CALLER: Hi. Thanks, Rush. It\u2019s an honor to speak to you, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I am a little nervous, though. I haven\u2019t been able to listen to you as much recently. I\u2019ve been listening to you since \u201992.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I love hearing you talk about yourself. You are such an inspiration to me. I use you as an example to my boys. I love hearing everything. I love when you talk about your trips, your home, your life, and I fear today you might not do that anymore? I\u2019m shaking. What\u2019s going on?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I really got a lot of grief yesterday, Diane, from a couple of people who said I was getting rude, and one guy said that I\u2019ve really changed in the last month, all I do is talk about myself, I\u2019m too self-absorbed. I asked him for examples. He said, ‘Well, golf and Hawaii and cigars.\u2019 I just started talking about those things this month? I\u2019ve been talking about those things for years. <\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: People say I am unresponsive to criticism, and that I do not listen to the critics and I should because the critics are just trying to be helpful.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So I figured I\u2019m gonna come in here today with a new policy of being less self-absorbed, which means talking less about myself.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. You can\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well…<\/p>\n

CALLER: Please. What will we do? How will we learn?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know, but…<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019re such inspiration to many of us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate that. That\u2019s very kind. Well, I\u2019ll take your suggestion under advisement.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think you should. And is it true you\u2019re coming to Philadelphia?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh. Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, did I say something I shouldn\u2019t have said?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s too late now. We can\u2019t go back on the airwaves and pull it outta there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I haven\u2019t been listening, and I just heard it this morning, and I was panicking. I was like, ‘I must have heard that wrong.\u2019 I didn\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think it\u2019s October the 11th.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Well, I\u2019m going to look into that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It will be fun.<\/p>\n
