CALLER: Hey, Rush, how you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: First-time caller long-time listener.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Nice to have with us today sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Remember the Rush lunches way back then when you were really cutting into the Clinton administration? Where restaurants would have the lunchrooms?<\/p>\n

RUSH: The Rush rooms! You\u2019re talking about the Rush rooms?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, remember thaose years ago?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I do, of course, yes. There\u2019s still some out there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Are there now? I don\u2019t know. I used to really enjoy listening to you. Unfortunately, I don\u2019t think you\u2019re holding this administration to the same level you held the Clinton administration.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Imagine, just imagine the last six years. Change the name of the administration from Bush to Clinton, what would you want to be doing to the president?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ummmm, well, giving the exact circumstances?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Uh-huh, the exact circumstances.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Nothing.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, you wouldn\u2019t? Huh huh. Rush, tell me the truth, man (unintelligible).<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, see, you\u2019re framing the question wrong. If Clinton were president now, there wouldn\u2019t be tax cuts; there wouldn\u2019t be a roaring economy, and we wouldn\u2019t be in Iraq! So your question is irrelevant.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Are you proud…?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You can play these what-if games but I\u2019m not going to sit here and defend myself. My job is not to be ‘equally hard —<\/p>\n

CALLER: It should be!<\/p>\n

RUSH: — on administrations.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It should be. If you\u2019re true independent, you should be.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m not. I\u2019ve never said that I\u2019m independent. I believe —<\/p>\n

CALLER: You should be holding each administration —<\/p>\n

RUSH: — in a cause —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — to the same level.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and I\u2019m trying to advance it. By the way, you should call this administration and ask them if they think I\u2019m one of their pals right now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You are!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Illegal immigration bill?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, and I agree with you on that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s the one time I really agreed with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, well, then, see?<\/p>\n

CALLER: But you\u2019re proud to be in Iraq?<\/p>\n

RUSH: What?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Are you proud to be in Iraq?<\/p>\n

RUSH: So, your policy in Iraq differs from mine and you think I\u2019m wrong about it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I\u2019m ask you Rush, let me ask you the question.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ask it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: How does the military win in Iraq? You\u2019ve got a country of twenty-six million people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Doing what they\u2019re doing! You force the Al-Qaeda group that\u2019s in there from outside the country, back out.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Al-Qaeda is fighting a whirlwind compared to the problems they\u2019ve got with the Sunnis and the Shi\u2019a. Do you know that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, one more question.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s not. See, this is your great misunderstanding. Have you been listening since the beginning of the program?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, that\u2019s why I actually called. Those two ladies that called in, the one on CSPAN.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because I\u2019ll tell you, the fact is, if you want to win this —<\/p>\n

CALLER: What do you do? What do you think?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You drive Al-Qaeda out of it. You drive Al-Qaeda out of it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Al-Qaeda has nothing to do with it!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, it does.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They\u2019re just a little toenail.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s the whole point! You didn\u2019t hear the beginning of the program. It\u2019s the whole point. It\u2019s not a sectarian war.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It is!<\/p>\n

RUSH: It is not!<\/p>\n

CALLER: How can you say it\u2019s not?<\/p>\n

RUSH: It is not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, this is worthless. This is not worth my time anymore. I covered this in the very opening segment of the show. We captured a bad guy. Listen to me on this, Joe. We captured a bad guy. He\u2019s telling us everything. He\u2019s the leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, we thought. It turns out Al-Qaeda in Iraq is a fictitious group, started by Zawahiri and the real Al-Qaeda to make it look like there\u2019s a civil war there! There isn\u2019t a civil war. Saying it\u2019s a civil war is what gives people like you cover for saying you can\u2019t win it militarily, Sunnis and the Shi\u2019a and they hate each other and blah, blah, and the Kurds and all that. Drive Al-Qaeda out of there, and we win militarily. Drive Al-Qaeda out of there, and we got a better chance of shoring up security within the nation and get the political thing going. It\u2019s entirely doable. It\u2019s entirely possible. But not with attitudes like yours. By the way, John Kerry is a liar, too. Who\u2019s next on this program? (interruption) This is my Type A personality? (sigh) Okay, if the way I\u2019m behaving now is Type A, I\u2019m Type A. (sigh) I\u2019m going to have to look up Type A because I think I\u2019ve got some Type B characteristics! I can sight in my library for five hours with the door shut and not talk to a soul.
