{"id":215078,"date":"2016-12-02T17:31:28","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T22:31:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/172.24.32.11\/daily\/2016\/12\/02\/what_make_america_great_again_means_to_an_insane_democrat_on_cnn\/"},"modified":"2018-02-05T10:32:38","modified_gmt":"2018-02-05T15:32:38","slug":"what_make_america_great_again_means_to_an_insane_democrat_on_cnn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2016\/12\/02\/what_make_america_great_again_means_to_an_insane_democrat_on_cnn\/","title":{"rendered":"What &#8220;Make America Great Again&#8221; Means to an Insane Democrat on CNN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: &nbsp;There\u2019s a sound bite you have to hear.&nbsp; I saw this one myself, as the show prep this morning, I\u2019m watching CNN, and it\u2019s typical.&nbsp; You have the CNN infobabe anchorette, Carol Costello and then two anti-Trump Democrat strategists and Scottie Nell Hughes, a pro-Trump strategist.&nbsp; So three against one: Three anti-Trump, pro-Hillary against one.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And they\u2019re ganging up on her, as per usual, but I want you to hear one of these guests, Symone Sanders.&nbsp; Carol Costello says (impression), &#8220;You know, Symone, I think that many of Mr. Trump\u2019s supporters out there don\u2019t consider themselves racist and they\u2019re really upset to be called that, and a lot of them don\u2019t really understand why they\u2019re being called racist.&nbsp; They just want some economic help.&nbsp; So, Symone, what do you&#8230;?&#8221; Listen to this.&nbsp; This is a Bernie Sanders campaign communications director.&nbsp; Her name is Symone Sanders.&nbsp; Listen to this, folks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_131447\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Stop-the-Tape-120216-B.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>SANDERS:&nbsp; We have to be real and understand that the populism around Donald Trump\u2019s campaign was intrinsically tied to racism.&nbsp; It was intrinsically tied to making people that were not white working class &#8220;the other.&#8221;&nbsp; &#8220;Make America Great Again&#8221; takes us back to &#8212; people that look like me takes us back to &#8212; the time we were in slavery, we were in chains, when we worked on plantations, internment camps for the Chinese.&nbsp; So it is really, really important that, if we want to heal, that if people want to get past, if Trump supporters want to say, &#8220;Well, why are you calling me racist,&#8221; we have to understand that populism was tied to elements of racism.&nbsp; People think racism is dogs and white hoods and water hoses and the N-word.&nbsp; And that is not the only form of racism.&nbsp; There are microaggressions. There are, &#8220;Oh, you speak so well.&#8221;&nbsp; These are microaggressions that are forms of prejudice and discrimination that we have to address.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Symone Sanders. Symone Sanders. She worked for Bernie Sanders, communication director, but they believe it. Folks, they believe this.&nbsp; This is the thing. They\u2019re not just mouthing this stuff, they believe.&nbsp; This is insane, this the clinically insane, and she believes it.&nbsp; I\u2019ll run through it again \u2019cause I want to parse this for you.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: &nbsp;So we have your phone calls coming up.&nbsp; We have audio coming up from the contretemps at Harvard on Wednesday night.&nbsp; The Clinton campaign team, Hillary Clinton versus the Trump campaign people, basically Jennifer Palmieri versus Kellyanne Conway.&nbsp; These are normally very refined and dignified postmortems of the campaign where the competing campaign consultants and managers, with a very respectful eye toward each other, review what happened and agree to basically be civilized.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That broke down totally because the Clinton team basically sounds just like Symone Sanders here.&nbsp; &#8220;It was white supremacy! You Trump people were sending dog whistles out there, you heard it, Trump did it, he was signaling white racists from everywhere. I wouldn\u2019t even want to win the way you people won.&#8221;&nbsp; That\u2019s Jennifer Palmieri and you\u2019ll hear that coming up.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But I want to go back here to Symone Sanders.