RUSH: Here are the 11 corrections that a British judge has demanded that British school students be told about if they are shown Algore\u2019s movie. In Britain, I should add, teachers are at least required to be more careful before force-feeding such hype to children, and this is an example of it. <\/p>\n

‘Here are those 11 … Gore presents Mt. Kilimanjaro\u2019s melting snows as proof of global warming. In fact, the snows are vanishing thanks to local factors, including deforestation. Gore suggests Antarctica\u2019s ice cover is melting. Most studies say it is increasing or stable. Gore shows scary graphics of cities drowning in seas that rise 7m, causing millions of refugees. But the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says the seas will rise at worst by 59cm this century. Gore uses images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests it was caused by global warming. The Government\u2019s expert in this case admitted such one-off events can\u2019t be blamed on warming.\u2019 And, by the way, if it\u2019s blamed on warming and warming is happening, where the hell are the hurricanes this year? I mean, in order to make it look like we\u2019re having a tropical storm season, they\u2019re naming subtropical systems! Systems that never used to get named are now being named. I go to all these hurricane blogs, folks. It\u2019s the most amazing thing. I go to all these hurricane blogs, and they\u2019re desperate. <\/p>\n

They\u2019ll point out, ‘We\u2019re watching a system 200 miles north of Puerto Rico. Upper leave shear should be decreasing. This system could provoke interests on the eastern coast of the United States to take precautions. We don\u2019t know yet, but it looks good for development — and this thing down there, Belize in the Yucatan Peninsula,\u2019 and the National Hurricane Service doing the same thing, and they all have dissipated! They\u2019ve all not amounted to a hill of beans. They never became anything. Yet, the hurricane blog says… I know they\u2019re good guys, but they\u2019re doing everything they can to make it look like thunderstorm activity out in the ocean is ‘posing a threat to the East Coast of the United States.\u2019 Two years in a row here with veritably no hurricane activity striking the US coast. We have had those two Cat Fives down there that hit Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula, but none here. If global warming is going on, why aren\u2019t we being devastated by Katrina after Katrina after Katrina? That\u2019s just my editorial input here. <\/p>\n

‘Gore suggests ice-core evidence shows rising CO2 caused temperature rises, which ended the past seven ice ages. In fact, the CO2 rises followed temperature rises by 800 to 2000 years. Gore claims global warming could stop the Gulf Stream, causing an ice age in Europe. Recent studies deny it.\u2019 We told you about the most recent study. The Gulf Stream is like… Imagine a conveyor belt, and the Gulf Stream takes warm water from right here in Florida and this part of the world across the Atlantic, and it gets up and gets cooler as it goes. But it warms some of the water that it interacts with. It keeps a veritably mild temperate climate over Great Britain, and Gore\u2019s movie says it\u2019s dying. It\u2019s dying! The Gulf Stream is dying out. It isn\u2019t dying out. They find that it fluctuates many times during the course of every year. Remember, a judge is making teachers teach this stuff to their kids watching the movie. ‘Gore blames global warming for species losses in coral reef bleaching. The government couldn\u2019t show evidence to back this claim.\u2019 There are many more. An interesting thing, too, is in Gore\u2019s movie, he doesn\u2019t want people in Western Africa to improve their lives because it would require electricity and so forth. He wants them to remain poor rather than advancing their lifestyles, in order to ‘save\u2019 the planet. It\u2019s absurd. He\u2019s probably going to win the Nobel Peace Prize.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey, where is the peace? What peace has Algore achieved to qualify him for this Nobel Peace Prize?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know, it is interesting. There\u2019s a post at National Review Online today by Iain Murray, and he addresses this point. He says, ‘While Algore is the favorite to win the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, a British court has found that his film is both partisan and contains no fewer than 11 material inaccuracies that need to be drawn to students\u2019 attention if it\u2019s going to be shown in the schools there. As for the impending Nobel award, am I the only one who finds it depressing that while past laureates like Mother Teresa and Albert Schweitzer spent decades working with the poor, in terrible conditions, Gore wins for making a movie? Moreover, a movie of himself giving a lecture? Moreover, a movie whose upshot is that the poor in Calcutta and West Africa should be denied access to the energy that can lift them out of poverty?\u2019 So it\u2019s a great point: What\u2019s he done? But the Nobel Peace Prize in recent years hasn\u2019t been about ‘peace,\u2019 anyway. It\u2019s been about liberal activism. How do you explain Jimmy Carter getting the Nobel Peace Prize? Jimmy Carter is single-handedly responsible for the nation of Iran, the Islamic Republican of Iran being the state sponsor of worldwide terror today. Jimmy Carter gets a Nobel Peace Prize! How do you explain Yasser Arafat getting the Nobel Peace Prize? Gore\u2019s going to get it because of the movie. He\u2019s going to get it because global warming is that liberal hoax. He\u2019s going to get it because he\u2019s criticized Bush. He\u2019s going to get it because he lost unfairly to Bush in 2000, in their minds. It has nothing to do with Bush. The Nobel Peace Prize has nothing to do with peace. I should be the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. I\u2019ve done more for liberty, individual freedom, and the promotion of that, which is what leads to peace, than anybody in this year\u2019s roster of candidates. I should be the recipient. I\u2019m not campaigning for it. I say this only to illustrate how it\u2019s just been devalued, this whole Nobel Peace Prize has.<\/p>\n
