RUSH: Here\u2019s George Stephanopoulos.\u00a0 This is another theme that\u2019s all over the place; that is there\u2019s too many Trump family members.\u00a0 “They\u2019re overplaying the family card, and there\u2019s way too many Trump family people out there.\u00a0 And there\u2019s way too many Trump family member involved in the campaign.\u00a0 They don\u2019t know what they\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n

“They shouldn\u2019t be selecting vice presidents, and they shouldn\u2019t be writing speeches, and they shouldn\u2019t be planning conventions, \u2019cause the Trump family doesn\u2019t know anything about politics.\u00a0 And there\u2019s too many of them on the convention floor, and there\u2019s too many of them speaking, and they\u2019re already…”\u00a0 Can you imagine them saying this about the Kennedy family?\u00a0 Can you imagine them saying this about Clinton and barmaids and the ladies of the night and the other guests that are part of the Clinton extended family showing up? They\u2019d never, ever say anything about that.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a conversation between George Stephanopoulos and Cokie Roberts on ABC.<\/p>\n

STEPHANOPOULOS:\u00a0 Is there any danger of overplaying the family card?<\/p>\n

ROBERTS:\u00a0 Sure there is, because at some point, isn\u2019t there anybody else?\u00a0 And how many things can you say about how great my dad is, which is why Donald Trump Jr.\u2019s speech last night was good because it didn\u2019t just do that.\u00a0 His wife gave the keynote speech, and now his daughter introducing him.\u00a0 It is a family affair here.\u00a0 And, um, Ivanka, though, uhh, everyone has been very impressed by, and the truth is, they are his chief campaign advisors.\u00a0 That family is a close corporation, and they are really the people doing the deciding here.\u00a0 And so therefore the delegates on the floor want to know, y\u2019know, more about \u2019em.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.\u00a0 The delegates want to know more about him, but there are too many people talking about him?\u00a0 Which is it?\u00a0 She said here at the front, “Well, at some point isn\u2019t there anybody else?\u00a0 How many things can you say about how great my dad is?”\u00a0 And then at the end, “The delegates on the floor, they want to know, y\u2019know, more about him.”\u00a0 So which is it?\u00a0 Too much Trump, not enough Trump, too many Trumpers, too many Trump family members, not enough Trump family members, too many people singing dad\u2019s praises, not enough people doing it? What is it?\u00a0 They don\u2019t know how to report this. It just doesn\u2019t fit.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Cokie Roberts mentioned Donald Trump Jr. last night. Do you know he did that without a prompter last night?\u00a0 Were you aware of that?\u00a0 That\u2019s what I heard.\u00a0 I heard he did not use the prompter for the speech.\u00a0 You know, as I\u2019m watching Donald Trump Jr., the reaction I had?\u00a0 I\u2019m thinking leftists, the socialists, the Democrats, they gotta be watching with sheer panic.\u00a0 Articulate, intelligent, passionate, handsome, and not one of them.<\/p>\n

I think Donald Trump Jr., Donald Trump Sr., Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump, I think those are the kind of people the left resents the hell out of.\u00a0 They\u2019re just lucky.\u00a0 They\u2019re too perfect. They\u2019re rich, they\u2019re attractive, they\u2019ve never faced any bias and discrimination.\u00a0 I think the Trump family is almost a microcosm for what it is people on the left despise.\u00a0 Because the Trump family doesn\u2019t need feminism, they don\u2019t need any of the other leftist causes to have any meaning in their lives.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re self-sufficient. They\u2019re self-reliant. They\u2019re intelligent. They\u2019re educated. They\u2019re independently intelligent. They\u2019ve been raised obviously great by a father and mother that care deeply about them.\u00a0 Everything the left resents is wrapped up here I think, and I mean that, folks.\u00a0 I think it from the bottom of my heart, that the Trump family stokes resentment like you can\u2019t believe.\u00a0 That\u2019s why all these people say that there were too many Trump kids on the stage. “There\u2019s too much Trump, too many family members. They don\u2019t know what they\u2019re doing.”<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not why.\u00a0 They make too good an impression.\u00a0 Listen to a little bit of Donald Trump Jr.<\/p>\n