&nbsp; CNN sees it perfectly fine to put her on the air.&nbsp; This is a special kind of stupid.&nbsp; It\u2019s bordering on clinically insane.&nbsp; This is very important, folks, that you understand they believe this, and the reason that you must believe and accept that they believe it is because it governs how they do everything:&nbsp; how they approach you, how they define you, how they see the country, how they devise policy for the country.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is insanity, a special kind of stupid.&nbsp; Listen to it again here.&nbsp; I\u2019m gonna maybe do a start-stop parsing of this as it goes.&nbsp; Again, this is former Bernie Sanders campaign communications director, Symone Sanders, being asked about Trump\u2019s voters by Carol Costello just this morning.&nbsp; She says, &#8220;Many of Trump\u2019s supporters do not consider themselves racists, and they\u2019re really upset to be called that, and a lot of them don\u2019t really understand why they\u2019re being called racist.&nbsp; They just want some economic help.&nbsp; So, Symone, what do you say to that?&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS:&nbsp; We have to be real and understand that the populism around Donald Trump\u2019s campaign was intrinsically tied to racism.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"325\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g5ulvcqaiM8\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>RUSH: Stop the tape!&nbsp; Intrinsically tied to racism.&nbsp; Every Democrat from Hillary on down, this was the defining characteristic to them of the Trump campaign, the defining characteristic of Trump, the defining characteristic of Trump supporters, the defining characteristic of Trump\u2019s appeal.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is pathetic.&nbsp; It\u2019s disgusting.&nbsp; But they do it all the time.&nbsp; When they\u2019ve run out of substantive reasons, they just start throwing the race card and call everybody who\u2019s not African-American or Hispanic a racist.&nbsp; And it worked for eight years, folks.&nbsp; The reason why you\u2019ve got to understand this, it worked for eight years.&nbsp; It shut people up.&nbsp; It paralyzed legitimate criticism of the president of the United States because this is how they attacked anybody who criticized Obama.&nbsp; &#8220;Well, you\u2019re just a pathetic racist.&nbsp; You\u2019re just you\u2019re just a white supremacist.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And of course elected officials don\u2019t want to be called that, so they don\u2019t criticize.&nbsp; In fact, they announce they\u2019re not gonna criticize and they announce they\u2019re not gonna impeach and they announce they\u2019re not even gonna oppose Obama.&nbsp; But he\u2019s president.&nbsp; The fact that he\u2019s the first African-American president, you get past that the first day. It\u2019s time to turn them loose.&nbsp; It\u2019s time to rely on the people who are the backbone of this country and get the government out of the way and regulations out of the way and obstacles out of the way and let them be the best they can be.&nbsp; Make America great again.&nbsp; She hears this, Symone Sanders hears this as a return to the plantation.&nbsp; Have you ever heard anybody, folks, in your lifetime, have you ever heard anybody that you know or anywhere in politics define the greatest days of America as our days pre-Civil War?&nbsp; Make America great, slavery?&nbsp; How many of you know people who think that\u2019s when America was great?&nbsp; How many of you have ever heard anybody define it that way?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t.&nbsp; Nobody thinks it.&nbsp; Nobody says it.&nbsp; Nobody has said it.&nbsp; Certainly not in the modern era.&nbsp; But she claims that that\u2019s what people mean, and she claims to have heard \u2019em say it.&nbsp; &#8220;&#8216;Make America Great Again\u2019 takes me back to a time we were in slavery.&nbsp; We were in chains, when we worked on the plantations.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Internment camps for the Chinese?&nbsp; Internment camps for the Chinese?&nbsp; What in the world is she talking about?&nbsp; It was FDR, noted Democrat, who interned the Japanese in World War II, but I didn\u2019t know that there were Chinese slave owners.&nbsp; Internment camps for the Chinese?