CALLER: Hello there, Rush. Mega dittos. My question, Nancy Pelosi is bringing a DREAMer into her box for the State of the Union. Who do you think Trump should put in his box to counteract that?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Could you run that by me again? You\u2019re asking about Pelosi and DREAMer. What was the question about her and the DREAMer?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, she\u2019s inviting a DREAMer into her box for the State of the Union speech. Who should the president put in his box?<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh. I have heard that they\u2019re gonna — you know, that reminds me of something you have just inspired. These DREAMers, just to show you what the left is, what are these DREAMers, the activist DREAMers, doing? They\u2019re running around agitating, protesting. They\u2019re doing things that are not gonna inspire people to want to let \u2019em in!<\/p>\n

You know, if I were one of these DREAMers, you know what I\u2019d be doing? I\u2019d be praising this country: “This is the greatest country on earth. I love America. I have dreamed of coming to America. I have not dreamed of being in Nancy Pelosi\u2019s box, whether it\u2019s at the State of the Union or home. But I have dreamed of becoming an American. I have dreamed of this. I\u2019m on the cusp of it. I would do anything to become an American citizen.”<\/p>\n
But no. These DREAMers are out there running down America, running down Trump, talking about America\u2019s racist, sexist, you know, the usual bromides. What another total political miscalculation. And now showing in the house chamber, I\u2019m told a bunch of them are gonna protest. How does that help their cause? But this is what the left is. It\u2019s a collection of victim groups with endless grievances that they want to just make hay on blaming America for. I don\u2019t see how that helps them.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I want to play you a sound bite of me, a theory that I posited on Friday that served as one of the things<\/a> the Drive-Bys bounced off of on the Sunday shows. This is the clip…<\/p>\n RUSH ARCHIVE: [H]ere\u2019s an alternative theory, based on the fact that I don\u2019t think Trump\u2019s caved. … Have you noticed the Democrats are rejecting this? … Donald Trump, or somebody in there, knew that this deal would be rejected. I believe it is possible that this whole deal… You might call it a trick. You might call it a grand strategy. But I think it was offered knowing that the Democrats would reject this \u2014 after which, what happens? Trump can say, \u201cHey, I offered it. I\u2019m trying to meet \u2019em halfway. We\u2019re trying to do something for the kids, and once again it\u2019s the Democrats who say they\u2019re not interested! It\u2019s the Democrats who are walking away. It\u2019s the Democrats who cannot accept this seemingly generous offer from the president of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, this story is like three-days old. This story was published on the 26th. So this is pre-my theory. “U.S. President Trump said Friday he was willing to shift his stance on immigration to push through a deal that protects illegal immigrants brought to the country…” (crumples up paper) What am I doing three-day-old stuff? That makes my point that this proposal, “Hey, I can do amnesty for the DREAMers.” He put it out; he wants the Democrats to reject this. He wants to look like the man of compromise.<\/p>\n He wants to look like the guy that has compassion for the DREAMers, and the Democrats are the ones rejecting it, and that has happened. And like I said, the DREAMers themselves… Imagine this. This continues to amaze me. We have a group of people that everybody thinks the number\u2019s 700,000 or 800,000. It isn\u2019t. It\u2019s 3.6 million. The \u201986 amnesty bill, Simpson-Mazzoli, was 2.6 million illegals were granted amnesty, and just with the DREAMers and the related chains, we\u2019re up to 3.6 or 3.8 million that would be granted amnesty, ultimately, if this were to happen.<\/p>\n The Democrats have rejected it! The DREAMers… Imagine this. We have this political activist group, the DREAMers. Now we\u2019re told they\u2019re just a bunch of children, a bunch of kids — and what are they doing? Well, they say that they\u2019re gonna be in the House chamber tomorrow night in the State of the Union and they\u2019re gonna be protesting Trump. Trump\u2019s the one that offered an amnesty for some of them. But they\u2019re otherwise, in addition to being in the House chamber, whether they are or not, they\u2019re out there agitating. They\u2019re doing the exact opposite of what you would think that they would do.<\/p>\n If they want citizenship, if they want amnesty, what\u2019s so hard about publicly talking about how much you love America, how eager you are to be a citizen? You\u2019re called a DREAMer; why don\u2019t you say your dream is to become an American citizen? You longed for it, you imagined it, you dreamed about it, you love America.<\/p>\n They think they\u2019re gonna win the House in \u201918, even though I don\u2019t see any other evidence of it besides polling data. They think they\u2019re gonna win the House in 2018. So why should they accept anything less than what they want now? So I think part of this is to anger Trump and other Republicans into not offering any amnesty because they need the Republicans to be seen as the enemy.<\/p>\n They need the Republicans to be seen as heartless, as having no compassion, being bigots and racists and all the usual things. So they\u2019re angry and they are expressing it and it is counterproductive to what they are claiming that they actually want.<\/p>\n Now, Breitbart had a story yesterday. Marc Short, bald headed guy — did you know this guy\u2019s a Never Trump leader? Marc Short was a leader of the Never Trumpers, I\u2019m pretty sure. But he\u2019s now Trump\u2019s liaison to Congress. <\/a>RUSH: And Trump has confirmed this, by the way. Trump has said that he proposed amnesty because he knew the Democrats would reject it. It\u2019s exactly what I posited. Now, there\u2019s some people who, despite that, are very nervous that Trump even proposed it, and I completely understand that. “What if the Democrats had accepted it?” I mean, they clearly weren\u2019t going to, but there\u2019s always that one or 5% chance that they might have. So we have a couple of stories here, Reuters: “Trump says Republicans will accept citizenship for DREAMers.”<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/FB-002-012918-Dreamers.jpg\")
But they\u2019re not going about it that way. They\u2019re going about it by agitating and protesting right out of the playbook of the Democrat Party and the American left. And, as such, they are not succeeding in drumming up public support for their cause. If I didn\u2019t know better, I would think they almost want no deal to be offered. I think that the Democrat Party wants this issue as an election issue. That\u2019s why they rejected them, among many other reasons.<\/p>\n

Now, the Democrats\u2019 ultimate goal is to legalize all 3.6 million illegal alien, quote, unquote, children and their parents. And they\u2019re not gonna settle for any deal that will settle for any less than this. This is why Trump voters get nervous. Who is this guy and why is the White House anxious to deliver big amnesty to Democrats.
