It’s an accelerated case of liberalism. It’s all of it at once.

RUSH: And adding pained this is the fact that Republicans are helping push it along.

CALLER: Exactly. We’re stabbing ourselves. Like you say, it’s the end of the Republican Party bill or something.

RUSH: It’s the Comprehensive Destroy the Republican Party Act of 2007.

CALLER: It’s got all the ingredients: ‘Ignore the laws that exist. We gotta make another one because that law didn’t work. People are just victims,’ you know? ‘The big guy is beating up the little guy. Whites against the tan-colored skin people,’ or whatever.

RUSH: Racism, yes. Racism. Plus, don’t forget this. The real reason the Democrats want this — I keep saying this, and I know this sounds harsh to some people, but — is liberal Democrats don’t like many of the traditions and institutions, the guardrails, the fences, that have made this country great. They want to tear down and rebuild the country in their image, and here you go. One of the things they believe in is a huge government and they want people dependent. They want low-skilled, uneducated, cheap labor in the country, because that’s their next class of victims. As affluence in this country continues to increase — and it is. I think one of the best kept secrets in the country right now is the strength of the economy and the overall affluence and prosperity and the opportunity to achieve it. It’s never been better than it is today in this country. So more and more people are opting out of the total dependence cycle. I mean, it’s impossible almost not to with Social Security. Fifty-one or 52 of the American people get a government check for something, but they’re always out pushing. The food stamp program, they’re advertising for more people to participate in that. Here you import these people that remain constantly dependent. They will need access to the safety hammock — not the welfare net, but the hammock — and that’s made to order for raising taxes and redistributing wealth. You’re right. Everything that liberalism is, is contained in this legislation. It’s sort of like a big, concentrated dose. That’s what’s so frustrating about it, to see the Republicans just dive headlong into this as though they haven’t the slightest clue what will happen to them and their party and the country, which is what we’re concerned about. Anyway, here’s Matt in southern California (formerly Mexico). It’s nice to have you, sir.

CALLER: Thank you for having me, Rush.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: Long-time listener, first-time caller. I had to comment on one point that’s always being made by President Bush as well as a number of others who are in support of the so-called comprehensive immigration reform, and that is the point that, well, individuals come from the south are’doing jobs that Americans won’t do,’ and I think that for the most part everyone really should take that as both offensive and racist in nature because basically in my view I think it’s inferring that the type of work that those people are doing is basically beneath those who are relatively affluent or who are white because, ‘Well, you know, we can’t do that work. It has to be done by someone who has brown skin.’

RUSH: No. It’s a crock anyway.

CALLER: It is a crock. Absolutely.

RUSH: What they’re saying is that those jobs are beneath us. Certain Americans wouldn’t deign to go into the fields and pick —

CALLER: Exactly.

RUSH: — apples and grapes, and of course you can put the lie to the notion that couple of interesting numbers. Twenty-six percent of the employees in the agriculture business are illegal. That means that 74% are legal, are Americans. So the idea that they’re doing jobs Americans won’t do is up in a puff of smoke.

CALLER: Yeah. It’s insulting, too, in many respects. I’d like to make one other comment real quick because I wanted to make this point. Now I think is probably one of the best times for the Republicans to garner favor with the black caucus potentially. The reason I mention that is because they are probably not going to be very happy with the Democrats promoting basically slave labor wages and those individuals coming in and basically working and suppressing wages.

RUSH: See, that’s another dirty little secret because that’s going to happen if this passes. Let’s speak hypothetically. I know what you’re saying. If this bill were to be signed tomorrow and all of a sudden these 12 million, 20 million illegals are legal, the next thing that’s going to happen is John Sweeney and his boys from the unions are going to be in there and they’re going to trying to unionize as many of these places and people as possible, start collecting dues from them, get their wages up, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, which is going to create the need for more illegals. The dirty little secret is, to all of this, that the authors of this legislation and the supporters of this legislation have no plan to stop the inflow of low-skilled, uneducated people in the workforce. They are telling us that the future of our country and the future of our economy requires a certain percentage of the people who live here be uneducated and have very few skills, and therefore will work for very low wages. Like I keep saying, ‘If that’s the primary ingredient to a great, burgeoning, robust economy, Mexico would be running circles around us.’

END TRANSCRIPT

*Note: Links to content outside RushLimbaugh.com usually become inactive over time.

RUSH: Mike in Fenton, Michigan, welcome to the EIB Network.
