CNN, I think they monitor this program all the time. And when they hear something they think they can put to good use for their agenda, they do it. And, of course, they like playing sound bites from this program \u2019cause it\u2019s a good show and they like getting intelligent sound bites of the stuff they disagree with so they can have their brain-dead analysts analyze it. And that\u2019s what happened here. John King. This is from, actually, yesterday\u2019s show, my comments about Trump not firing the special counsel, Robert Mueller.<\/p>\n
KING: Let\u2019s listen quickly to Rush Limbaugh, who makes the point: Mr. President, you know, we\u2019ve done a pretty good job undermining confidence in Mueller.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hold it a second! Hold it a second! Wait a second! What did he say there? He said, “Let\u2019s listen quickly to Rush Limbaugh, who makes the point: Mr. President, you know, we\u2019ve done a pretty good job undermining confidence in Mueller.” He thinks that I\u2019m saying what I said yesterday as a message to Trump? Holy smokes! I missed that reading the transcript. This is incredible. So John King is alleging that I am signaling Trump not to fire Mueller because I\u2019ve already done a good job of destroying Mueller! So I\u2019m urging Trump not to make the mistake of firing him! Good grief! Okay. You got it cued from the top? Here it goes, again. Sound bite 24.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: If Trump believes the public opinion polls — and Mueller\u2019s not doing well in these public opinion polls — this investigation is not polling well. … If Trump believes that whatever this investigation produces that 45, 48% of the American people are not gonna believe it, why tamper with that?<\/p>\n
KING: That\u2019s a misconception I would say there between a political conversation about what might happen and if the special counsel comes forward with… He already has two indictments and two plea deals.<\/p>\n
RUSH: What?<\/p>\n
KING: If he comes forward with more specifics — in a court of law, not a court of political spin — that changes everything.<\/p>\n
RUSH: This is insane. I can\u2019t believe this line of thinking! First off, I haven\u2019t spoken to Trump since March 23rd. Trump does not listen to the radio. Trump has no idea what I\u2019m doing or what I\u2019m saying or where I\u2019m going or any of that. And yet these people think that I am sending Trump a message here, “Don\u2019t fire Mueller because I, Mr. Trump, have been doing your dirty work and I\u2019ve ginned up enough opposition to Mueller that you don\u2019t need to worry about it.” How in the world…? What kind of existence creates that timeline or thought process?<\/p>\n
“Here\u2019s Rush Limbaugh making the point: Mr. President, you know, we\u2019ve done a pretty good job undermining confidence in Mueller.” I didn\u2019t address anything I said to Trump! As always, I\u2019m telling you that. I was saying, “I don\u2019t think Trump\u2019s going to fire Mueller.” I wasn\u2019t saying, “Mr. President, don\u2019t do it, don\u2019t do it!” I was saying I don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to. I don\u2019t have the foggiest idea what he\u2019s gonna do. I\u2019m just pointing out that if 50% of the people think Mueller\u2019s investigation is bogus, don\u2019t tamper with it.<\/p>\n
They think that I\u2019m subliminally talking to Trump or directly talking to Trump trying to make sure he doesn\u2019t make a mistake, and then at the end of this: “That\u2019s a misconception I would say there between a political conversation about what might happen and if the special counsel comes forward with… He already has two indictments and two plea deals.” John, the indictments and plea deals he has have nothing to do with collusion! The Manafort stuff happened before the campaign. Mueller doesn\u2019t have anything!<\/p>\n

And these guys know it and they\u2019re frustrated and they\u2019re desperately waiting and they\u2019re hoping. Like I always say, they get up every damn day hoping that day is gonna be the day that the silver bullet is found, the one that nails Trump and gets rid of him. That day! They\u2019re sitting around desperately hoping. They get up, they go to bed dreaming of it; they wake up with a nightmare that it didn\u2019t happen. Well, anyway, we\u2019re not through with this, because after that they then turned over to somebody named MJ Lee. John King tosses to MJ Lee, who is the national political correspondent, who said this…<\/p>\n
LEE: The fact that the president has somehow convinced himself that he\u2019s going to be exonerated in some official way…<\/p>\n
KING: Muh.<\/p>\n

