I do, because I’ve got the sound bites to illustrate it. They’re even taking approval numbers out there on CNN of me. Fine and dandy if they want to treat me like a candidate. It bothers me none at all. Greetings, great to be with you, Rush Limbaugh here from the prestigious Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. Behind the Golden EIB Microphone. The telephone number if you want to be on the program today: 800-282-2882. The e-mail address is Rush@eibnet.com. If you haven’t heard this, I want you to listen to it. You’ve heard about it probably by now but you may not have heard it. Last night at Pasadena City College at a Democratic rally for California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides, the distinguished Senator and former Democratic presidential nominee and candidate John Kerry said this.</line>
KERRY: You know, education, if you make the most of it and you study hard and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you — you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.</line>
RUSH: Now, this has created a firestorm of reaction around the world, particularly amongst families of the troops that are in Iraq. There is so much meaning; there’s so much to analyze from just this one little ten-second bite. It tells us what John Kerry himself and the Democratic Party think about the troops and think about the US military. And for the longest time I’ve spelled that out for you on this program. They routinely have impugned and demeaned the troops. They have said that they’re there in Iraq and they joined the military because they have no future. The American economy is in such sad shape that they have no future. They have no way of getting educated. They can’t make a living, so they have to join the United States military. They have no other choice. They’re not joining the military because they believe in the mission of the military. They’re joining the military as a way to survive — and, of course, this does not fit the profile at all of the US military today. It is all volunteer. </line>
Much of military life is highly technical and requires tremendous education, as I’m sure we could validate with phone calls from military people all day long today if we wanted to. Now, I was discussing yesterday on this program, I put out an Amber Alert for Nancy Pelosi. (interruption) Yes, Mr. Snerdley, what? You had not heard this? You want to hear it again? You guys had not heard it. All right, well, here it is. We’ll be playing it throughout the broadcast today. By the way, Kerry has been asked to apologize by Senator McCain. Kerry has put out a very defiant statement now because there’s such demand for him to clarify his remarks, and in the statement he blames me, ladies and gentlemen. That’s why I opened the program suggesting, I think the Democrats actually are running in this election against me. If you look at the cable outlets, it’s all-Rush-all-the-time, as though I’m a candidate for office. At any rate, here’s Kerry again last night, Pasadena City College.</line>
KERRY: You know, education, if you make the most of it and you study hard and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you — you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.</line>

RUSH: As though you get sent there if you don’t study, if you don’t do well, if you don’t stay in college, somebody, a Republican, George Bush is going to come along and send you to Iraq where you’re going to get killed, where you’re going to die, where you’re going to have a miserable existence. Now, as I was saying, discussed yesterday, where are Nancy Pelosi and Dingy Harry? I’ve seen Dingy Harry. I saw him Friday night in Las Vegas but I haven’t seen him in public on media, on television. It’s the same way with Pelosi. We put out an Amber Alert yesterday for Nancy Pelosi. She is missing. Now, we know why. I ‘splained this to you yesterday. </line>
They got a bunch of conservative Democrats running in House races, and they can’t go out there and undercut them by announcing this full-fledged left-wing socialist agenda that they have in mind. More on that as the program unfolds today. Now, John Kerry, apparently, didn’t get the memo. The point is the Democrats, the liberals are trying to muzzle themselves and shut up. They want their candidates to sound like what Harold Ford is saying: that he’s pro-life, and that he’s a big Christian. They want candidates to hear the conservatism that James Webb is using in his campaign. </line>
They don’t want the Democrats speaking in public, betraying who they really are, and along comes Lurch, along comes old long-faced John Kerry and steps in it again. It is typical of who they are. I’m not surprised. This is not the first time Kerry said something like this. Look at the other things he’s said about the troops, that they are terrorists, that they terrorize Iraqi women and children in their homes at night, disrupting their religious services. This is who the Democrats are, folks. This is what they actually think. This isn’t news. </line>
Liberals and Democrats in this country have long held contempt for the US military. It’s the focus of evil in the modern world. John Kerry was in Vietnam. He knows. He’s made a career of bashing the US military since he got out. We know his story. We know he’s made things up about what he saw and didn’t see in Vietnam, about when he wasn’t in Cambodia, or he said he was. He’s just all over the ballpark. Now, here is Kerry’s statement today. Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House press secretary Tony Snow, assorted right-wing nut jobs, and right-wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record. Here’s the statement:</line>
<i>”If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy. This is the classic GOP playbook. I’m sick and tired of those despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war but love to attack those who did. I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium or doughy Rush Limbaugh who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.”</i></line>

