RUSH: Good news here, folks. The Supreme Court has decided to take the case of Mark Janus, an Illinois state employee who objected to mandatory union fees. In his state, 35,000 government employees are represented by various unions.<\/p>\n
In early 2016, a similar case (brought by a California schoolteacher) was brought before the court when Justice Scalia died. The court split 4-4, leaving the issue unresolved.<\/p>\n
It was widely believed that the full Court with nine justices would have ruled against the state unions. Which would have been a huge blow to liberals, loosening their stranglehold on the 22 states without \u201cright-to-work\u201d laws.<\/p>\n
Now, don\u2019t think for a minute the left doesn\u2019t know what\u2019s at stake. The four largest government unions \u2013-the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, the Service Employees International Union, and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees —
\nthey\u2019re on high alert. They\u2019re calling the case a \u201cwell-funded plot\u201d to use the Supreme Court to \u201cfurther rig the economic rules against everyday working people.\u201d<\/p>\n

This case is about giving \u201ceveryday working people\u201d the right to opt out of a rigged system that benefits Democrats. Government employees are forced to hand over hard-earned money to unions, which then funnel the money to the Democrats.<\/p>\n
