CALLER: 24\/7 di-ttos<\/emphasize>, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you. He\u2019s a website subscriber<\/a>, for those of you in Rio Linda.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m viewing it right now. My question. Last election season, you put forth the theory that the Democrat Party is preparing themselves and the nation for circumstances in which they\u2019d never lose another election.<\/p>\n

RUSH. Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s something I believe, and if you\u2019ve read the Shadow Party by David Horowitz and listened to you, I usually believe that. But more recently, as a matter of fact today, you have indicated that they\u2019re preparing themselves for a rather large embarrassment and\/or election defeat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right, but they don\u2019t know that. I\u2019m not sure they\u2019re doing it on purpose.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s contradictory.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s not. Well, it appears<\/emphasize> contradictory, and I am thus glad that you called to let me explain this. Prior to the election, I was telling people, ‘Folks, this election counts. It matters. Don\u2019t sit it out, or don\u2019t vote against Republicans simply because you want to teach them a lesson because when the Democrats win, the first thing they\u2019re going to do is see to it that what happened in 1994 never happens again. They\u2019re going to get the House back and they\u2019re going to do whatever they can to see to it that it never, ever is controlled by the Republicans. That\u2019s what they\u2019re going to do: consolidate their power. Then when they get the White House in \u201908 they\u2019re going to do everything they can to see to it that they never lose that, although that\u2019s a little bit more problematic, but they know that they controlled the House for 40 years, and they have been wandering aimlessly in the desert since 1995, and they are not going to go through it again.\u2019 That\u2019s what their objective was. <\/p>\n

Now, they won, and that\u2019s what they\u2019re setting about doing, they think. I haven\u2019t changed my opinion. They think that they are doing — by first shoring up their base, which is the far left wing anti-war crowd in this country. That\u2019s what they\u2019re doing with all this. They think that they are setting the stage and doing step one or two now in order to secure lifetime, perpetual control of Congress by their party. What they are doing is going so far overboard, off the cliff, over the edge with their arrogance and condescension, that they constantly misread the election results. People who lie to themselves about what they are will lie to themselves about anything, and they have lied to themselves about why they won the election. They think they won the election. The Republicans made the same mistake in 1994, by the way. The Republicans assumed the country had gone conservative. The Democrats are assuming the country\u2019s gone back to majority liberal and that they\u2019re election is a triumph of their return to liberal dominance. <\/p>\n

So the mask is off somewhat. The camouflage is not as thick, and so they feel more comfortable and free than ever before to go out and be who they really are. So there\u2019s Pelosi over talking to Bashar Assad, and here they are trying to secure defeat, and they think this is what they were elected to do. They have told themselves this so much and so often, they believe their own lies, or they believe their own mistakes, or errors. In the process, they\u2019re going to go overboard and shoot too far. I don\u2019t change either side of what I said. They are in the process of trying to consolidate a perpetual control of Washington DC, electoral control over the House of Representatives. But they\u2019re going to blow it because they are not — the current wing of the Democratic Party that is reflected in the leadership of both the House and the Senate is not — a reflection of the United States of America and a majority of people in the population. It just isn\u2019t. There is no way it can be. The country\u2019s ideological identity does not shift on a dime like this, just as it didn\u2019t in 1994 when the Republicans won the House. It didn\u2019t mean the country had gone conservative, and the Republicans\u2019 big mistake then was they stopped teaching. They stopped saying the things that got them elected. They assumed everybody already understood it, and so, ‘Bam, bam, pedal to the metal, here we go.\u2019 They\u2019re going to overstep. They always do, because they are not people who have a majority of things in common with a majority of Americans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
