RUSH:\u00a0 Okay.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had a whole day to digest this.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had a whole day to digest everything everybody else has said about this.\u00a0 And so we have a little bit better opportunity here to probe this to try to get to the nub of it.<\/p>\n

Greetings, my friends.\u00a0 Great to have you here.\u00a0 Yet another three-hour excursion into broadcast excellence hosted by me, Rush Limbaugh, coming up on our 28th anniversary on August 1st.\u00a0 I gotta make sure I\u2019m gonna be here that day.\u00a0 I don\u2019t see anything to prevent it, but I gotta make sure. Also I\u2019ve got Andy McCarthy coming on in a half hour.<\/a>\u00a0 He\u2019ll be with us after the break at the bottom of the hour.\u00a0 I seldom bring guests in here for a whole lot of reasons that I\u2019ve explained before.\u00a0 I don\u2019t need to go through it.\u00a0 I\u2019ve asked Andy to come on and summarize this: What do we know? Where are we? Day two.<\/p>\n

You know, he had a great piece yesterday practically immediately after Comey\u2019s press conference dissecting the two laws in question here and blowing up this whole concept of intent and Hillary\u2019s lack of it as the mechanism for not proceeding any further, and it was a brilliant piece.\u00a0 It was National Review Online<\/a>.\u00a0 It\u2019s been quoted practically everywhere.<\/p>\n

This whole business of her intent, everybody is wondering now: Was a fix in?\u00a0 Because it doesn\u2019t make sense otherwise.\u00a0 You know, and even I, I mean, I\u2019m being quoted all over the Drive-By Media in order to give Comey credibility here, because back in April I had gone out — well, not on a limb.\u00a0 I thought I was speaking honestly telling everybody there was something going on and something big, by the way, happening on April 10th, for those of you that think the fix might be in here, wait \u2019til you hear this, coming up in just a second.<\/p>\n

But we were discussing this, some of us, not on the air, and I had a lot of people asking me what I knew about Comey. I\u2019ve never met Comey, but I know a lot of people that do know Comey.\u00a0 Andy knows Comey very well.\u00a0 And I came on the program back in April and basically sang his virtues as a man of impeccable integrity, nonpartisan.\u00a0 And I still think that\u2019s the case in a lot of ways, which is another thing that I want to get into today.<\/p>\n

You know, the Republicans or conservatives always, when it comes to judging, when it comes to legalities, always try to do the right thing even if it harms their interests.\u00a0 Well, maybe a stretch to say “always,” but the Democrats never do.\u00a0 And that was on display yesterday<\/a>.\u00a0 So that\u2019s another thing I\u2019m teasing you with that before the program ends today I\u2019m going to get into.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019m being quoted all over the place to give Comey cover.\u00a0 “Why, even Rush Limbaugh said that Comey is beyond reproach.”\u00a0 It\u2019s in The Politico.\u00a0 “Even Rush Limbaugh said that Comey\u2019s integrity is unquestionable.”\u00a0 Da-da-da-da-da-da.\u00a0 And this is being done because everybody\u2019s in CYA.\u00a0 Everybody on the left, you know what they\u2019re laughing about?\u00a0 You know what they\u2019re smiling about?\u00a0 She got away with it.\u00a0 As long as she didn\u2019t go to jail, she\u2019s fine.\u00a0 If she\u2019s criminal and gets away with it, that\u2019s okay with them on the left.\u00a0 They don\u2019t care.\u00a0 They are not bothered by that.<\/p>\n

In fact, that\u2019s become a standard.\u00a0 Hillary\u2019s okay if they can\u2019t prove any criminality or if nobody wants to charge her with it, then whatever she did is fine.\u00a0 They just don\u2019t three people overboard, and we do.\u00a0 <\/a>We have had a habit of that.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know about habit, we\u2019ve had a practice of it for as long as I\u2019ve been doing this program, and a lot of the motivation for it is defensive. In addition to trying to do the right thing and obey the law and follow principle, there\u2019s a part of the conservative, slash, Republican movement that believes if we just show that we\u2019re fair and impeccable, then we will get credit from those who think we\u2019re all these horrible things, and maybe they won\u2019t hate us as much.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m so sick of that motivation.\u00a0 I\u2019m so sick of that reasoning why we support amnesty.\u00a0 “Well, we have to show the Hispanics that what the Democrats say about us isn\u2019t true.”\u00a0 So we undermine ourselves in some silly attempt to disprove all of these baseless allegations.\u00a0 As such, we\u2019re constantly on the defensive.\u00a0 And that\u2019s where we find ourselves now, trying to find out exactly what went on, why it went on, explaining it away, and then searching somehow for a way to overcome this.<\/p>\n

Rudy Giuliani has been on fire.\u00a0 We have audio sound bites from him.\u00a0 Do you remember the Bob Torricelli audio that we put together?\u00a0 Because everybody copies this now.\u00a0 Everybody does this, and I want to go back.\u00a0 This goes back to 2001.\u00a0 Bob Torricelli, Democrat member of the Senate, was basically about to be thrown out of office on corruption charges, and he went to the floor of the Senate to deny everything.\u00a0 And we juxtaposed his denials with an attorney from someone in an action against Torricelli who was listing all of the gifts and all the bribes that Torricelli had been given and offered in exchange for policy considerations on the Senate floor.\u00a0 So he\u2019s on the Senate floor denying it.\u00a0 We have the opposing lawyer listing all of the offenses.\u00a0 We call this the Torricelli montage, and this is how it was back in April of 2001.<\/p>\n

TORRICELLI: To challenge my integrity is beneath contempt. I do not deserve this treatment.<\/p>\n

CHANG: Two watches, a Rolex watch, diamond earrings for his girlfriend —<\/p>\n

TORRICELLI: I have never!<\/p>\n

CHANG: — a television set —<\/p>\n

TORRICELLI: Ever!<\/p>\n

CHANG: — Oriental rug, grandfather clock, other antique items —<\/p>\n

TORRICELLI: — done anything.<\/p>\n

CHANG: — suits —<\/p>\n

TORRICELLI: At any time.<\/p>\n

CHANG: — approximately 14 deliveries of envelopes of cash to Torricelli\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

TORRICELLI: To betray the trust of the people of the state of New Jersey. (pounds podium) Never!<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 And they got rid of him, and he was replaced by The Lout, Frank Lautenberg.\u00a0 Torricelli was losing.\u00a0 The Democrats can\u2019t lose, so they got rid of him, way beyond when it was permissible.\u00a0 The time for a replacement had passed, but the New Jersey Supreme Court made up of Democrat hacks said, “Hey, if our candidate can\u2019t go, sure you can put in a replacement,” and they did with Lautenberg, and he ended up winning.<\/p>\n

So to show you how this is done now.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got three different versions of this and they\u2019re all fabulous and they illustrate exactly what went on, the contradictions, the hypocrisy, and worse.\u00a0 First, Reason Magazine <\/a>on their website.<\/p>\n
