RUSH:\u00a0 Okay, some campaign news: Hillary Clinton desperately trying to change the subject is out attacking Donald Trump and his business practices in Atlantic City, claiming — by the way, get the word she\u2019s using — Trump “rigged” his Atlantic City business so he got paid no matter what.<\/p>\n

Anybody in the Trump campaign out there, please, do not spend much time on this.\u00a0 Do not let go of the message.\u00a0 Hillary lying, emails, unqualified, contemptible.\u00a0 Don\u2019t get sucked into this business of defending your business practices. \u00a0Stay on message.\u00a0 It\u2019s all I can do, folks.\u00a0 It\u2019s all I can do.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, this is important.\u00a0 Hillary went to Atlantic City today, and she\u2019s out there attacking Trump and his business practices, particularly the days which he owned casinos there, and she\u2019s using the word “rigged” to describe the way Trump set up his businesses. She\u2019s claiming that he rigged things so that no matter what happened he got paid.\u00a0 If the thing went belly up, there was bankruptcy, no matter what it was, Trump rigged it so that he got paid.<\/p>\n

Hillary is desperate to change the subject.\u00a0 She is desperate to get everybody off of this email story.\u00a0 You know, even the AP, I mean, to show you how bad this is, the AP did a fact check<\/a>, and the AP concluded that what Comey said is devastating.\u00a0 The AP concluded that Comey illustrated how much and how deeply she lied about things.\u00a0 And the AP, they still, even in their fact check, they attack Trump.\u00a0 They end up doing that trying to mitigate the damage.<\/p>\n

But you can\u2019t hide this.\u00a0 I mean, you can do your best to ignore it, but if you\u2019re gonna tackle it, if you\u2019re a fact checker, if you have any desire not to be a laughingstock, you\u2019ve gotta address this for what it is, and she is fully exposed, and she knows it.\u00a0 So she\u2019s out there — you know, she and Obama went to North Carolina.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t talk about this at all yesterday.\u00a0 Obama didn\u2019t talk about this at all yesterday.<\/p>\n

Obama started talking about Trump and started stuttering like crazy again.\u00a0 He was going off on Trump. I\u2019m guaranteeing you, Trump is living rent free in Obama\u2019s sizable head because he became a stuttering mess.\u00a0 But the point is they didn\u2019t mention this.\u00a0 They\u2019re all on Trump.\u00a0 The word on Trump is that he\u2019s got a thin skin. And the opposition research on Trump is that his thin skin means that if you attack him, he is guaranteed to attack you back no matter what else is going on.\u00a0 So what that means is that Hillary and her camp feel confident they can take Trump off message any time they want simply by leveling some charge, whether it\u2019s based in fact or not.<\/p>\n

Now, I was watching Fox during the top-of-the-hour break, and they\u2019re promoting a Trump appearance tonight.\u00a0 And the banner headline says: “Trump to respond to Hillary attacks on business practices tonight on the Fox News Channel.”\u00a0 Mr. Trump, if you do it, fly to Benghazi to do it, or fly to Arkansas, Whitewater.\u00a0 Don\u2019t change the subject on this.\u00a0 Her lack of qualification — she\u2019s trying to say, Mr. Trump, she\u2019s trying to say that you\u2019re temperamentally unsuitable, you\u2019re temperamentally unfit.\u00a0 You\u2019re not qualified.\u00a0 You have no business being president, running for president.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s the one who is unfit.\u00a0 She\u2019s the one who can\u2019t pass a credibility test or an integrity test.\u00a0 She is the one who is the standout liar.\u00a0 She is the one who exposes the nation to great danger.\u00a0 Don\u2019t get off that message.\u00a0 Your voters don\u2019t care about your business practices in the casino.\u00a0 That\u2019s not why you have your legion of supporters.\u00a0 I know he\u2019s gonna defend himself; that\u2019s just his nature.\u00a0 But don\u2019t make it the focal point of what you\u2019re doing here.\u00a0 Don\u2019t let her take you off message so easily.<\/p>\n

