RUSH: Patrick in Buffalo, you\u2019re next on the EIB Network.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I need some help from a brilliant mind, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019ve happened to call the right place.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m trying to find out how I should deal with the education system here in New York.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh.<\/p>\n

CALLER: When they schedule a field trip to a mosque for sixth grade children under the guise of diversity and broader understanding. They gave us a two-day notice on this field trip. You get the notice on June 4th for a June 6th field trip so that we didn\u2019t react.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait. The field trip was yesterday then?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. It already happened. But I\u2019m just trying to figure out, you know, because they want to do this every year. I\u2019m just like, ‘I can\u2019t believe this is happening here. What happened to the separation of church and state?\u2019 In our school, you\u2019re not allowed to have Christmas, Easter, or Halloween acknowledged at all in the school.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is absurd. They\u2019d never do a field trip to a Catholic church.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, this is to a mosque and to the Hindu center. And we do have Muslim children there. I\u2019d like to know when they\u2019re going to the church. I don\u2019t understand how you\u2019re supposed to deal with this. They have all this, ‘Well, you know, we need to be diverse. There\u2019s so many Catholics so we don\u2019t need to worry about going to church because you already know what that\u2019s like.\u2019 That doesn\u2019t even make sense. <\/p>\n

RUSH: How old is your child?<\/p>\n

CALLER: He\u2019s in sixth grade. That\u2019s 12 years old.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Twelve years old. Did he tell you what went on there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no, he didn\u2019t go. I wasn\u2019t allowing him to go to that. I absolutely thought that was wrong.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, oh, oh, oh, I misunderstood. I thought he did go, and you didn\u2019t find out early enough to stop it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, that\u2019s what they tried to do. The school tried to give you a two-day notice that there\u2019s a field trip. That never happens, either, by the way. All parents get a two-week, usually three-week notice on a field trip. This one was rifled through on purpose. We looked at the sign-off sheet; it was dated April 20th, so this was scheduled April 20th. And then on June 4th they give us notice, just so we didn\u2019t say anything. This was all so intentional and very frustrating as a parent, because to me this is an indoctrination of your children.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, this is a huge, huge problem. How many other parents did not let their kids go?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It got on the radio here. I haven\u2019t got a count yet. They just went back to school today. So we\u2019re trying to figure that out. But there was one woman that went that talked about this, and she said she went in there, and they said they weren\u2019t going to do anything in the mosque. They actually asked the girls to wear head scarves, by the way. The leader in the Muslim community was reading from the Koran to the children in the mosque on this field trip. And again, if that happened in a church to the Muslim child, the ACLU would be here so fast, and here on this side, we\u2019ve got nothing. I\u2019m asking for your brilliant input because what can you do here? I\u2019m absolutely floored. This is in Hillary\u2019s great land, by the way, of New York.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, let me take a break here because if we keep going I\u2019m going to miss it, and I\u2019ve got a couple segments left and one will be real short if I don\u2019t, so can you hang on?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sure.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, we\u2019ll be back and continue this. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We go back to Patrick in Buffalo, New York. Are you afraid that this is going to become a regular field trip every year?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. There\u2019s two ways of going about this. The first one you may not like, but it\u2019s just a suggestion. And that is, next time let your kid go. You are his parent, and you have the ability to teach him critical thinking.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know your fears —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t really have a fear. It\u2019s not a fear of this. I\u2019m just upset at the one-sidedness, the double standard created.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s the other thing. The thing you have to work out with the school is, ‘Look, if you\u2019re going to do this, then you have to take these kids –‘ it\u2019s like showing the stupid Gore movie. If you\u2019re going to do this, and parents have succeeded in this, getting it stopped, if you\u2019re going to do this, you\u2019ve gotta show the other side, because it\u2019s a political issue, it\u2019s not science, and don\u2019t try to tell us it is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: In this case you\u2019ve got all the arguments on your side and you named them. I rarely say this but I don\u2019t need me on this because you\u2019ve already got it figured out. This is like a separation of church and state issue. You can\u2019t talk Christmas. You can\u2019t tell the Christmas story, Christmas decorations, all these things, nativity scene, can\u2019t put \u2019em up in public. Now all of a sudden the school has chosen a religion.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, they have.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The reason they\u2019ve done this, this is just a wild guess, in the first place, they\u2019re libs.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm. We know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So to them, to prevent another attack, just listen to the way they talk about dealing with our national security. We gotta be nicer to these people; we have to show them we mean them no harm. We have to show them that we don\u2019t think of them as so many Americans have portrayed them to be. We have to show them we do accept that they are the, quote, unquote, ‘religion of peace.\u2019 I think you\u2019ve just got a little fear working here. There could be something more to it than that, too, could be —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I get a little upset. You gotta remember, I\u2019m very close to Lackawanna 12. They\u2019re up the road from us here, you know. Are we supposed to forget about that too?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019ve gotta remember, too, there are people in this country who are trying to destroy the traditions and institutions that made it great.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well they\u2019ve done a good job here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re going to rebuild it in their own image. They look at these poor people as victims. You have to understand that, and I think showing Gore\u2019s movie and taking this field trip to the mosque are born of the same confused, perverted thought process they have.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, it absolutely is.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And that is that America is the problem.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. I totally agree with you. I just, you know, as a parent, you just get so frustrated. It\u2019s like, ‘I don\u2019t care if you\u2019re teaching this, just be fair and teach it all and teach Christianity. If you\u2019re going to do that, teach Christianity,\u2019 and they don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But see, that\u2019s the leverage you\u2019ve got to stop this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You have more power than you think here, especially if you get together with the special interest group, Alliance Defense Fund, it\u2019s AllianceDefenseFund.org. Look \u2019em up on their website. Get somebody like this or take your pick of any of these people to carry the water for you and with you, to demand that if the school is going to do this, that they can\u2019t selectively choose where they\u2019re going to send kids on religious field trips.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Yeah, that\u2019s what I wanted to know, because I don\u2019t ever want to see this again. They danced around this one; they got caught. They only gave us a day to respond. <\/p>\n

