RUSH: Here is Anthony in Cleveland.\u00a0 Great to have you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Hi, Rush.\u00a0 I\u2019m a listener for 29 years, I think. Right around there.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You\u2019re pretty close.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got our 28th anniversary coming up in less than a month.\u00a0 Do you realize, August 1st is gonna be 28 years?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Oh, wow.\u00a0 Wow.\u00a0 I\u2019m approaching the third decade, so I\u2019m a proud listener.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 It\u2019s great to have you out there.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Thank you. I\u2019ve been anticipating the end of this cheap matinee for several months now, and it happens a few weeks before the Republican convention?\u00a0 I\u2019m just interested in what your insight is towards that significance.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uhhh…<\/p>\n

CALLER: If it is.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 The timing of this before the Republican convention? Uhh, you\u2019ll have… I haven\u2019t thought about it in those terms yet.\u00a0 What is your theory on it?<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Well, I just think one of Mr. Trump\u2019s things that he says is “Crooked Hillary, Crooked Hillary,” and it looks like, “No, no, she\u2019s not! Look, she\u2019s been exonerated.” And I just hope there\u2019s enough ammunition there with Mr. Trump that he comes out and just —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Well, you see, that\u2019s… In a way, that\u2019s kind of the point.\u00a0 She has been legally exonerated, but with a lot of questionable twists and turns.\u00a0 Politically, she hasn\u2019t been.\u00a0 The FBI director pretty much stipulated that she trafficked in top secret classified information.\u00a0 The FBI director has committed that it\u2019s pretty likely that “hostile actors” got her emails. They couldn\u2019t find any direct evidence of a hack, but the hackers will be glad to tell you that they\u2019ve done it.\u00a0 But he laid out a case.<\/p>\n

I went through all of the things that she did at the beginning of the program.\u00a0 He just said at the end of the day, she didn\u2019t intend to.\u00a0 He couldn\u2019t find any intent to be grossly negligent like they was, and so because there wasn\u2019t any intent, that no reasonable prosecutor would pursue this, in a legal sense.\u00a0 You prosecute on the basis of the nature of evidence, the likelihood of a conviction.\u00a0 Nobody wants to go into court thinking they\u2019re gonna lose if they even could.<\/p>\n

Some cases, you have to prosecute — like murder.\u00a0 The OJ case, you have to prosecute it.\u00a0 But things like this, prosecutors can decide based on all the evidence — the recommendation from the people that collect the evidence, the FBI — whether to go or not.\u00a0 So the FBI director said (summarized), “I\u2019m not gonna recommend that they prosecute because no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute the case.” Well, based on what?<\/p>\n

But that doesn\u2019t mean that a presidential candidate or a presidential party cannot prosecute what she has done here.\u00a0 She has pretty much been tied to gross negligence.\u00a0 This we knew before Comey went through it. We know she\u2019s been trafficking in these things.\u00a0 We know she had a private server.\u00a0 We know she had it set up so she would be able to shield it from public view.\u00a0 That was why she did it.\u00a0 The Clintons and the Democrats don\u2019t want us to be able to find out what they\u2019re really doing.\u00a0 They don\u2019t want there to be an email report, for example, that shows why $100 million has been given to them by foreign governments, for example.<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t want that record known.<\/p>\n

But we know that it happened.<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s gonna be up to now the political world to carry out the case, to prosecute the case.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, the timing of this. You know, let\u2019s not forget, the Democrat convention is the following week from the Republican convention.\u00a0 So I don\u2019t… The timing of all this? If you want to start playing those games, I mean, the Lynch meeting last week with Clinton, and then Hillary\u2019s interviewed for three or four hours this weekend?\u00a0 What the hell was that?\u00a0 And then Comey? Nobody knew on Friday this press conference gonna be today.\u00a0 Did you know Friday? (interruption)<\/p>\n

Nobody knew that… It was just this morning we found out that Comey is gonna have the press conference here.\u00a0 So look at what\u2019s happened in the last four days — just the last four.\u00a0 You had the Clinton-Lynch meeting on the tarmac in Phoenix. You had Hillary all of a sudden show up 3-1\/2, four hours to interview the FBI.\u00a0 We learned that all of the people the FBI was talking to on Hillary\u2019s staff could not tell the FBI anything, because she\u2019d hired all of them as her “lawyer,” quote\/unquote, granting them attorney-client privilege.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Meaning, they had to say nothing, even though she didn\u2019t hire some of them \u2019til years after this whole thing surfaced.\u00a0 So we have a weekend of speculation about Hillary\u2019s interview. “Oh, my God! Oh, my God! What does it mean?” Loretta Lynch was practically almost recusing <\/a>herself but falling short of that, saying, “No, no, no, no. I\u2019ll accept the recommendation of the FBI and the career prosecutors.”\u00a0 And then there\u2019s all this scuttlebutt throughout the weekend; then we all wake up today, and find out Comey\u2019s got a presser 11 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n

Whoa.<\/p>\n

On the same day, Barack Hussein O is putting Hillary Clinton on Air “Farce” One, flying her to a campaign appearance in North Carolina.\u00a0 Now, you know damn well he\u2019s not gonna do that if there\u2019s even the slightest possibility that the FBI\u2019s gonna recommend that she be indicted today.\u00a0 By the way, you know, people are asking the wrong question.\u00a0 Trump, come on! Get with it.\u00a0 The wrong question is, “Who\u2019s paying for it?”<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not the question.\u00a0 That\u2019s not gonna faze anybody.\u00a0 Okay, so it\u2019s $200,000 to operate Air Force One and Obama\u2019s taking her to a campaign appearance. \u00a0The fact that it cost a lot of money? That\u2019s not gonna change one person\u2019s vote.\u00a0 We\u2019re beyond that.\u00a0 The question is: Why is she on Air Force One to begin with?\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 He\u2019s not taking Trump on Air Force One with him.\u00a0 Why is he taking her?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, I mentioned earlier there\u2019s a piece in the Washington Post today by Chris Cillizza, and here\u2019s its headline:\u00a0 “Hillary Clinton\u2019s Email Problems Might Be Even Worse Than We Thought.”\u00a0 The piece was posted after Comey\u2019s press conference.<\/p>\n

It begins this way:\u00a0 “Here\u2019s the good news for Hillary Clinton: The FBI has recommended no charges be brought.\u00a0 Here\u2019s the bad news:\u00a0 Just about everything else.”\u00a0 And let me give you some pull quotes from this.\u00a0 Again, Washington Post, Chris Cillizza.<\/p>\n

“FBI Director James B. Comey dismantled large portions of Clinton\u2019s long-told story about her private server and what she sent or received on it during a stirring 15-minute news conference, following which he took no questions. While Comey exonerated Clinton legally speaking, he provided huge amounts of fodder that could badly hamstring her in the court of public opinion.”<\/p>\n
