RUSH ARCHIVE: There was no way that this establishment was going to permit an outsider to come in and clean house and show how Washington can work and blow their cover for the last how many decades. They were not gonna make this easy for Trump. It has never been about Trump unifying the Republican Party in order to beat the Democrats, and that\u2019s been the mistake. That\u2019s not the fight here. The fight is not Republican versus Democrat. The fight is Donald Trump and his cadre and you, the Trump base, versus the Washington establishment. It has always been that and nothing more. We\u2019re in the midst of a silent coup. These people are trying to take this president out, and everybody understands that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I said everybody understands it, but I\u2019m glad they focused on it. You know, I\u2019m glad that the words just didn\u2019t vanish out there into the ether, \u2019cause most everybody else is portraying this as Trump failing to unify the Republicans, or the Republicans failing to unify with Trump. Trump versus the Republicans is not the fight.<\/p>\n
Look, when Trump\u2019s up there talking to \u2019em today, I mean, he\u2019s got \u2019em up there having lunch, and I know how it\u2019s gonna go. I mean, he\u2019s gonna pitch them on party unity and he\u2019s gonna pitch them on doing this for voters. He\u2019s gonna pitch them on 2018. He\u2019s gonna pitch \u2019em on all this stuff. But he also needs to pitch them as, “You know, you need to decide where your loyalty is gonna be, to the establishment or to the people that elect you. That\u2019s what they need to start considering.” And, by the way, it\u2019s not every Republican senator, but it\u2019s a majority of them. Steve Doocy next up with reaction.<\/p>\n

DOOCY: People need to understand, any Republican who votes against the motion to proceed — and Mitch McConnell\u2019s gonna hold it next week, probably on Tuesday — is voting to keep the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare as it is, because this is the end of the road.<\/p>\n
AINSLEY EARHARDT: The Democrats are laughing now, but they\u2019re gonna need the Republicans later.<\/p>\n
KILMEADE: Democrats should laugh for about four seconds because they\u2019re gonna turn around and realize they\u2019re responsible for the monstrosity that\u2019s sitting behind them called Obamacare that caused them to lose literally a thousand elections, from the local, to the governorships, to the House, to the Senate.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s a large reason why. It\u2019s not a total reason, but it\u2019s one of the reasons why they\u2019ve lost 1,200 seats. Obama by himself is another reason. That\u2019s another thing they\u2019ll never admit. But Obama himself was one of the major reasons Democrats kept losing elections, outside of the ones Obama was in.<\/p>\n
What they\u2019re talking about there, and Trump alluded to it yesterday, “Look, we\u2019re gonna let it implode. I mean, if we can\u2019t repeal this thing and if nobody is gonna join us in trying to fix it, we\u2019re just gonna let it implode.” And the Democrats immediately, immediately came out from behind whatever it is they\u2019re hiding and claimed that it was irresponsible of Trump to do this. And I found that so delicious and ironic because it\u2019s the Democrats\u2019 baby. They loved Obamacare. They kept telling us how wonderful it was.<\/p>\n
They forced it on this country. They forced Obamacare on the people of this country who did not want it. And now that it\u2019s imploding and its costs are out of sight and its premiums and deductibles are so high that people who do have insurance, in many cases can\u2019t afford to even use it. They won\u2019t join in an effort to fix it, but let Trump say, “You know what? We\u2019re just gonna let it implode.” And they come out of the woodwork and talk about how inhumane and inconsiderate that is and how it\u2019s gonna hurt. People are being hurt now, is the point. People are in dire straits and consequences right now because of Obamacare.<\/p>\n
And the caterwauling the Democrats are doing is all I need to hear to tell me that they understand it will be their problem and not Trump\u2019s if it is allowed to implode. If it doesn\u2019t get repealed, and if it doesn\u2019t get replaced, if it doesn\u2019t get fixed, you know, Trump\u2019s out there saying, “I\u2019m not gonna own this.” And the Democrats are saying, “Oh, yes, you will, you\u2019re the guy that\u2019s gonna be responsible for it imploding.”<\/p>\n
No, you guys are. The fact that they are desperate for somebody to fix this speaks volumes about the truth of this. I think they\u2019re terribly worried that it is going to redound negatively to them, if that is indeed what ends up happening, just allowed to implode.<\/p>\n

See, don\u2019t forget, folks, this is the design. It is designed to not work and it\u2019s designed to not work inside of 10 years. Obama laid this all out in a speech to the SEIU in 2007. He told that union audience that there\u2019s no way we could get single payer done in one piece of legislation. The American people aren\u2019t ready for it. The American people aren\u2019t ready for Big Government socialism. We gotta creep it in on \u2019em. And he laid out, it\u2019s gonna take 10 to 15 years. And that\u2019s what Obamacare is.<\/p>\n
The design is working exactly as planned. The difference is that they expected a Democrat to be in the White House at the moment of implosion, at which time it would have been easy to make a call for single payer to save the health care system of America that the insurance companies broke. Tell you what the story was gonna be. Tell you what the narrative was gonna be. The Republicans and the insurance companies and their greed is why Obamacare didn\u2019t work, but that\u2019s okay, because we Democrats care about you, we got a solution. Single payer, everybody on Medicaid, everybody on Medicare, whatever it is, that\u2019s the plan.<\/p>\n