This statement, ladies and gentlemen, goes on. There’s two more paragraphs, but it’s demented. It is sick. I have not “belittled Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease.” I have not “lied” about John Kerry. It is John Kerry who cannot tell the truth about what is going on in Iraq along with the rest of his party and the Drive-By Media. (interruption) What, Mr. Snerdley? They’re having conniption fits in there on the other side of the glass. (laughing) Snerdley has lost it. You better be careful, you’re going to bust a vessel in there. It’s a technical point. In fact, when I got the statement I said, “Wait a minute. I haven’t said anything yet! How does Kerry know what I’m going to say?” He puts me in his statement even before I’ve said anything! It is sort of technical. </line>
“I’m not going to be lectured to by Tony Snow or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease.” So he’s predicting that we’re going to come after him and he’s not going to be lectured to by people like me or Tony Snow or Republicans or these other talk show hosts. But this is who they are, folks. Dick Durbin talking about our interrogators at Club Gitmo, comparing them to people that work for Pol Pot, in the Soviet gulags, the death camps of the Nazis. This is who they are. That is what they think. It’s always been the case, at least in my adult lifetime. This is nothing new. Kerry just slipped up. The Democrats have a standard practice of hiding who they really are. This was a slipup. He felt comfortable with his audience. By the way, he’s suffering another delusion. He’s under the impression he has a legitimate shot to go back and win the 2008 presidential nomination of the Democratic Party, and of course this just probably blows that out of the water. I doubt that he will survive this in another campaign. </line>
BREAK TRANSCRIPT</line>
RUSH: Maybe I’m losing touch or maybe I’m out of it, but Snerdley in there is fit to be tied. He was yelling during the entire break. It looks like you got tears in your eyes now. Snerdley cannot believe it. By the way, I got the audio (everybody did) of John Kerry from our 50,000 watt blowtorch in Los Angeles KFI radio AM 640, John Ziegler, and his show last night had it. There is video of this, and you can see it at YouTube.com. Snerdley, really, I wish I were this mad about it, but for some reason I’m not. </line>
Snerdley said, “Well, let’s compare something here. Last week you said what you said about Michael J. Fox, and within 12 hours it’s all over the world. It’s in Ireland. It’s in China. We’re getting news reports about it from Singapore! They’re distorting the video of you and reporting what you had seen on the Michael J. Fox commercial for Claire McCaskill. A week later, you are still leading newscasts, you are still the focus of newscasts as they attempt to discredit the entire Republican Party by lying about you. Twelve hours since John Kerry has made this statement, and where is it in the Drive-By Media? They’re talking about it, but they’re not showing it, and they’re trying to find Kerry to get him to come on to ‘explain’ himself.” </line>
I don’t know what to say, Snerdley. This is the world we live in, and I’m not comfortable sitting here whining and moaning about this. We’ll just deal with Kerry on the basis of what he said. What they’re doing regarding me is actually quite flattering, in the sense that they regard me as such an obstacle to what they want to accomplish, that of all the people out there they feel the need to have to destroy it’s me.</line>

