CALLER:  I\u2019m good.  How are you? <\/p>\n

RUSH:  I\u2019m so glad you called.  I really appreciate your patience in waiting for me to get to you, too. <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yeah. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  “Yeah.”  (laughing) Well, what\u2019s up?  Why did you call today?  To what do we owe this great pleasure? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Well, I just really like your books and I wanted to tell you that they were very good. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, thank you.  How many of them have you read? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  I\u2019ve read all of them, actually. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Naturally, yes, of course.  And do you have a favorite? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Which one? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  The most recent one you wrote I believe, Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  That\u2019s it! That\u2019s the most recent one, Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner.  That\u2019s your favorite. That\u2019s great.  That\u2019s cool. <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yeah.  I really like your books. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, thank you very much.  I appreciate that.  I\u2019m not gonna ask you why because that would be greedy.  I\u2019m just gonna accept the fact that you like them.  And, you know what?  I assume you like Liberty? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes.  Yes, I do.<\/p>\n

RUSH:  Okay.  Well, I want to send you a Liberty stuffed animal.  We made a bunch. They\u2019re cute as they can be.  You will love this.  And that\u2019s if your parents would not object.  I\u2019d like to send you this.  A little package of goodies that we send out to people who get in touch with us and tell us how much that they like the books.  Would that be okay with them, do you think? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Yeah, I\u2019m sure, okay.  So, if you would, just don\u2019t hang up here, and when we finish the call we\u2019ll get your address and we\u2019ll send the stuff out.  Hopefully we\u2019ll get it out as soon as next week.  Do you have any brothers or sisters? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes, two older brothers. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  How old are they? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Twelve and 17. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Twelve and 17.  Wow.  Okay.  Well, you live in Richmond, Virginia.  What grade are you gonna be in when school starts back up? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  I\u2019m gonna be in third grade.  Oh, and the 12-year-old really likes the books, too. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Twelve-year-old does, too, okay.  Has the 12-year-old read them all as well? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  No, he — yes, actually. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Okay.  Now, do you each have your own copies, or do you have one copy that you\u2019ve shared? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  One copy that we share. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Oh, no, no, no, gotta fix that. We\u2019ve gotta give you your own copies of each one.  And I\u2019m gonna send you some audio CDs, audio versions that I, of course, narrate.  That way you can put the CDs in, if you get tired of reading now and then or want to experience them again, you can just listen to me read it. So we\u2019ll put a bunch of stuff together for you, Avery, and I cannot thank you enough.  You\u2019re just great.  I appreciate it. <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Okay.  Well, thank you very much for having me here.  I learned a lot in your books, and it\u2019s just very cool talking to you. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Well, thank you.  Avery, does your family have an iPad? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Do you like it? <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Well, it\u2019s an old one, so it\u2019s kind of glitchy. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Kind of glitchy.  Yeah, that\u2019s bad when they get glitchy, that\u2019s bad.  Okay.  Well, I\u2019ll throw a couple of those in there, too, with this for you and your brother. The two of them to share \u2019em around and so forth.  <\/p>\n

CALLER:  Okay, thank you so much. <\/p>\n

RUSH:  Do you draw?  Are you into artistry at all?<\/p>\n

CALLER:  Yes.  Yes, I am. <\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH:  All right.  Well, I\u2019m gonna throw in a little Apple pencil that will allow you to make big-time, really good drawings on your iPad, too.  <\/p>\n