This is my fervent wish.\u00a0 This is the only way I know how to do it.\u00a0 And if you\u2019re gonna do it, go to Benghazi.\u00a0 You got a plane; fly to Benghazi and do the report when you talk about Hillary Clinton.\u00a0 She\u2019s attacking you on you don\u2019t know how to run a business; she didn\u2019t know how to run a State Department.\u00a0 Go to Benghazi.\u00a0 Go to Whitewater in Arkansas.\u00a0 Point that Boeing 757 of yours someplace where she\u2019s been and screwed it up and do your answer from there.<\/p>\n

I know he\u2019s in Ohio today.\u00a0 In fact, one of the things supposedly happening today is that Newt is gonna be auditioning for the VP slot today.\u00a0 By virtue of how he does speaking on behalf of Trump.\u00a0 I know it\u2019s in Ohio.\u00a0 I forget exactly where.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Trump is out now thinking about responding to her attacks on his way of running a business, a penchant, she says for filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the way he rigged his casino operations to get paid no matter who else lost money.\u00a0 And I know that he\u2019s gonna respond to it; he can\u2019t help it.\u00a0 That\u2019s who he is.\u00a0 But I hope that he doesn\u2019t get taken off message.\u00a0 I hope he doesn\u2019t let this whole business of her and this server stuff, this email stuff, skate, \u2019cause she\u2019s desperately trying to change the narrative on this.\u00a0 She\u2019s trying to change the message, if you will.\u00a0 She hasn\u2019t even commented on this yet.\u00a0 Neither did Obama yesterday.\u00a0 She hasn\u2019t said a word about this, at least not that I\u2019m aware of.\u00a0 All she\u2019s done is ignore it and turn everything back around on Trump.<\/p>\n

Now, Trump has done one thing that I find very encouraging.\u00a0 I\u2019ll tell you a little story.\u00a0 I saw a New York Times story on Sunday.\u00a0 Folks, I was appalled at this, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There was a New York Times story in which Mrs. Clinton said that she is thinking of holding Loretta Lynch on as attorney general if she\u2019s elected president<\/a>.\u00a0 That is bribery!\u00a0 That was in the New York Times on Sunday.\u00a0 That is before Comey comes out on Tuesday and his press conference.\u00a0 This is before anybody knows what\u2019s going on.\u00a0 This is a result of the meeting that Bill Clinton has with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac in Phoenix<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/a>So there\u2019s a little quote and it\u2019s at the very end of the story.\u00a0 Most people probably didn\u2019t see it.\u00a0 It was a long story.\u00a0 Most people don\u2019t read to the end of news stories, particularly if they\u2019re reading the hard copy of the paper and have to change pages.\u00a0 What a pain in the butt.\u00a0 If you are used to getting your news on a five-inch screen and all of a sudden you\u2019re reading a newspaper and it\u2019s continue to page 8B, to hell with that.\u00a0 You just don\u2019t even go there.\u00a0 So you read what\u2019s on the front page.\u00a0 And even people reading it on computers and other digital media may not read all the way to the end of it.<\/p>\n

Can I give you a little hint?\u00a0 If you want to know how to read a news story, let me tell you what to do.\u00a0 Read the first two paragraphs and the last.\u00a0 Particularly if you\u2019re reading a column.\u00a0 If you\u2019re reading a column, read the first paragraph and the last.\u00a0 Those are the nut, money paragraphs.\u00a0 In a news story, pretty much same thing.\u00a0 I have learned this over the course of many years of study.\u00a0 So I read the end of stories and it was the end of a story in which Hillary Clinton is quoted as saying that she is inclined, she\u2019s thinking seriously about retaining Loretta Lynch as attorney general.<\/p>\n

Folks, that\u2019s bribery.\u00a0 That is bribery.\u00a0 And I sent that quote, I cut and pasted that quote into another email and I sent that out to some friends and to some people, and I said, “Look at this!\u00a0 This is flat-out bribery.”\u00a0 And I can\u2019t tell you how excited I was when I saw Trump call it the same thing.\u00a0 No, I didn\u2019t send it anywhere to Trump.\u00a0 Trump doesn\u2019t do email.\u00a0 But he saw that for what it is, or somebody there did, and called Hillary out on it.\u00a0 And that\u2019s the kind of stuff that is going to be necessary here.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