But look it, I’m not a candidate for anything. I’m not asking for anybody’s vote. I am a radio talk show host. John Kerry is an elected Democrat. He’s in the United States Senate. He votes on such issues as Iraq and national security. He was the Democratic presidential nominee in 2004. He was the candidate. He has just maligned the men and women of the US military; and you can’t just restrict it to those in Iraq, because when you join the military, the odds are you know where you’re going, but maybe not. We have a lot of deployments, a lot of places around the world. You may not end up in Iraq. John Kerry has just denigrated them all. These are the people that volunteer to protect this country, to defend the country, to defend the Constitution. </line>
These are the people that undergo things that 99% of the population will not, and John Kerry sees fit to insult them by suggesting that they are only there because they’re losers. They didn’t accomplish anything in life. They didn’t make the decisions that he thinks are necessary. Gotta go to college, gotta study the right things, and if you don’t do that, you’ll end up in Iraq, you’ll end up in the US military, defending and protecting your country, something he also volunteered to do back in the Vietnam days. Do you really expect, Mr. Snerdley, the media is going to spend time attacking John Kerry? Do you really expect them to? Do you understand the game here? See, I understand the game. </line>
The game is: stay quiet. The Democrats have gone silent. They have taped their mouths. No Pelosi and no Harry Reid and no national Democrat. The Democrats have been spouting all this hate about George W. Bush, all this hate for America, all of this hate for Gitmo, all of this hate for Abu Ghraib, all this hate for the war in Iraq. You haven’t heard a word from them in the last week to ten days, maybe a little longer. There’s a reason for that. They know it doesn’t help win elections. They figure they’ve done enough to rile up their base, their kook fringe hate America first base. They figure they’ve got them in the palm of their hands now. </line>
So if they condition that barrage of hate, that rage, that behavior bordering on the early stages of utter madness, they’re not going to win elections, as I have been telling you left and right. They’re not going to win elections. Nobody wins elections, nobody builds movements on the basis of hate and rage as they have been practicing, let’s just confine it to the last calendar year. That’s why they’ve gone silent. Okay, here comes Lurch and totally blows it with this stupid, insensitive, irrational but typical for him comment about the troops in Iraq. By the way, I think he voted to send them there as well — and now he asks that he be forgiven for that as though he had no role.</line>
I am a talk show host. He is a former candidate for president, Democrat Party. Do you think the media which is in league with the Democratic Party– You can tell by watching it. They’re already having parties at MSNBC. They can’t wait! I’ve got the sound bites. I had them for you yesterday. It’s in the can. It’s just a question of how big the victory is for them. That’s all that they’re looking at. You think they’re going to sabotage their own efforts by making a big deal out of what John Kerry said? I’m sorry, I don’t. I don’t have that expectation. We’ll handle it here, and we will do it here. Look on CNN right now. I don’t know if they’re playing the audio of it. I can’t tell. I’m not listening, but they’re putting the graphic up, the quote of what he said as it’s a “developing story.”</line>

But there’s no sense of outrage about it on the part of the Drive-By Media. Hell, they agree with the same thing! You know what I think would be cool? I think if somebody would go ask Jim Webb in Virginia, “Hey, what do you think of this?” McCain’s out there saying Kerry ought to apologize. Somebody go ask Jim Webb. Ask him what he thinks about this comment. You know, Kerry can sit there and put me in his statement as he did. “I’m not going to be lectured to by Tony Snow, a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece, standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me, just as they have lied about Iraq.”</line>
Yesterday there was a great piece by Amir Taheri in the New York Post, and I saved it from yesterday. It’s all about the failures that the terrorists have had and experienced in Iraq, based on their stated goals, the things that they have not accomplished that they sought to accomplish. The kinds of things that in the old days would end up in news reports from people who claim that they are patriotic, who claim that they want this country to win. They would be chronicling success stories of the US military and they would be chronicling and reporting the failures of the enemy. They don’t get that from the Drive-By Media today, and the expectation that we will get it is na?ve, particularly now, eight days prior to an election. So it is what it is. </line>
These people are who they are, and I’ll tell you right now, there are people in the back rooms of the Democratic Party who are just chomping at the bit to lash into Kerry because he has broken omerta. He has broken silence. This was supposed to be a week, two weeks of nothing like this. No liberalism. No irrationality. None of the usual bilge and drivel that we get from Democrats and have gotten all year. We’re supposed to not get any of it this week. Now John Kerry has come out and betrayed who the Democrats actually are. He has given us a present and done us a favor. The thing to do with this now is to amplify it and to just express to people what it means: This is who the Democrats are, and this is the kind of thinking you’re going to get in power if Republicans don’t turn out, because this election, folks, I’m going to tell you right now what it all boils down to is turnout. Whoever turns out the most voters is going to win this. You can say that it’s that way in every election, but it’s especially true in this one. They’ve done everything they can to suppress Republican turnout, and they’re trying to suppress Republican turnout now with their continued distortions and lies about the Fox flap that I’m having over this stem cell business with Michael J. Fox. </line>
BREAK TRANSCRIPT</line>