LEE: You know, not to put him on the couch too much, but I do think it\u2019s just this perfect telling example of how he is so able to build this fortress around him and believe exactly what he wants to believe. You know, there\u2019s no clear indication that the Mueller investigation is slowing down or nearing an end. In fact, it is clearly deepening; it is broadening in scope. But the president is choosing to believe that he\u2019s going to be exonerated sometime soon. And I think his advisers and his allies have every reason to be concerned about that.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Where, where is it said that Trump thinks he\u2019s gonna be exonerated soon? Well, there was a rumor that Mueller is preparing to write a letter that exonerates Trump, but I haven\u2019t seen where Trump thinks it. Have you? (interruption) Oh, it\u2019s a Drive-By story that says Trump is already thinking he\u2019s exonerated, and that I\u2019m helping to brainwash Trump. That\u2019s what this MJ Lee means. “Well, the fact that the president somehow convinced himself he\u2019s gonna be exonerated…”<\/p>\n
These people! You clowns are the ones that don\u2019t have any evidence! Good God. It\u2019s been over a year, lying sources, made-up sources, blind sources, anonymous sources, not a shred of evidence yet. And yet they live in this hope and dream that there\u2019s gonna be that silver bullet, that evidence, that one smoking gun that\u2019s just gonna nail everything. And you\u2019d think, after looking for it for a year, do they not understand that all this has been made up? The Trump dossier (which they\u2019re all buying into believing) was made up!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here is Rodney, Port St. Lucie in Florida. Hi, Rodney. How are you doing?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hey, Rush. I\u2019m doing great. Thank you, and thank you for the comments before because you led me perfectly into what I wanted to talk about because there\u2019s been something that\u2019s been totally bugging me about this whole Mueller investigation. So I have a question for you, Rush. How long have we been hearing from insider sources, unnamed sources, anonymous sources, et cetera, that Trump was gonna fire Mueller? Pretty much since day one, right?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well —<\/p>\n
CALLER: And how long has Trump, people inside the Trump White House been saying that\u2019s not true, that\u2019s not true, don\u2019t have any intentions of firing him.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It did. It started pretty soon over — originally it was, “Can Trump fire Mueller?” That was how they started it, “Can Trump do it?” and then they had a panel discussion on whether or not he could do it. Then it did metamorphose into, “Yes, he can.” And now in the last week it\u2019s, “He\u2019s gonna do it.” The Democrat Jackie Speier went out there, “He\u2019s gonna fire Mueller on Friday.”<\/p>\n
CALLER: No actually, Rush, I think what\u2019s been happening from what I\u2019ve been reading is now they\u2019re daring him too.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, yeah. I\u2019m saying that\u2019s what they\u2019re saying. I don\u2019t think Mueller is gonna be fired.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No. I don\u2019t, either. This is when I think the lightbulb went on for me. So now it\u2019s going from he\u2019s gonna fire him to, “He better not fire him. He better not fire him. We\u2019re gonna take to the streets.” So here\u2019s what my thinking is. I can\u2019t get to the endgame. What is the endgame? And so because nothing has come out of this whole witch hunt to implicate Trump, the only people that are gonna be implicated seems to be the FBI, the Department of Justice, establishment, the deep state, Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign, so why in the world would Trump want to stop it?<\/p>\n

I would think the person that wants to keep it going is Trump. And that\u2019s when the lightbulb went on for me. So here\u2019s my theory, and I want to know what you think about it. I think that all these talking heads are basically goading Trump, they\u2019re just daring him, \u2019cause they know that Trump likes to poke his finger in their eye. They know that he likes to drive them crazy, so I think they\u2019re hoping that he does because they know there\u2019s nothing there on collusion, except for on their side. So then if that happens, then I believe that they think that they can change the whole narrative of the investigation from one of collusion to obstruction.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, they\u2019ve already done that. That\u2019s what getting Flynn is. They\u2019ve already gone to obstruction. There\u2019s nothing on collusion. Now, if they want Trump to fire Mueller — and I\u2019ve read, by the way, from learned conservative hyper, super intellectuals who think that Mueller himself is trying to bait Trump into firing him so that the Mueller committee can then say, “Yep, Trump\u2019s colluding, fired Comey first, now firing me, he\u2019s obviously got something to hide, even though we can\u2019t find it.”<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve heard that theory being bandied about. But I\u2019m gonna tell you, reverse psychology doesn\u2019t work on Trump. Flattery does. You send Jackie Speier out over the weekend, “Trump I\u2019ve had heard is gonna fire Mueller on Friday,” he won\u2019t do it just to prove her wrong. He would not do it because it would make her right. But Trump came out on Monday and said, “I\u2019m not firing Mueller.”<\/p>\n
That\u2019s when I said — you know, I was reacting to Trump, not sending him a super-secret message, John King. When Trump he said he wasn\u2019t gonna fire Mueller, I said, “Why should he. Forty-five, 48% of the American people don\u2019t trust the Mueller investigation anyway.” By the way, the investigation has not turned up any dirt on the FBI. We have. The inspector general has found the dirt on the FBI. But the Mueller investigation hasn\u2019t exposed any of its own dirt. This investigation is not looking into Mueller\u2019s team and how they\u2019re screwing up. We just have found out that they are.<\/p>\n
This investigation is what it has always been: Put together a case that the Democrats can use to impeach Trump if they win the House next year. That\u2019s what this investigation is. There isn\u2019t any collusion. And even if they found some, it\u2019s all gonna go into it “to be impeached” file. That\u2019s all this is. That\u2019s how it started. That\u2019s how it continues.<\/p>\n
The idea that Trump is gonna fire Mueller is something they cooked up. That begets discussions on cable news, “Can Trump, should Trump?” I have no doubt they would love for him to because that they think would make their case that Trump\u2019s obstructing them. But I just don\u2019t see it. But who knows? You know, at this point I don\u2019t know whose counsel weighs the most with Trump.<\/p>\n
But I can\u2019t imagine people closest to him urging him to fire Mueller, just based on this stuff. This stuff, we\u2019re already learning, there\u2019s still more to learn, the IG full report\u2019s gonna be coming soon.
