RUSH: This is Nathan. Nathan\u2019s in Sacramento, my adopted hometown. How are things with you, Nathan?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, they\u2019re great. It\u2019s an honor to speak you. It really is.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve been listening to you for a very long time, and it\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve ever even attempted to call in. But the fact that you took my call is just — you made my day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much. I\u2019m glad you made it through.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ll get right to the point and I\u2019ll make it really simple. A couple things. The fact that Trump came out last week and said he wanted to pull out troops from Syria, the backlash he got on the right and on the left. Then all of a sudden it\u2019s, “Well, we gotta do it in a strategic way.” And then just yesterday or the day before, the chemical attacks. I want your take. Does this look like something I guess that each day or another aspect of America is doing to keep our troops in place? Because now Russia\u2019s stating it\u2019s fake news, it didn\u2019t happen. And if Obama said it did exactly what he said —<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: Wait a minute. Now, wait. There\u2019s a lot here in your question to deal with. Let\u2019s deal with the last thing you said, the Russians are saying the attack never happened. Well, if Washington is to be consistent, then we have to assume the attack did happen, because the Russians have become our dire enemy. They tried to steal our election, and they may have succeeded, working with Trump. So now if they are saying the attack didn\u2019t happen, then that is obviously somehow supposed to benefit Trump. But we\u2019re supposed to not believe it. If they were being consistent. Here\u2019s the question I have about this, Nathan.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If you recall, all during the campaign Donald Trump mentioned — if he mentioned it once, he mentioned it a dozen times, that he didn\u2019t understand Obama and Hillary announcing in advance any strategic plans, such as dealing with ISIS. He said, “Why would you tell the enemy where you\u2019re gonna hit \u2019em and why would you tell the enemy when you\u2019re gonna hit \u2019em?”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Dropping leaflets days ahead of time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. But the point is, he was vehemently opposed to it and called it stupid. He said it\u2019s the kind of stupid stuff Washington\u2019s been doing that needed him to fix. And yet what did he do? He went on TV last week in a rogue announcement, supposedly none of his staff knew he was gonna say it, that we\u2019re gonna be getting out of Syria real soon. It\u2019s gonna happen real soon, a couple days, can\u2019t tell you, but it\u2019s gonna be the greatest exit you\u2019ve ever seen, we\u2019re gonna get out of there, nobody\u2019s gotten out of anywhere better than we\u2019re getting out of Syria, something like that. Then this happens.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Do you think it was a test, as in to say do exactly what you said was stupid and do it to see how they react —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. I\u2019m asking you, did Trump screw up? Did he violate his own policy by going off message in one of these little quick in-and-out TV appearances. Obviously you think somehow Trump is getting snookered here?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, no, no, no, no. Actually on the contrary. What I think is he\u2019s doing exactly what he saw Obama do, and he wanted to see what the reaction would be, and the fact that a chemical attack happened just days later, I think he\u2019s watching and he\u2019s like, “Okay. Well, if I give the heads up and I say I\u2019m gonna do something as far as pulling my troops out, I want to see how the dark state or deep state I guess how you want to call it, the —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Either one works, dark state, deep state, depends on the sun\u2019s up or down.<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: The forces working against them are like, “Oh, yeah? You want to pull the troops out, well, then we\u2019ll stage a chemical attack so you can\u2019t. And it would be completely — I think he wanted to see what would happen. That\u2019s truly what I believe. And I just kind of wanted your take. If that\u2019s reaching, maybe it is, but I see Trump, after so far watching everything and all his moves, he\u2019s extremely intelligent, extremely methodical. And I don\u2019t think that these people have a clue to the level that he sees things.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Hang on.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I just want to make sure that I\u2019ve understood what you\u2019re saying. You think that Trump actually conducted a test here by announcing we\u2019re gonna get out of Syria pretty soon, he wanted to see what would happen?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And what happened was a gas attack, a nerve gas attack, a chemical weapons attack by the Syrians, he wanted to find out why, what was the benefit. Trump was studying who in this scheme?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, \u2019cause I think that we need — certain powers want our troops there and in that region for whatever reason they want them there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay! Okay! I\u2019m sorry for being so thick headed. It\u2019s a combination of my hearing —<\/p>\n

CALLER: No — no —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no. It\u2019s my hearing. I\u2019m not getting every word you — so you think Trump announces we\u2019re getting out and then some saboteurs saw to it there was a gas attack so that we can\u2019t get out?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. All right. Well, look. Let me just play devil\u2019s advocate, even though there is no hell anymore and there is no devil, I still want to play devil\u2019s advocate.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Of course.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If Trump\u2019s so smart and is, you know, five steps ahead of everybody on the chessboard, how did he get suckered by this? He announces we\u2019re getting out and then somebody launches a nerve attack making sure we can\u2019t get out, isn\u2019t that Trump kind of getting tricked?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. I see it as I think he knew something would happen, something would come about to keep him from pulling the troops out. And I think it was his way of finding out. ‘Cause now we have to find out who did it. And if there\u2019s no chemicals there per Obama, then it\u2019s from somewhere else. And I don\u2019t know if I read something on —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Chemical weapons —<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: — Israel now is —<\/p>\n

RUSH: — are from Iraq. They were moved there before we went into Iraq. They were never taken out of Syria. The Russians never got \u2019em out of there. They\u2019ve always been there. There is one other aspect of this. The last time this happened — I hope you\u2019ll remember — I tried to make the case that I didn\u2019t understand why Bashar al-Assad would be gassing his own people.<\/p>\n

I held out that there was a possibility it was actually ISIS doing this disguised and dressed up, so to speak, as Assad\u2019s army because it makes no sense for Assad to gas his own people, given how much attention\u2019s being placed on Syria, how many people are watching it, it would be absolutely foolish to gas your own people here, which Assad — years ago now — was accused of doing, and it didn\u2019t make any sense to me.<\/p>\n

Now, this, clearly there are still chemical weapons there. If Obama thought they were all gone, somebody lied to Obama and he believed, if Obama knew they were there and told us, along with John Kerry and Susan Rice, that they were gone, then it was Obama and his team lying to everybody telling us how smart and tough they were. But are you of the mind that this thing didn\u2019t even really happen? This is total fake news with fake video, kind of like Wag the Dog stuff?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know if it happened or didn\u2019t happen. What catches me off is — and I would have never put two and two together if I hadn\u2019t listened to you for so long.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Is that every time we\u2019re gonna do something, when the powers against what\u2019s going on don\u2019t like it, something happens, whether it\u2019s a school shooting or a chemical attack.<\/p>\n