RUSH: Here’s a question for you, ladies and gentlemen, a question to consider for Senator Kerry. I have a cousin who attended West Point and ended up as an instructor there. He was in the JAG Corps, and a lawyer. His name is Dan. He lives in St. Louis now. Dan grew up in Illinois, and he got there with the help of a particular Senator in Illinois, and that’s how many of, if not all, of the candidates for the military academies end up there. They are recommended and nominated by various senators. John Kerry has in fact done this himself. John Kerry has nominated various high school students for candidacy at West Point, and yet he comes out and says something like this. </line>
John Kerry, probably his buddies, have also participated in running ROTC off of college campuses all over the country. The idea that these people do not loathe the military and hold it in contempt is laughable. They do, and John Kerry has just portrayed this. Now, Mr. Snerdley, I appreciate your being angry. I really do. I’m not trying to belittle your anger. I appreciate that you have this protective nature, but I want to tell you what’s going to really happen here right at this moment. I will predict to you that the Drive-By Media is practicing and putting together their damage control on this, what they will do, if I’m right, we will soon see reports on whether Kerry has a point. They will go out and they’ll explain what he actually “meant,” what he was “trying to say.”</line>
Katie Couric has been doing this on the evening news, go out and find these poor, bedraggled military families in southern states who have lost family members in Iraq and get them to criticize the effort. They will go out and just as they do when it comes to the evangelical crowd. They’ll do everything they can to find the stupidest looking-people who either are in or have relatives in the military, and they will produce reports on exactly why those people went there: “They had no choice. There were no other educational opportunities. It was too expensive. They couldn’t get a student loan. Their families don’t earn enough money, the economic rebound didn’t help them.” </line>
This is exactly what they’re going to do. They’re going to circle the wagons over this. They’re not going to treat John Kerry the same way they did me. They’re not going to make up what he said. They’re not going to exaggerate what he said. They’re not going to try to repackage what he said, as they have done with me and my comments over the Michael J. Fox ad. They’re going to circle the wagons and try to find a way to prove him right, or at least that he has a point. I hope they do. I really hope they do. This is a get-out-the-vote election. Stop and think of this. I got an e-mail last night from a friend of mine. (Well, I haven’t met him, but he’s an acquaintance.) I have spoken to him several times via e-mail. </line>
This is the guy that worked the control tower at Baghdad International and threw the French refrigerator off the top of the tower because it wasn’t working. Even before Kerry’s comment he sent me a note last night and said, “I’ve been back from Iraq for a little less than a year, and I can’t tell you how livid I am over the way I see this place being reported. There are great things happening over there. We have secured most of the country. We have done a bang-up job, and I said by my tally I’ll bet you there are between now three and 500,000 men and women who have been in uniform and served over there, either are there now or are back and they, too, are watching all this, and they are livid about what they are seeing and they are telling their family and friends what a pack of lies the Drive-By Media is producing every day about the war in Iraq and the progress there.”</line>

His point was that there is outrage. There is probably incalculable outrage amongst uniformed military personnel. Okay, let’s assume he’s right, add the John Kerry comment last night to it and then let the media do what I think they’re going to do, start producing reports that basically try to explain what he actually meant, and they’ll find a poor minority family or as many as they can with troops in Iraq, they’ll trot them out, they’ll exploit them and portray them as victims. They’ll be able to find people to say, “Oh, yeah. My kid’s over there. I wish he hadn’t have gone. He had no choice.” They’ll do this. Snerdley, and the rest of you, I’m just warning you. Get ready for it. </line>
They’ll wait for damage control to see how much damage control there is, if they have to do damage control, that’s what they’ll do. They may choose to ignore it if it doesn’t get big enough to upset the apple cart. But the real apple cart that’s been upset here is this omerta, the code of silence that was supposed to be practiced for the last two weeks of the election: “No liberals. No time. No words. No utterances anywhere, any time.” Liberals, you haven’t seen ’em anywhere, can’t find ’em, and now Kerry has gone out and blown it, and it’s going to be interesting to see how they react to this, but I think I understand them like every square inch of my glorious naked body. Jerry at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Welcome, sir, to the EIB Network. Hello.</line>
CALLER: 82nd Airborne greetings, Professor Limbaugh, from a fourth-time combat educated veteran paratrooper.</line>
RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much for the call.</line>
CALLER: Sir, I wanted to say that every officer in every branch of the military has to have a four-year degree before they can become an officer, and not always from a military academy, every college in our country has people that once they finished their education, they go. What comrade Kerry meant to say is, “Get well-educated, study hard, you’ll be successful. If not, you’ll end up a Democrat.”</line>
RUSH: (Laughing.)</line>
CALLER: I think that’s what he meant.</line>
RUSH: (Laughing.)</line>
CALLER: And your friend over in the tower is so right. With multiple trips to Iraq, I know what’s going on over there, and we are so successful with it. I’d like to get on one of these talking head shows with comrade Kerry and the rest of these clowns and Murtha and have a debate about what’s really going on, because I didn’t spend two weeks on a triple —</line>
RUSH: Well, let me just tell you what Kerry is going to do. He’s going to “clarify.” </line>

