RUSH: The Drive-By Media today is either really narrowly focused or very ignorant. They\u2019re actually discussing here, and are surprised, at how anti-Semitic the Hezbos are. This is Anderson Cooper last night on CNN in northern Israel along the Israeli Lebanon border interviewing New York magazine\u2019s Jeffrey Goldberg. Cooper says, “I think what\u2019s been lost in a lot of this coverage is just how anti-Semitic Hezbollah is in the rhetoric.”<\/line>GOLDBERG: It\u2019s absolutely fascinating, Anderson, the anti-Semitism. There\u2019s two things that are fascinating about it. One is how embedded in the core of Hezbollah ideology anti-Semitism is. And I don\u2019t mean anti-Israel thinking or anti-Zionism. I mean frank, anti-Semitism. The other thing that\u2019s so interesting about it is how blunt they are and how frank they are about their anti-Semitism. They don\u2019t hide it. They don\u2019t try to mask it in any way. They state very openly to you when you ask their exact feelings about Jews, which are quite extreme. <\/line> <\/line>RUSH: It\u2019s just fascinating, folks. It\u2019s absolutely fascinating, Anderson, it is beyond belief. The anti-Semitism of a militant Islamic terrorist organization. It just blows our mind. Listen to this next one. Cooper says, “Nasrallah himself is very point blank and matter of fact and open about his hatred of Jews.”<\/line><\/p>\n

GOLDBERG: One of the things about Nasrallah that\u2019s so interesting is how straightforward he is. And you see that in all of his statements on Israel and even his statements on America. There\u2019s no attempt to soften the language. And the other thing about it that\u2019s so shocking, I think, when you first hear it, is I always notice this, one of the first things I noticed, was the use of epidemiological metaphors to describe the role of Jews in the world, not just Israel but Jews, talking about Jews as a cancer, talking about Jews as a parasite on society. <\/line> RUSH: Where have these guys been? I\u2019m speechless. I am just speechless. Do you see, ladies and gentlemen, what it is I mean when I talk about the narrow focus, how much reality doesn\u2019t penetrate the boundaries these people wear, or the garb they wear to keep out anything that doesn\u2019t advance the action line? <\/line>I tell you what I think has happened here. So intent and so instilled in the Drive-By media is the notion of Israel\u2019s guilt, Israel\u2019s culpability, Israel\u2019s mean-spiritedness, Israel\u2019s extremism, that somehow the fact that Hezballah is anti-Semitic, somehow that permeated somebody\u2019s armor, their boundaries, and it has shaken them up. Now, you may think something else. I am trying to come up with an explanation for this, but this has to be one of the likely scenarios for this to happen, because just like the Time magazine cover story, “Men and Women Born Different,” these guys are shocked. These guys are shocked and they are stunned at how little it has been reported, as though they just learned it. Memo to Anderson Cooper and Jeffrey Goldberg, I have another scoop for you. You might want to investigate whether the president of Iran and Osama Bin Laden are anti-Semitic. That could be breaking news ?la CBS. <\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s start with cut 13 again. This is last night, CNN, Anderson Cooper 360, he is in northern Israel, along the Lebanon border talking with the New Yorker\u2019s, Jeffrey Goldberg.<\/line>COOPER: I think what\u2019s been lost in a lot of this coverage is just how anti-Semitic Hezbollah is in the rhetoric.<\/line>GOLDBERG: It\u2019s absolutely fascinating, Anderson, the anti-Semitism. There\u2019s two things that are fascinating about it. One is how embedded in the core of Hezbollah ideology anti-Semitism is —<\/line>RUSH: Stop the tape. Stop the tape. I know we just played with this. Stick with me.