"id":21283,"date":"2002-07-17T01:01:01","date_gmt":"2011-05-19T07:30:02","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2011-05-19T07:30:02","modified_gmt":"2011-05-19T07:30:02","slug":"harken_investigator_no_case_there","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2002\/07\/17\/harken_investigator_no_case_there\/","title":{"rendered":"Harken Investigator: No Case There"},"content":{"rendered":"<section>\n<p><BR\/>It\u2019s not sticking, guys, and if you need further evidence of that, Reuters had a story on Tuesday that proves such. &#8220;The Securities and Exchange Commission lawyer who investigated President Bush for insider trading more than a decade ago said on Tuesday that no pressure was put on him to drop the investigation even though Bush\u2019s father was president at the time.<\/line><BR\/>&#8220;Bruce Hiler &#8211; who currently represents Jeffrey Skilling, bankrupt Enron Corp.\u2019s former chief executive &#8211; was associate director of the SEC\u2019s enforcement division when it investigated Bush\u2019s sale in 1990 of Harken Energy Corp. stock before the company reported large losses.&#8221;<\/line><BR\/>By the way, folks, this guy had a co-investigator that was a big liberal Democrat, Bill McLucas, who\u2019s still there and has said the same thing. <\/line><BR\/>&#8220;Hiler, who left the SEC to join the law firm of O\u2019Melveny &amp; Myers in 1994, rejected suggestions the probe was in any way influenced by then President George Bush, telling Reuters: &#8216;There was no political pressure.