&nbsp; So while blacks were in slavery we were interning the Chinese while they were building the railroads?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The woman is off-the-charts a special kind of stupid.&nbsp; But there she is.&nbsp; She\u2019s got a vaunted position to mouth off on CNN.&nbsp; And it matters because there are people equally as insane watching that network, and they\u2019re soaking it up.&nbsp; And they\u2019re getting angry, and they\u2019re going, &#8220;Rah-rah, you tell \u2019em, Symone.&#8221;&nbsp; This stuff is dangerous.&nbsp; She wasn\u2019t finished.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: So it is really, really important that if we want to heal, that if people want to get past, if Trump supporters want to say, &#8220;Well, why are you calling me racist,&#8221; that we have to understand that populism was tied to elements of racism.&nbsp; People think racism is dogs and white hoods and water hoses and the N-word.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:&nbsp; Stop the tape!&nbsp; There are people who think that.&nbsp; &#8220;We must acknowledge that people think racism is dogs and white hoods and water hoses and the N-word.&#8221;&nbsp; You know who those people were?&nbsp; Democrats.&nbsp; George Wallace, Lester Maddox, Bull Connor, they were Democrats.&nbsp; The sheriff\u2019s and law enforcement turning dogs and water hoses on African-Americans in Selma were Democrats.&nbsp; The segregationists in the Senate, J. William Fulbright, Strom Thurmond, they were Democrats.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They were not Republicans.&nbsp; They were not the precedents of Donald Trump.&nbsp; They were Democrats.&nbsp; &#8220;People think racism is dogs and white hoods.&#8221;&nbsp; The KKK was the military arm of the Democrat Party.&nbsp; The KKK has actually had a member elected, two members elected to government positions, one in the Senate, his name is Robert &#8220;Sheets&#8221; Byrd, he\u2019s a Democrat.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The KKK was Democrats.&nbsp; Bull Connor &#8212; turning dogs and fire hoses on African-Americans in Selma &#8212; Democrat. Lester Maddox, Democrat. George Wallace, Democrat.&nbsp; She wants to blame this on Trump?&nbsp; She wants to say that when Trump does a rally, this is what people are thinking of?&nbsp; Trump was in Cincinnati last night.&nbsp; How many of you watching had visions of the KKK in your head?&nbsp; How many of you watching had visions of fire hoses and Bull Connor and playing in your mind all those water hoses being aimed at&#8230;?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nobody.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Absolutely nobody.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"eZObject_131498\" class=\"img_middle\" align=\"middle\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Trump-Sign-Thank-You-America.jpg\"\/><line xmlns:tmp=\"http:\/\/ez.no\/namespaces\/ezpublish3\/temporary\/\">But apparently Symone Sanders did.&nbsp; Special kind of stupid, bordering on clinically insane.&nbsp; And then the &#8220;microaggressions.&#8221;&nbsp; This is why you need me to explain this to you, the last aspect of what she said.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/line><\/p>\n<p>SANDERS: And that is not the only form of racism.&nbsp; There are microaggressions. A clean, articulate black guy.&#8221; Al Sharpton was livid when he heard this.&nbsp; He takes showers. (interruption)&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well, Harry Reid said it. Joe Biden said it.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Clean, articulate black guy.&#8221;&nbsp; Harry Reid said (summarized), &#8220;What I love about Obama is he can turn on that &#8216;Negro dialect\u2019 whenever he wants.&#8221;&nbsp; All of the people that Symone Sanders claims to be upset by are Democrats! Symone, they are in your party! They are not Donald Trump, and they\u2019re not Donald Trump supporters.&nbsp; But she says, &#8220;People that admire Obama microaggression \u2019cause he speaks so well.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a put-down, you see?&nbsp; Why is it a put down to compliment Obama on the way he speaks?&nbsp; Who&#8230;? Why&#8230;? What must you think if you believe that?&nbsp; This is all on her.&nbsp; Symone Sanders is telling us who she is and trying to lay that off on Trump and his supporters.&nbsp; This is why I say &#8212;
