RUSH: Jackie Speier, Democrat, California, had a press conference today along with Lois Frankel to demand a congressional investigation into Trump.<\/p>\n
During the Q&A, Jackie Speier talked about the reasons behind the call for an investigation.<\/p>\n
SPEIER: As you\u2019re all aware, House Rule Ten gives the Congress of the United States, and particularly the House of Representatives, the authority to investigate anything at any time. And it is under that House rule that we are calling on the Government Oversight Committee to do the investigation. But what took place this morning when the president tweeted about our colleague, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, is grotesque. It took my breath away. And it represents the conduct of a person who is ill equipped to be the president of the United States.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, come on. Nobody believes you! Except your other insane leftists. Come on. Is Kirsten Gillibrand really made up of the flimsiest balsa wood that she can\u2019t even handle a strong gust of wind? This is what our first caller was talking about. Why do you want us to believe that Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is so helpless and so frightened and so fragile and can\u2019t handle the president saying something about her? For crying out loud!<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s Trump\u2019s tweet. Now, Gillibrand had tweeted something about Trump. I mean, he didn\u2019t start it. She starts something, so he responds. “Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office ‘begging\u2019 for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!”<\/p>\n
Now, what Jackie Speier and the rest of these babes are upset about is Trump saying that Kirsten Gillibrand would do anything for campaign contributions. They are saying that Trump is intimating that Kirsten Gillibrand would offer herself sexually to Trump for money, and they are outraged and they are offended and they are unbelieving how this could possibly stand!<\/p>\n
Now, let me ask you a question. And, by the way, Gillibrand responded: “You cannot silence me or the millions of women who have gotten off the sidelines to speak out about the unfitness and shame you have brought to the Oval Office.” Now, if Trump had tweeted, “Chuck Schumer came to my office and he would do anything for campaign contributions,” what would people think Trump meant? Would somebody have thought he meant a Lewinsky? Well, that\u2019s what they thought when he was talking about Kirsten Gillibrand.<\/p>\n

They think Trump was intimating that she would offer Trump a Lewinsky if he would have donated to her cause. It\u2019s in their minds, exactly. Not in Trump\u2019s! It\u2019s in their minds. They\u2019re the ones that have the putrid, perverted thoughts in their minds. It\u2019s not in Trump\u2019s! They don\u2019t know what Trump\u2019s thinking. Do anything. Could be anything. But they zero in on that it is a Lewinsky.<\/p>\n
What would they have thought if Trump said, “Chuck Schumer would do anything for campaign contributtions”? Would they have thought something sexual about that? What would men do to get money that\u2019s not sexual? Pass laws favoring the contributor? Remove a regulation, grease a wheel, get an invite to the White House? Could be anything. And that could have been what Trump meant. She would have done anything for this.<\/p>\n
But look at what these women zero in on. These women zero in on the fact that Trump was suggesting that Gillibrand would drop to her knees and do a Lewinsky. Didn\u2019t Mitt Romney say that Trump would drop to his knee for — (interruption) Oh, that Mitt would drop to his knees for a campaign donation. Trump said that Mitt would do that, drop to his knees. But they weren\u2019t outraged about that.<\/p>\n
So now here is Kirsten Gillibrand with Christiane Amanpour sitting in for whoever on CNN International, says, “This is an unprecedented time in American politics. The world is gripped by this saga. Here it now takes aim squarely at Trump and this whole #MeToo movement gains momentum. Should the White House be worried, Senator?”<\/p>\n
GILLIBRAND: President Trump should resign. These allegations are credible. They are numerous. I\u2019ve heard these women\u2019s testimony, and many of them are heartbreaking, and President Trump should resign his position. Whether he will ever hold himself accountable is something you really can\u2019t hold your breath for, and so Congress should have hearings. They should do their investigation. They should have appropriate investigations of his behavior and hold him accountable. This is a very powerful moment in America\u2019s history, and not only —<\/p>\n