“I wasn’t talking about the officer corps. I’m talking about the enlisted men. I’m talking about these people volunteering that are on the ground. I’m talking about the boots on the ground. I’m not talking about the Rumsfelds, and I’m not talking about the generals who are in air-conditioned quarters sending out the orders. I’m talking about the grunts, these guys that had no choice, they had no education, the only way to get an education was to go to Iraq, to get stuck in Iraq and so forth,” but strip it all away. Ladies and gentlemen, it confirms another thing. John Kerry has no interest in winning this. John Kerry nor the Democrats have any interest. </line>
The consequences of this election are important for everybody to consider, and what happens in Iraq is one of those consequences everybody should consider. We’ve got a political party that’s invested in this country’s defeat against this enemy. It’s not easy to say that I think that there is a whole political party that wants the country to lose in Iraq, but I don’t know how else you would characterize their statements and their promises, their cut-and-run tactics, the way they’ve denigrated again the uniformed military man and woman, the way they’ve denigrated interrogators at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. </line>
They have never missed an opportunity to rip their own country and to criticize their own countrymen. CNN relishes the opportunity to give terrorists a “fair shake” by showing a propaganda piece of video that terrorists put together. They wouldn’t dare show US video of successful missions because it would be distributed from the Army. “We can’t do that!” They would consider that propaganda. So how do you conclude otherwise, how do you conclude that they are in favor of US victory? Show me some evidence. Show me some evidence where they have hope, they have a desire that we win. Show me some evidence; give me some stories on TV that you’ve seen of heroism and valor on the ground in Iraq or Afghanistan. </line>
I want to see them. I don’t recall any. I think part and parcel of their wanting the country to lose the war in Iraq, you can’t separate from it the idea that they hope to prove to themselves they have the power to win an election on that basis, which is what their stance is all about. But I want to make this one point before we go to the break. I want to go back not too long, month, you can go back six months if you want, as far back as you need to, but the Democrats were convinced, were they not, that the country hated George Bush and they hated the war in Iraq, and they wanted out, and that was the basis on which they nominated Ned Lament in Connecticut. That was the basis on which they told Joe Lieberman to go to hell. </line>
“You gotta be anti-war! We hate the war! The war is unpopular! The American people hate this war. The American people want no part of this war, and by God, we’re going to make sure that we get out of there because that’s what the American people want!” Fine and dandy; where is that in this campaign? Harold Ford talking about it? Is Claire McCaskill talking about it? Is Jim Webb talking about it? In fact, Ned Lament’s having to go in and start talking about cultural issues now and other domestic issues. Now, if the people of this country so hate the Iraq war and so desperately want out of there, regardless the cost, regardless what pulling out would mean, if that’s what the American people want, where are the Democrats campaigning on that? They’re trying to nationalize these elections. Where are they campaigning on that, and why are they so upset? Why is there so much panic over what John Kerry has said? Why are the leaders of the Democratic Party not leading on the one issue they think is their biggest winner? </line>
BREAK TRANSCRIPT</line>