RUSH: You see, right there, they\u2019re admitting that they know that this is not going to fly with a lot of people, and they know that it\u2019s controversial.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And they\u2019re fully aware why, but they still want to do it, so there\u2019s an agenda in this, and that\u2019s the thing that boils —<\/p>\n

CALLER: They openly said it. They said, ‘We need to understand them better.\u2019 How about, ‘They need to understand us?\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. Exactly. They need to know that we don\u2019t hate them. They need to know that we don\u2019t intend to harm them. They need to know blah, blah, blah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019re the ones that were minding our own business on 9\/11.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, we were, and like I said I\u2019m up the street from Lackawanna 12, so it\u2019s a constant reminder here for us that it\u2019s pretty close to home for us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, it\u2019s New York state, it\u2019s Buffalo, but it\u2019s still New York state.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, get a hold of other parents who feel the same as you do. Find a group like the Alliance Defense Fund or some other that you can join with to go talk to the people that run this school and make these decisions.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because the one thing you know is, they\u2019re not going to start scheduling field trips to Jewish temples, Synagogues. They\u2019re not going to go to Catholic churches. They\u2019re not going to do that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They said they couldn\u2019t schedule a church even though there was one within walking distance of the school.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They said they couldn\u2019t schedule a church?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, they actually said they couldn\u2019t find the time to schedule a church.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Meaning the church wouldn\u2019t open its doors for a school field trip? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I thought that was a little odd. No armed guards there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s a little tough to believe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It was way tough to believe. That\u2019s why this became very frustrating for me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: When this kind of stuff happens, I mean you are a parent, and you have not surrendered your child\u2019s mind to the school.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But at the same time, what I said to you at first, it\u2019s very important — your son is 12 years old?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s nothing wrong with teaching critical thinking, and schools are not doing that. They\u2019re more into indoctrinating.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So the more somebody is exposed, the more critical thinking about it that can be informed. If you start denying your kid the chance to see this, he\u2019s going to just become more curious about it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I let him listen to all the controversy over it, and he got well informed by listening to this for the last two days all over the news and that, so he\u2019s very well informed at what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m glad you called. I\u2019ve run out of time here. I\u2019m glad you called me about this. Keep us posted on what happens.<\/p>\n
