RUSH: This is Billy, Fort Worth, Texas, you\u2019re first. Nice to have you on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, how you doing, Mr. Limbaugh?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine. Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, first of all I want to say, I know you really think you are bringing America together, but really I think you\u2019re separating America. You know, America is polarized because we split right down the middle. I\u2019m 57 years old and I\u2019ve never seen America more segregated, well, not segregated — separated — in my 57 years.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know why?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know you — I know you think —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m going to tell you why. This country was forever poisoned when the Clintons arrived in Washington in 1993. That is when this partisan poison began. You want to tell me that Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon were not subject and targeted for total destruction by liberal Democrats? I don\u2019t know how old you are, but —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m 57 years old. Listen, I don\u2019t think —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, then you\u2019re old enough —<\/p>\n

CALLER: (unintelligible rambling)<\/p>\n

RUSH: You gotta slow down out there so that I can understand your words because of my hearing problem, Billy. Just slow down a little bit. But what did you call me — I\u2019m segregating the country because of partnership?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s what you\u2019re doing. Look at it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And, instead, I should be reaching out, trying to bring America together?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. I really believe so. I\u2019m going to ask you a question: Can you define conservatives and liberals? Define those two words.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I\u2019ll define conservative and liberal for you here in just a second.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Define \u2019em for me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ll define \u2019em both for you, but the first thing I want to tell you, I am attempting to unite the country, by telling the country the truth.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The truth you believe is true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no —<\/p>\n

CALLER: What you believe, sir, is not true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not the truth I believe. The truth. I don\u2019t want to be wrong. You think I want to sit here and base unity and people agreeing with me on lies? That\u2019s the last thing I want to do, that won\u2019t hold up. I am based in total truth. I want the country to know the truth about Mrs. Clinton and who they are. Now, definition, conservative and liberal. There are many ways to attack this, Billy. Let me try this. I\u2019ll try two different ways. Liberals want to control everybody\u2019s lives so that they live as liberals want them to live. They don\u2019t want them to smoke; they don\u2019t want them to drive certain cars; they don\u2019t want them to eat certain foods; they don\u2019t want them to live certain places. It\u2019s about total control with the government having the last word on what anybody can eat, drink, say, or do. Liberals also hold most people in contempt, Billy. They have done everything they can to keep as many people from reaching individual prosperity as possible. They want people dependent so they\u2019ll continue to vote for Democrats. <\/p>\n

Conservatives look at individuals and see the opportunity for greatness in each and every one of them. If we get out of their way, we believe in the ability of people to overcome the obstacles in life. We want them educated so they can triumph over this, so they can understand achievement, they can understand pride, they can understand the concept of meeting and surpassing expectations. We want a great country. We don\u2019t want a country full of wusses and wimps who could be much better than they are because they have been told they have no chance and they have been told to depend on Democrats and government. That is not the recipe for a great country. It\u2019s, basically, boil it down to control versus liberty. I\u2019m for liberty. Liberals are for control. I don\u2019t want them controlling my life, and you shouldn\u2019t want them controlling yours, although it sounds like they already do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
