“On last night\u2019s CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, anchor Dan Rather said again that the network believes the documents are authentic. The detailed comparison?” I mean what else are they going to do at this stage? I mean it\u2019s too late here to — this is so simple, and yet for them it\u2019s so complicated. <\/line>“A detailed comparison by the Washington Post of memos obtained by CBS News with authenticated documents on Bush\u2019s National Guard service reveal dozens of inconsistencies ranging from conflicting military terminology to different word processing techniques. The analysis shows that half a dozen Killian memos released earlier in the military were from a standard typewriter using different formatting techniques from those characteristic of computer generated documents. CBS\u2019 Killian memos bear numerous signs that are more consistent with modern day word processing programs, particularly Microsoft Word.” <\/line>Another devastating quote here, “Joseph Newcomer, author of several books on Windows who worked on electronic typesetting techniques in the early 1970s said, ‘I am personally 100% sure they are fake.\u2019 Newcomer said he had produced a virtually exact replicas of the CBS documents use Microsoft Word formatting and the Times New Roman font.” <\/line>“I am personally 100% sure they are fake.” Now, this guy, a renowned expert, is not going to go out on that limb and have somebody saw it off right behind him. The fact is, there are many people that now know these things are forgeries. So the question again becomes, what is CBS to do, why can\u2019t they just say, “Okay, we got fooled?” Because they probably — I hate to use the word probably. Let me run through this again, one more time. Everybody is trying to figure out the source of the documents, folks, and the source of the documents will lead to the forger. Now, forgery and trying to affect a federal election, those are criminal acts. Those are felonious acts.<\/line> <\/line>Now, a lot of people, I am one of them included, does not believe CBS is an innocent victim here. CBS, where are their normal standards and practices? Somebody gives you copies<\/emphasize> and says these are the real thing, you check \u2019em out. Why didn\u2019t they check \u2019em out? They wanted it to be true. They wanted the scoop. For so many years, this story has been looked at through a microscope, and the mainstream press and the liberal Democrat establishment has got themselves convinced that Bush cheated. They\u2019ve got themselves convinced that there\u2019s something to find here, even though four years of steady investigations found nothing, even though Ann Richards trying to make an issue of it in the Texas governor\u2019s race found nothing, these people once they get an idea in their head there\u2019s got to be something there, the desire on CBS\u2019 part for the scoop, for an award — big things are made of bringing down a president, CBS knows this. Look at Woodward and Bernstein. Big things can happen to you when you bring down a president. In fact, if you are a young journalist out there and you\u2019re working at the Podunk Times and you want to end up at some major network or newspaper there\u2019s one simple thing I can tell you to do, go out and destroy some local figure in your community. You will be noticed and you will be credited as someone who has a vision to make the world a better place, and your star will rise. Just keep destroying people. That\u2019s what you should do because that\u2019s what gets you noticed. And that\u2019s what CBS was trying to do, destroy a president.<\/line> <\/line>And they thought, oh, they had it in the palm of their hands. They had the evidence. They didn\u2019t care whether it was true or not. They are CBS. They could make people believe it. They forgot they have competitors now. They are not Edward R. Murrow. They are not Charles Collingswood. They are not Eric Sevareid, not Walter Cronkite, thank God. Now, there are people looking into this, and so what\u2019s happened now is they have been presented forged documents and if they identify who gave them the documents and if those documents came from somebody with direct ties to the Kerry campaign, to the Democratic Party, here are the three things that result from that knowledge. A, Dan Rather\u2019s career is over that day. B, CBS\u2019 reputation is over for many, many, many, many years, and the Kerry campaign, C, is finished. That\u2019s what happens with one simple fact: the ID of the person who is the source because these are forged. That\u2019s why they\u2019re going to go \u2019till hell freezes over trying to protect this source because too many people things get destroyed. It\u2019s not just damaged. There is utter destruction of institutions that happens, not to mention the criminal characteristics and aspects that accompany this. <\/line>So this is huge, folks. It\u2019s very, very huge and there\u2019s not a whole lot them do here at this stage but dare people to try to find out and then stonewall that effort as best they can. Quick time-out. Don\u2019t misunderstand. I\u2019m not saying that\u2019s the right thing to do. When you\u2019re a cornered rat and the pet cat is coming after you, there\u2019s not too many options you\u2019ve got to stay alive. You can\u2019t run because you\u2019re in a corner. About all you can do is try to kill the cat. <\/line> <\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll tell you, folks, the only way to understand the press and the Democratic Party today is to simple understand this. Today\u2019s Democrats embrace the ideology of George McGovern and Ted Kennedy, and utilize the tactics of Bill and Hillary Clinton. And if you want to understand the party, that\u2019s the best way to do it.<\/line> <\/line>Now, H.R. asked me, “I don\u2019t understand what you\u2019re saying. Why is it so dangerous for CBS, why don\u2019t they just produce the originals and let people examine those? Keep the source quiet, produce the originals. Why will producing the originals identify the source?” And now I said yesterday, if they want to end this tomorrow, produce the originals and then let an independent group of experts analyze them. The problem is there are no originals. That\u2019s the whole point. These are forgeries. These things are made up. There are no originals. What they\u2019ve got are probably the original forgeries. This is the bind they\u2019re in. There are no originals here, folks. And CBS is not even claiming that there are. They\u2019re saying they\u2019ve got photocopies. That\u2019s how they\u2019re protecting themselves. We don\u2019t know if there are originals. It\u2019s a mess. It is an absolute mess. <\/line>I\u2019ll tell you, I don\u2019t care however they want to spin this, this is not the way big news used to be done as a business. I mean they\u2019ve always been biased, they\u2019ve always been this — but there was a day, there was a day where you pretty much trusted that they put it on, it was true. You might not like what they put on, but it had an element of truth in it. Those days are gone. And that\u2019s a big problem. Look, I\u2019ve got a lot of stuff here in the staff, we\u2019ve been talking. I\u2019ve pretty much said what I can say about it because there\u2019s not much more to say. They\u2019re in deep doo-doo here and there\u2019s not much more they can do.<\/line>END TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n