RUSH: Seattle next, Bill, thank you for waiting, sir, and welcome to the EIB Network.</line>
CALLER: Hey, Rush. Dittos from a proud member of a Rush family who saw no options in college and begrudgingly went into the Marine Corps.</line>
RUSH: Thank you, sir, for the call.</line>
CALLER: Hey, most people, you know, when I heard you come out with this this morning, most people would be really surprised at the arrogance of Lurch and making this comment. But I’ll tell you it doesn’t surprise me a bit because I remember when I was in my undergrad studies in college, as a finance major getting done I decided I wanted to go into the Marine Corps. I used to get the same response, not only from fellow peers, but I remember one instance in particular from a finance professor who couldn’t believe that I didn’t want to go into the business world right away. And I think for people like that such as Kerry, they can’t comprehend that someone would actually go into the military other than for some other reason besides running for office. And I think that his arrogance is disgusting but yet at the same time I think it’s very typical, and, like you said over the months and years, they’ve always been afraid to come out and say who they are, and I think this is exactly what he’s doing. He’s coming out and he’s explaining exactly how he feels, and his disdain for the military, and I understand that he was in the military because we all know he served in Vietnam, but —</line>
RUSH: You nailed it. He went into the military to use the experience to launch himself into another career, and his behavior while there is testament to the fact. He didn’t join the US military in hopes of winning that conflict. He came back and helped to undermine it, by the way, one of the loud voices trying to undermine the whole Vietnam effort. John Kerry is — I’m sorry, what were you going to say?</line>
CALLER: I was just going to say, to add to this as well, I think a lot of people don’t realize, and I remember when I spent my time in I had some, by far, some of the most intelligent, diverse, interesting group of people that I — or should say Marines that I — was in charge of, who had master’s degrees, who came from very wealthy families, poor families, east coast, west coast, central United States, far more diverse than anything I ever experienced in college, that I ever experience today in the business world —</line>
RUSH: Or in the US Senate, or in the United States Congress or in your average United States bureaucracy. You are again right on the money. You’ve hit the bull’s-eye, as it were. John Kerry is a despicable human being. He knows exactly what he is doing. He is telling us exactly who he is. My friends, I’ll tell you something else. When you watch the media — and I continue to get e-mails from those of you out there who are outraged over the continuing coverage. I don’t even know how to characterize it. It’s just so distorted and full of lies and misrepresentations. They’re telling us who they are more than they are describing me. </line>
I know that some of you are worried that people who don’t listen to this program are getting a distorted view of who I am and so forth and wondering what I can do to change this and to stop it. I have my own philosophy about dealing with things like this, and that’s not to let the other people set the agenda and force me into a defensive mode. I’m just going to be who I am day in and day out, and that’s enough for me, but they are telling us who they are. John Kerry just told us who he is yet again, not for the first time. John Kerry holds contempt for the US military. He has no respect for the people who join it. He has no respect for the job they do or the mission. </line>

It is in his statements where he tries to cover his tracks that he expresses that, and then has to do it in the process of tearing other people down, such as those who “haven’t served” or those who are in “stuffed suits behind podiums” at the White House or however he characterizes people. But John Kerry is a small mind, folks. We’re dealing with a genuine — they’re large minded people, President Bush is one, who sees beyond today in Iraq. John Kerry’s one of these guys, “We gotta get out of there! Things are falling apart,” without concern for the consequences. Most of the Democrats are very small-minded on this. Kerry is peanut-brained on it. He’s not a big person. He’s not a big-minded individual. He’s small change. He is chump change and knows it, and is one of the things that bothers him terribly, and he’s always trying to grow beyond it, and he just can’t pull it off. Here’s Brian in Dayton, Ohio. Welcome to the program, Brian. It’s nice to have you with us.</line>
CALLER: Thanks, Rush, for taking my call. I have to say that being on hold is entertainment in and of itself on some of those things that I heard. I just had to pull over and I was stewing because I’ve got two nephews that are in the military, one graduated from the Air Force Academy and the other from West Point — and, you know, just insulted those two for what they want to do and what they had to do to even get in the academy and let alone graduate with honors like they both did, and they’re both currently in Iraq right now, and they just volunteered and signed back up for their third tour.</line>
RUSH: Yep.</line>
CALLER: There’s so many positive things that they talk about over there that you never see. You know, and that’s the frustrating thing. They come back and they’re like it’s not as bad as what you see. You know, they’re like asking us, “Don’t watch television. Don’t watch the news. We’ll tell you how it is,” and, you know, they’ve shown us things and told us stories about things that have happened over there that you would never hear about here.</line>
RUSH: Yeah, we keep hearing this. This is something that is what it is, and it’s not going to change, because it’s being used to effect the outcome of the elections coming up next week. I’m short on time here. I don’t mean to be rude. I’ve gotta go pretty soon, but I think the experiences of your nephews, and all the others that have been there and been back, and they see the same things, there’s a huge silent bloc of military personnel outraged at what they’re seeing from not just the media, the Democratic Party, and now John Kerry has thrown kerosene on that burning emotional rage that they have. So it’ll have an impact on the election, you wait and see. </line>
END TRANSCRIPT</line>

*Note: Links to content outside RushLimbaugh.com usually become inactive over time.

<paragraph/>

RUSH: Do you get the impression that the Democratic Party is running against me in this entire election?
