RUSH: Here\u2019s Jim in Portland, Oregon, as we go back to the phones. Welcome, Jim. I\u2019m glad you waited. How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m doing fine, sir. You\u2019re doing well, I hear, \u2019cause you\u2019re talking like you always do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate that. Thank you much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It feels good. (chuckling)<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that. What\u2019s up?<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: I\u2019ve got a couple observations. One of them is, I\u2019m a Republican, my wife\u2019s Democrat, and when I was talking to her, \u2019cause she\u2019s sitting there whining that (impression) “Trump\u2019s doing everything else…” I\u2019m saying, “Well, you know, I felt the same way when Obama got elected, and you didn\u2019t hear me cry.” Oh, World War III started. She started yelling and… Well, she didn\u2019t yell. She stopped talking to me, and when she did talk it wasn\u2019t nice to me for a while.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sorry to hear that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s the way it is. You know, we\u2019ve married 37 years; we know each other.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But she loved Hillary, and I kept trying to tell her about Hillary, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re dealing with a degree of irrationality there that you can\u2019t resolve. It\u2019s best to just let the venting happen, and if you have to, take the blame and then go on.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I do. I do. Like I say, we know each other.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s like we were… She was watching, I think, All The President\u2019s Men with Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford the other day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I said, “That\u2019s what\u2019s going on in Washington right now with Trump,” and she says, “No, it isn\u2019t.” I said, “Well, you just keep watching. If it comes out, it will be.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s even worse than that. They had to make half of that movie up.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah. I mean I went through that. She was still in school, but I wasn\u2019t. So I went through that. I liked Nixon, really, but that\u2019s beside the point.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is the point?<\/p>\n

CALLER: What was that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is the point? What is it you wanted to say, other than that? I know you didn\u2019t call here for advice on marriage.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I was just saying, just an observation from my wife, how Democrats cry, whine and everything else where Republicans, we just kind of suck it up and let it go. You know, we just go from there.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: I thought you were gonna say something about global warming.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I was! That was the other thing, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I thought you had something else.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The other one was.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, China is building all these islands out in the Pacific for their military bases?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: If global warming was gonna come and raise everything 200 feet like they say, would China be doing all that money in research?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. No. And besides, the ChiComs are the biggest polluters of CO2 in the world right now!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes. By all means they are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Does your wife believe in climate change that we\u2019re slowly losing the planet?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Ohhhhh, yeah. (laughing) Yeah, she does. I don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That one is… That\u2019s the toughest I\u2019ve found. That\u2019s pure, pure emotion, and they\u2019ve been lied to. I guarantee you your wife thinks that every scientist in the world agrees. “There is a consensus of scientists.” That\u2019s the trick that they have played. You know, if you talk to people… You realize this month has been unseasonably warm in Washington and New York, and I was talking to some people. They said, “If this is global warming, bring me more of it.” (laughing) They\u2019ve absolutely enjoyed this past month, and so… I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s bogus. It\u2019s a typical… It\u2019s a classic liberal technique here to con people into supporting massive tax increases and Big Government and everything. It\u2019s a shame that she does.
