RUSH: So what do you think about Newt? What\u2019s the date of this? I printed it out on January 1st. New Year\u2019s Day, Newt is on This Week, Stephanopoulos\u2019 show. He was asked what he fears the most during a Trump presidency. Newt said that they will lose their nerve. I mean, look, they\u2019re going to arrive in Washington and for them to be successful, they have to stake out positions that Donna Brazile — how is that woman still on TV? An acknowledged cheater, I mean, it\u2019s a rhetorical question, I\u2019m just trying to make a point by asking it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>How in the world is that woman still on TV with any credibility? She\u2019s right there with as much credibility as she\u2019s ever had for people on the left. Anyway, so Newt says they\u2019re gonna arrive in Washington and for them to be successful they have to stake out positions that Donna Brazile will not like and that the left is gonna hate. My deepest concern is that they\u2019re gonna arrive, you\u2019re gonna have the environmentalist wackos going crazy over at EPA and Interior. You\u2019re gonna have the government employees going crazy about civil service reform. You\u2019re gonna have the teachers union going crazy over school choice. And these are pretty non-negotiable.<\/p>\n

I mean, if you\u2019re serious about school choice, if you\u2019re the Trump team coming in, there is no agreement with the teachers union. There is no compromise with the Environmental Protection Agency. There is no common ground with the Department of the Interior. I\u2019m worried, Newt said, that when they realize how big the problem is, that they\u2019re gonna decide, you know what, we don\u2019t want to work that hard, it\u2019s too massive. We\u2019re just gonna try to nibble away here every day and do the best we can and essentially give in.<\/p>\n

Now, what prompted Mr. Newt? Do you share that fear, by the way, Mr. Snerdley? You do! You share the fear that the Trump people are gonna cave? All right, all right, all right, all right. But this is the point. He said the Trump people. They\u2019re gonna arrive, you\u2019re a gonna have the greens going — now, if he\u2019s talking about the Republicans in Congress, yeah. But the Trump people caving when they realize how tough and big the job is? Look, this Obamacare, I warned everybody before the break about this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
