RUSH: I\u2019ve gotten a lot of e-mails from people who are just livid at Nancy Pelosi — and we talked about this yesterday in great detail. One of the things that they\u2019re upset about is here is this woman who has made the big case for women\u2019s rights, women\u2019s equality and so forth, going over to these countries like Syria and other places, wearing the hajib, the burqa, whatever it is, and people are righteously indignant about it, and they\u2019re probably justified. Let\u2019s go back to earlier this year, January 4th on the floor of the House. Here is just a portion of Pelosi\u2019s remarks as speaker.<\/p>\n

PELOSI: We have waited over 200 years, never losing faith. We waited through the many years of struggle to achieve our rights. But women weren\u2019t just waiting. Women were working. Never losing faith, we worked to redeem the promise of America, that all men and women<\/emphasize> are created equal. (Applause.)<\/p>\n

RUSH: (applauding) Yay! Yay!<\/p>\n

PELOSI: Our daughters and our granddaughters, today we have broken the marble ceiling.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, okay, well, the marble ceiling\u2019s been broken but Pelosi goes over to the Middle East and rebuilds it. The queen bee, after kissing the ring of Bashar Assad, declares that he, the dictator, is ready to engage in peace negotiations with Israel. She spoke to the press yesterday, after she met with Assad.<\/p>\n

PELOSI: Peace in the Middle East is a high priority for the American people and indeed the people of this region and in the world. Uh, we were very pleased with the reassurances we received from the president that he was ready to resume the peace process. He is ready to engage in negotiations with peace [sic] with Israel.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And she\u2019s over there wearing the burqa, she\u2019s doing all this for women\u2019s rights, but now she claims that Assad is ready to talk with the Israelis. He\u2019s ready for peace with the Israelis. Yes, she is that stupid. Snerdley said, ‘Is she that stupid?\u2019 This is a tough thing to say. This can be misinterpreted a lot of ways. Well, there\u2019s a way of saying somebody is stupid. For example, instead of somebody telling somebody that they have holes in their head you can tell them they have ‘an open mind.\u2019 There\u2019s a way, if you call somebody stupid and people don\u2019t buy it. I just I don\u2019t think that she is blessed with a tremendous IQ. I don\u2019t think this is the brightest bulb, incandescent or compact fluorescent in the socket. I don\u2019t think that the elevator goes all the way to the top. She is an order of French fries short of a Happy Meal. <\/p>\n

There are any number of ways that you can say this. I really do think that…she\u2019s stupid. There. You happy? Why…? (interruption) Now, Snerdley\u2019s question, I\u2019m sure, is, ‘Why is anybody going to believe her?\u2019 Folks, we talked about this yesterday. I can\u2019t explain it, but people will. People will! Why is anybody going to believe it? Because Bush isn\u2019t talking to Assad and Pelosi did. Do you understand these people have been taught conflict resolution? They think if you reach out to your enemies, you can convince them you\u2019re not a bad person and everything can be hunky-dory. There are a lot of people who think that not talking to bad guys only widens the gap. A lot of people think that having conflict and standoff with people, doesn\u2019t get you anywhere, and they think that sitting down and talking, even if it means surrendering.<\/p>\n

Look at all the people that love ‘compromise,\u2019 and look at how they define it and so forth. Frankly, to be honest, I don\u2019t know how many people are going to give a rat\u2019s rear end about this anyway. Let\u2019s talk a month from now and we\u2019ll see how many people actually think that something serious happened here. She doesn\u2019t have the ability to negotiate for the United States. She doesn\u2019t have the ability to negotiate for the Israelis. All she can do is go over there and puff up her own r&eacute;sum&eacute;, and say whatever she wants in a press conference. We haven\u2019t heard Assad say this. Assad hasn\u2019t come out and said he\u2019s ready to negotiate with Israel. She\u2019s saying so — and Assad\u2019s probably sitting there saying, ‘Boy, I love this. We\u2019ve got the biggest dupe in the world that\u2019s shown up over here to see me. She\u2019s out there saying all these great things about me, and nothing has to change.\u2019 He\u2019s not going to have to prove anything here. I understand how maddening and frustrating it is. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now let\u2019s go to the phones. This is Betty in Waseca, Minnesota. I\u2019m glad you waited, Betty. Thanks for the call.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, are you there?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, I\u2019m here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, okay. Yes, I tuned in on you just as you were mentioning Pelosi, and in a burqa.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, a burqa, hijab, whatever it is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. It made me furious.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve been studying the Middle East culture, but that burqa stands for submission and, you can\u2019t know how angry I was. That\u2019s why I called.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But wait, but wait, but wait! That\u2019s their ‘culture,\u2019 and Pelosi was simply respecting their ‘culture.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: I understand that, but she\u2019s also a representative of our country.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s not the right answer. It\u2019s a good answer, not the right answer. They don\u2019t respect our culture. They come here and want to change our culture into theirs. They\u2019re not respecting the UK culture. The UK can\u2019t teach the Holocaust<\/a> now because it might offend Muslim who don\u2019t believe it happened — and, by the way, can I tell you what that\u2019s about, folks? One of my 35 Undeniable Truths of Life is: ‘Ours is a world governed by the aggressive use of force.\u2019 You don\u2019t think force, the threat of force or violence is present in the UK decision not to teach the Holocaust? What are they afraid of if they offend the Muslims? They\u2019re afraid they\u2019re going to riot. They\u2019re afraid they\u2019re going to do something. The use of force governs our world. It always has, and it always will. As to Pelosi kowtowing to their culture, notice how eager we are to do that. But that\u2019s because we\u2019re the majority and they\u2019re the minority. We can\u2019t offend them. We can\u2019t offend anybody. We can\u2019t discriminate. We allow them to come here, or anybody else, and ignore our culture and customs, including our language if they want to. Your turn.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. No, I understand totally what you\u2019re talking about culture, and I respect other cultures. But when she\u2019s representing our country and our country with women that are free over here to dress however you want, I don\u2019t care. She was to go and represent us as America. She can\u2019t be dressed in a good business suit, you know, and dressed like a neat woman, and the whole thing, because, like I said, I\u2019ve been studying the culture. That burqa stands for ‘submissive,\u2019 and that\u2019s what it is.<\/p>\n
