{"id":269821,"date":"2018-04-04T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-04T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/admin.rushlimbaugh.com\/?p=269821"},"modified":"2018-04-05T16:02:14","modified_gmt":"2018-04-05T20:02:14","slug":"rush-24-7-morning-update-california-nation-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/daily\/2018\/04\/04\/rush-24-7-morning-update-california-nation-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Rush 24\/7 Morning Update: California Nation-State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: The state of California recently enacted a law demanding the federal government give them first dibs on any federal land up for sale.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the latest battlefield in the war between California and the Trump administration. This week, the DOJ filed suit against California, arguing the state law is unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-241581\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/00-Rush-Morning-Update-2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"199\" height=\"137\">Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a statement. He said, \u201cThe Constitution empowers the federal government \u2013 not state legislatures \u2013 to decide when and how federal lands are sold.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sessions reminded everybody that when California was admitted into the United Sates, it was under certain conditions. Including, that California, quote, \u201cwould never interfere with the disposal of federal law.\u201d Sessions said that despite California agreeing to those terms, their legislature \u201chas enacted an extreme state law attempting to frustrate federal\u201d law.<\/p>\n<p>California isn\u2019t just trying to \u201cfrustrate\u201d federal policy, here. California is openly disobeying federal immigration law, and punishing people who comply with it. The mayor of Oakland warns illegal immigrants of impending raids, allowing dangerous criminals to avoid arrest. California openly flouts federal drug laws. The state is threatening to sue if the Trump administration overturns Obama\u2019s fuel-emissions standards.<\/p>\n<p>Liberal Democrats are in open rebellion against the federal government. They behave as if they are a separate nation-state.
