RUSH: Tammy in Long Island. Hi, Tammy, great to have you with us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, my gosh. Hi, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you so much. I\u2019m really nervous. I just wanted to call —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Why are you nervous?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because I\u2019m a huge fan of yours, and — I don\u2019t know. I\u2019m usually pretty quiet when it comes to politics, but I guess lately I\u2019ve just become really, like, with the election and everything, just encouraged but also kind of right now a little discouraged by everything that\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. Well, as far as the call\u2019s concerned, don\u2019t be nervous. It\u2019s gonna end up feeling like you\u2019re having your back rubbed with a mink glove. Don\u2019t sweat it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I just wanted to call in because yesterday you were talking about Milo Yiannopoulos. And I\u2019m a huge fan of Milo. I\u2019m a Millennial conservative. And I feel like Milo Yiannopoulos is kind of the voice for the young voters in this country who are conservative and support Trump. And I feel like the treatment he\u2019s been getting is really unfair. And also I wanted to say, you know, to the members of the audience who weren\u2019t familiar with him until, you know, this story broke, he\u2019s very intelligent.<\/p>\n

\"\"His message is all about freedom of speech and having the right to voice your opinion no matter what, if you\u2019re Republican or Democrat. And I feel like I\u2019m a little upset because I feel like he\u2019s been getting, you know, a lot of, like, a bad rap. And even the right has kind of mistreated him. Like they didn\u2019t give him a chance, really, after what happened to explain or even release a statement on it. And I don\u2019t know if you watched his press conference yesterday on what happened, but I just wanted to say that he\u2019s very important to I think the conservative movement in the country, especially among young voters.<\/p>\n

RUSH: How would you compare him to, say, Lena Dunham on the left?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I\u2019m not saying that what he says is right. I mean, he\u2019s definitely speaking as a victim, but I think in just comparing him to Lena Dunham where she wrote in her own book, you know, some things that I think were inappropriate and no one really held her accountable, and she wasn\u2019t even put in the position to really explain what she wrote.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Nobody\u2019s ever gonna hold her accountable. She\u2019s a liberal and she\u2019s a woman and so she\u2019s doubly indemnified against —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — any serious analysis of what the hell she says or thinks. It\u2019s a clear example of the double standard out there, Tammy. I mean, this woman makes up being raped or something at Oberlin College and then she did commercials for Hillary so she\u2019s a darling, she ran that TV show at HBO. HBO\u2019s a left-wing enclave. It\u2019s worshiped. And so she benefits from that. The left defends their, whatever you want to call, partisans, activists or what have you.<\/p>\n

Where I think Milo ran into trouble — I\u2019ll just tell you, when word spread that Milo had been invited to be the keynote speaker at CPAC, there were some in the — and by the way, the conservative movement today is so fractured that I think you\u2019d have a tough time actually defining it and pointing to it. Like, who is the conservative movement, where is it located, and who runs it, and who\u2019s in charge of it? They can\u2019t even agree within the conservative movement who is a conservative and who isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Now, I think CPAC, by inviting Milo, was an attempt to reach out to Millennials. I mean, they know. I know plenty of young people that think Milo is great, love Milo, admire Milo, think he\u2019s courageous doing what he does. I think where the bridge was crossed here, Tammy — and I say this from afar, I think once you even wade into the water on, even if it\u2019s just alleged pedophilia, you\u2019re gonna run out of people to defend you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. Like I said, I\u2019m not condoning what he said, and I think he even took responsibility for what he said and the poor choice of words he used for it, but I mean, like I said, there are other examples on the left where this has happened and nothing\u2019s really come of it. Like Lena Dunham or Roman Polanski. And, like, if Milo was, say, a Democrat, I think they would be protecting him, they wouldn\u2019t —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh! Oh there\u2019s no question about it. This is a great. You\u2019re 23, did you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fabulous lesson you\u2019re learning here of the double standard. You hit the nail on the head. If Milo were a liberal, he could say whatever and then some, and he wouldn\u2019t be addressing CPAC, he would be emceeing the Oscars.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. And I guess, you know, after a while people like me, they get fed up because it\u2019s, first of all, being surrounded by fake news, and now seeing someone who is trying to change the conservative movement and make it more — trying to give it strength almost in a way by going out there and saying what\u2019s on his mind, not being afraid to speak and seeing how the media\u2019s trying to take him down.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: Well, the conservative movement — let me tell you, Tammy, I go wading into the fire fit, but the conservative movement — jeez. Look at Milo. He\u2019s in his twenties. He\u2019s flamboyantly gay. We\u2019re nowhere near the conservative movement here, Tammy. Ideologically he\u2019s pure. Ideologically he\u2019s brave, he\u2019s right down the line, and I understand why you like him and so forth. But the conservative movement, it\u2019s kind of like — I\u2019m out of time here. Look, I\u2019ll continue to address this, Tammy, but I have to go.<\/p>\n
