RUSH: Randy in Wichita, welcome to the EIB Network, sir, hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: How you doing, Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good, sir. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, you will remember me back in 1989. I was the chairman of military affairs for the chamber, and myself and Ms. Beall drove you out to McConnell Air Force Base put on you a B-1 bomber so you could turn on the lights and honk the horn.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you mean I won\u2019t remember that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I said you will<\/emphasize> remember that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, yes, yes, yes. It was B-1s, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You had a bunch of B-1s on the tarmac and there was going to be some sort of test, a scramble test the next day on Sunday, and I got to go into one on Saturday.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You were the driver? You took me out there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I was the president of military affairs at that time for the chamber, and I was the guy that drove the car, you sat right next to me. We had a wonderful conversation going out there and coming back, and I enjoyed it wholeheartedly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That was Beall Air Force Base, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That was McConnell.<\/p>\n

RUSH: McConnell, I\u2019m sorry. McConnell Air Force Base.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ll never forget the sight of all those B-1s out there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Awesome. (Laughing.)<\/p>\n

RUSH: It was awesome. That\u2019s what inspired the Diet for Peace, because they let me go up in one.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah. You know, I had dreams. Remember this is 1989, and —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. It was a long time ago.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — the Berlin Wall had not fallen yet.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We were still in the midst of the Cold War.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That was exactly right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And Gorbachev, and we\u2019ve had Gorbasms and everything — and I had dreams of being in flight suit hearing the scramble signal to get in the cockpit, take off, and head to Moscow when the bombs loaded — and I was looking at the cockpit of the B-1, and I was a little too big to slide right in that thing easily so that\u2019s what inspired the Diet for Peace back then.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s exactly right. Those were the days, but the purpose I\u2019m calling you today, obviously I still keep up with the military and strategies and politics and so forth, and I say this with a grain of salt, but it has some seriousness to it as well, and that is I hope Iran does get a nuclear bomb, and I hope they use it. Now, let me tell you why. Now, I don\u2019t want millions and zillions of people to perish, but I don\u2019t think the United States is going to wake up unless they do. This path that we are on is a dead-end valley. It\u2019s like flying blind into a valley, and if you look at the history of how much more passive that we get as time goes on, I don\u2019t think we\u2019re going to wake up until that event actually happens.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I want to pose an opposite thought for you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Or to you. Now, granted it wasn\u2019t a nuke. But 9\/11 happened in 2001, and that was a mere six years ago.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm<\/emphasize>.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And it woke America up for about a month.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And now, most Americans, ah, they\u2019re trying to forget it, and they\u2019re allowed to forget it because it doesn\u2019t matter. I, seriously, think you\u2019re probably right. There\u2019s a part of me that thinks that if the Iranians or anybody else used a nuke somewhere, that there would be a cacophony of shouting and noise in this country blaming us<\/emphasize> for it, saying, ‘We\u2019ve got to meet with these people and come up with peace,\u2019 but they wouldn\u2019t want us to retaliate. The retaliation? Look you have forgotten, but after 9\/11, the first thing I remember is all these leftists groups sprouting up and saying, ‘We better not retaliate! We better not retaliate. We better not escalate this,\u2019 and they would do so even if a nuke were lit off. Now, you\u2019re talking about a nuke on our soil?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I think a nuke anywhere, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m with you. Yeah, go ahead.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If they nuked somewhere not here, pfft! I really wonder about the American public, the majority, the majority of the American public\u2019s will here. I think most people would say, ‘I didn\u2019t see that. Oh, I didn\u2019t see that. Oh, God, that\u2019s — that\u2019s horrible! Let\u2019s hope it doesn\u2019t happen again,\u2019 and try to find some way of making sure the Iranians don\u2019t light off another one.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, they only have a few options. I know a couple of places that they would actually detonate one.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If we have a Democrat in the White House when it happens? Ha-ha-ha!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, you\u2019re exactly right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Your theory is all wet. We can drown it in the kerosene.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s exactly right. Either it would be Israel or the United States, and if it\u2019s United States. Again, I would hope that we would never, ever, ever come to that kind of situation.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, you just said you hope we do get hit.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Wait, wait, wait. I\u2019m saying I hope that it never comes to that situation, but I don\u2019t know what else it would take to wake up the people and the politicians of the United States so that we know exactly what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The only thing that would wake up the United States is if they nuked one of Oprah\u2019s homes, that would infuriate them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) Well, if they killed a polar bear by accident, that might wake them up.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re not going to waste a nuke on a polar bear. They\u2019re not going to do that. If they nuke someone like Oprah\u2019s house or Leonardo DiCaprio or something, the American people would get plenty tied. They might even get upset if they nuke Paris Hilton\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, absolutely. Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Maybe not on that. I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Point well taken. I should have thought of that.<\/p>\n