<\/line>GOLDBERG: — and I don\u2019t mean anti-Israel thinking or anti-Zionism. I mean frank, anti-Semitism. It\u2019s absurd that these guys are shocked and stunned that Hezbollah, a terrorist militant, Islamofascist group would be anti-Semitic and hates Jews? They are stunned, and they\u2019re also stunned that Hezbollah would be so honest about it. If they weren\u2019t so honest, just cut the rhetoric, it would be a little easier to support them. Let\u2019s imagine they are not talking about Hezbollah. Let\u2019s imagine that Anderson Cooper is talking here to Jeffrey Goldberg and Anderson says, “I think what has been lost in a lot of this coverage is how anti-Semitic Hezbollah is in the rhetoric,” and imagine if Anderson Cooper said, “You know what is amazing in all of this coverage, that has been lost in all of this coverage, is how anti-Semitic Mel Gibson is. Did you hear what he said, Jeffrey? Why Mel Gibson asked the sheriff\u2019s deputy, ‘Are you a Jew? The Jews are responsible for every war in the world.'” And imagine Goldberg saying, “You know, it is absolutely fascinating, Anderson, the anti-Semitism of Mel Gibson. There is two things fascinating about it. One is how embedded in the core of Mel Gibson it is and I don\u2019t mean anti-Israel, I mean anti-Semitism. The other thing that is interesting about it how blunt Mel Gibson was and how Frank Mel Gibson is about his anti-Semitism. He doesn\u2019t hide it. He didn\u2019t try to mask it anyway. He stated very openly to anyone, when you ask his exact feelings about Jews.” <\/line>Can you imagine such a open, perplexed, unbelieving, interested in it all conversation were this about what Mel Gibson had to say? This is about Hassan Nasrallah, a terrorist leader. There are more attempts to understand why he is doing what he is doing. His rhetoric, why we are shocked. Stunned. You compare this to the reaction Mel Gibson is getting in the Drive-By Media and you can scratch your head. Let\u2019s go to the next bite. RUSH: Stop tape. Stop tape. Again, imagine if Cooper said, “Mel Gibson himself is very point blank and matter of fact about his hatred of Jews.”<\/line>GOLDBERG: One of the things about Nasrallah that\u2019s so interesting is how straightforward he is. And you see that in all of his statements —<\/line>RUSH: All right. Stop the tape. There is not one call, during these guys conversation for Nasrallah to go to rehab. Not one call for Nasrallah to go meet with Jewish leaders to try to promote healing. There is not one request or demand that Nasrallah get together with the people he hates and try to work it out. Instead, these guys are fascinated by his anti-Semitism and why he is so open about it, and how stunned they are by his rhetoric and so forth but not one word of condemnation, just fascination, fascination with Sheikh nosehair Nasrallah and his anti-Semitism. I think the contrast here is stunning. They don\u2019t make one demand on this guy. They are not outraged by it at all. They are not suggesting that the rest of the terrorist community abandon him. They are not suggesting the rest of the terrorist community prevent him from working ever again. They are not suggesting that the rest of the terrorist community in Iran and Al-Qaeda in Iraq and Bin Laden, wherever he is, and the little Basher Assad in Syria, not demanding that Nasrallah be thrown out of the club. No. They\u2019re almost shocked and stunned in disbelief that he even is anti-Semitic. <\/line>You know what? Nasrallah ought to go get the Passion of the Christ, start playing it for his troops and let CNN and all of the reporters hear about it and they\u2019ll love him even more. I illustrate this only to show you the total — you want to talk about lack of proportion? You want to talk about disproportionate response? Here is a guy who is actively in the middle of launching rockets trying to kill Jews. No outrage. No anger. Just confusion. They are a little perplexed at his anti-Semitism and even more stunned how open he is about it. How more open can you be when you have been kidnapping and killing and attempting to kill Israelis and Jews for how many years now? How much more open can you be? Where is the shock? Where is the surprise? Mel Gibson, an actor, happening to be partying a little too hearty. Speeding. Pulled over. Spewed some epitaphs. Why, you\u2019d think the world was coming to an end. Not defending Gibson, I\u2019m just saying the lack of proportion, not only the proportion of the response and so forth, but a guy that has made his life\u2019s work killing Jews is studied intellectually, academically and interestingly. Why is he this way? Why is he so open about it? In one sense, folks, this is just absurd and it is outrageous. But that is just who the Drive-By Media is.<\/line><\/p>\n
